New Year's Eve 2013

Morning all.  This is the last post of 2013! Hard to believe but tomorrow is a new year.  Don't they fly when you get older?
I don't have many more Christmas cards left to show you, this is the one I made for our brother John to send to Jen and Alan.
It is a 6 x 6 kraft card covered with a reindeer paper from the Docrafts collection, Christmas in the Country.  I matted the ready made topper on to blue then silver mirror card.  The sentiment was just matted with blue.  Very simple but I like it.
I know it's early but I would like to wish you all a happy and healthy 2014.  I hope it brings you all you wish for.  Happy New Year.

Another Christmas Card

Good morning yes I'm afraid we haven't run out yet lol. We still have a couple more days to show them before they go away for a few months!

Today it's the turn of the one I made for Alan.

The toppers are part of a set I got for my birthday. I think they are really sweet.

I didn't want anything too complicated so I just matted them on to some of the blue sparkly paper,

and then tied a red ribbon around the middle.

I finished the card with a sentiment done on the computer.

Hope you like it, see you soon. Take care.

Sunday

Morning all. I can't believe how quick the days are going.  It feels like Christmas was yesterday but it was actually 4 days ago.  Blink and it will be New Year!
New Year's Eve is our parents anniversary.  This year is their 47th!! For the next couple of days Jen and I will be busy making cards for the family to send them. Once the cards have been given to them I can share with you but today I'm sharing the card I made for our brother John for Christmas.
I love this Santa and reindeer die.  I think it's a Marianne die but I'm not 100% sure.
The tree was a freebie from a magazine (I think).  Jen will correct me if I'm wrong lol.
Once I had the die cuts it was a simple matter of matting and layering a couple of Christmas papers on to a 6 x 6 kraft card and adding the sentiment.
Hope you like it.  TTFN Jude xx

The Snowman and the Snowdog

Good morning all and happy Saturday. Have you recovered from all of the festivities yet? I do hope so and that you are looking forward to a nice crafty weekend.

I am going to try and get back in the craft room today as I haven't been near since Christmas Eve, but I will have to do some tidying up first and that's what I'm avoiding lol.

Anyway another Christmas card today, this time it's the one I made for Mum and Dad to send to our brother John.

The Snowman and the Snowdog are cut using dies from Crafters Companion and then coloured with Promarkers.

They are very easy to do as you just colour through the holes in the dies.

I used some co-ordinating Snowman paper for the background with some Centura Pearl white card which I embossed with the snowflake die.

I finished the card with a computer made sentiment cut with a Spellbinders labels die.

Hope you like it, thanks for stopping by again, see you soon.

Christmas Day plus 2

Morning all.  Well Christmas has been and gone but the memories will last a lifetime.
We had a fabulous day with all our motley bunch of family - it was loud and mad and loud (have I said that?) but I wouldn't change them for anything.  Everyone had a lovely time; dinner was fantastic(big thanks to Daniel for all his hard work) and the kids had more toys than Hamleys!!

I spent Christmas Eve at my daughters so that I could see my beautiful granddaughter Keira open her gifts.  She did a deal with Father Christmas that she would give him her dummy for some presents - its working so far!  She hung it on the Christmas tree and it was gone in the morning to be replaced by so many parcels it was almost obscene lol.  Well she is only 2 and if we can't spoil her at Christmas then when can we?

Here she is trying on the new coat I bought her.

We are nearly through all the family cards we made so you won't have to suffer them much longer.  Today though I am sharing the card I made for Keira.

The image is from a Christmas cd rom we got last year and I just loved it.  The colours are traditional but muted and I felt they were great for a little girl.
I wrote the sentiment on the pc and printed it on cardstock.
A close up of the layers.
 And the almost finished card.
If you look closely at the previous pictures, you will see I smudged the ink when edging the sentiment, so I cut a sparkly heart to cover it :)
That's it for today.  TTFN Jude xx

Boxing day

Good morning all, I hope you all had fantastic days yesterday, and that Santa brought you all you wished for. We spent the day with all our family in the local church hall, as we did last year. It's the only place big enough to seat us all for Christmas dinner, as there were 19 of us!

It was hectic and loud and very busy, but we were all together and this Christmas that was what we wanted more than anything else.

I thought I would share a couple more of the Christmas cards that I made today.

They are both quite simple, but they were both for boys lol.

I do love this sparkly blue paper, and it looks great on plain white card.

Hope you like them too.

Take care and I'll see you soon.

Merry Christmas Everyone

Good morning all and a very Merry Christmas to you all. We hope you and your families and friends have a wonderful day and are able to spend time with your loved ones. We will be spending it with ours. It will be hectic and probably stressful at times but we wouldn't have it any other way.

Take care friends.

See you soon.

Oh Christmas Tree

Good morning blog friends, and happy Christmas Eve.

Today's card is the one I made Mum to send to Dad. I do love the very simple Christmas Cards.

For this one I used a black metallic A5 card blank and covered it with red glitter card.

I cut the Christmas tree shape on the Silhouette and then used it as a template to draw around to cut it in the different cards.

I added some very sparkly silver ribbon and a bow and then finished the card with a computer generated sentiment cut out with a couple of labels tags.

Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by again. Have a lovely Christmas.

Christmas Eve eve

Happy Monday folks! Only 2 sleeps to go until Christmas.  Are you ready yet?
I hope you are more organised than us.  Jen and I are still making cards!!!!
I thought I'd share with you a some of the ones I've completed over the weekend.
Back in the Summer I made a start on some batch cards I was going to have as stand-bys.  You know when you suddenly realise there is an occasion and you haven't made something.  No? Only me then....
I never got around to doing anything with them so when I needed a few extra cards I decided to make use of these.

Using co-ordinating papers I cut several sizes of Spellbinders Ornaments and used foam pads to attach to the card bases.  I then used a Christmas stamp to add the sentiment.  As I had the hard work done these took minutes to put together but everyone was slightly different.
Hope you like them.  TTFN Jude xx

Flowery Christmas

Good morning all. Hope you are all well. Today's card is the one I made for Dad to give to Mum for Christmas.

I love this paper and toppers set. The colours are very traditional but also modern.

Mum loves flowers so I thought this poinsettia would be perfect.

Very simply teamed with matching paper and red ribbon.

Hope you like it. See you soon.

Christmas wishes

Happy eve eve eve of Christmas Eve lol!  Three guesses who today's card is for??
Yes this festive red and black (!) card is for Jen and Alan.  The topper is from a Crafter's Companion set which I love, but the image is quite small.  To make it fit my 8 x 8 card I added lots of layers.
Here is a close up of the layers.  The base is the white card blank then red mirror card, black card, red spotted paper, more red mirror card and more black.  It makes for a very heavy card!!
I added some black organza ribbon down one edge and right justified the topper.
A couple of snowflake embellishments finish it off.  Hope they like it.

A couple of quick cards

Hello blog friends, hope you are all well.

Today's cards are a couple of really quick and simple designs.

For this first one I used a Snowflake embossing folder straight on to the shaped card front.

Then I used Spellbinders Heirloom Ornaments to cut a couple of baubles from patterned card.

I finished the card with a ready made sentiment and a couple of little bows.

This second one I used the same embossing folder but this time I used it on a piece of Centura Pearl white card. Which I then matted with some Christmas paper.

The ornament is a chipboard shape which I covered with the same paper.

I finished the card with another ready made sentiment and bow and some glitter glue around the edge of the ornament.

Hope you like them.

See you soon, take care.
