Anything Goes Challenge 86 - Vintage /Shabby Chic

Hi folks!  Well it's time for the fortnightly challenge over on Craft Den's Anything Goes Challenge. (http://anythingchallenge.blogspot.co.uk/ ) This time the theme is vintage or shabby chic.

I decided not to do a card so instead I've done a piece of home decor. This is a 12x12 sheet of Tim Holtz coredinations sanded and inked, layered with a brown floral from my stash. The dress forms and floral postcard are Kanban toppers.

I made the grungey flower by colouring broderie anglais with distress inks and twisting into something resembling a rose (if you squint a bit lol) then added a gem to the centre.

The dark flowers started off brown.  They have had several layers of shimmer mist in blues and purples sprayed over them and finished off with a brown ink pad.  I added chocolate  pearl to the centres for a bit of bling.

The globe and old style tea drinker are from Docrafts Chronology pad, while the bird is from the Market Garden calendar I've been cutting up.

The letters are stencils cut from a cereal box and covered with more Chronology papers.

The orange script paper was a free download which I scrunched and inked then used to add some texture.

All in all I'm happy with the picture and intend to find a frame to suit so it can hang on the cave walls.  I hope you like it as much as I do.

Wait until you see what the rest of the team have posted - their ideas are so inspirational! Please check out the ladies individual blogs too.  We all love to know what you think so be kind and leave us a comment.

  4. Oh I really like this Jude! There's so much going on, each time you look at it you find something new. Your images remind me of some old wooden stamps I have - will have to have a rummage and find them. Great idea for the flower.
