Pandamonium

Good morning all.  A big thank you to Jen for stepping in yesterday when I forgot to photograph my card before sending it!!
Thanks to Staci I eventually got a picture of the card I made for Daniel's 24th on Sunday.

I found this flic.kr image on Pinterest and it uses the new Mama Elephant Pandamonium set.  The creator isn't acknowledged but I loved the layout they had used.

I bought the Pandamonium set a couple of weeks ago because Jen really liked it, and this is the first time I've used it.  I don't think mine is a bad interpretation of the original card.  What do you think?

I really must try harder with my cards as I either forget to make them until the last minute or forget to photograph them LOL.

Out of this world

Good morning all, hope you have all had a good weekend. We celebrated a couple of birthdays this weekend. One of them was my sons, and this is the card that I made for me and his dad to send.

I used the paper out of a Studio Calico paper pad, it was already printed with all of the little sayings around the earth. So I just added the main sentiment using Safmat.

I typed it on the computer and added the star around it then printed it on to Safmat and cut it out by hand.

I really like this product as it's transparent so you don't lose the image behind. I just forget we have it lol.

Then I used a Britannia die to cut the Son. I cut it twice from bright red card and layered it together. Then I covered it with Glossy Accents and left it to dry.

Once it was dry I added it to the front. Then I layered the main image on to some bright red card and put it all on a 7 x 7 card blank.

Then I used another Studio Calico paper for the inside. This one shows all of the constellations. I added a small arrow cut with an MFT Blueprints set and stamped his birthday date in the bottom corner.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Butterfly wishes

Good morning friends, are you looking forward to the weekend? I know I am, can't wait for a bit of a rest! lol.

Today's card is another that I made for mums birthday a couple of weeks ago. I took inspiration from Pinterest again and came up with this card using the craft supplies that I have.

I used a 7 x 7 card blank for the base and a soft turquoise shimmer card for the background. Then I took a piece of white card and ran it through an embossing folder to give me the detail on the left hand side.

Then I used a Spellbinders Lacey Ovals die to cut a small aperture in the card. The leaves are from a MFT Stamps die which I cut in the same white card.

The larger butterflies are from an old die that we got with a magazine, and I added some pale turquoise pearls to their bodies.

The sentiment die was also a magazine freebie and I cut it twice so that I could shadow the turquoise layer behind the white one.

I used a new alphabet die set for the Mum. This one is called Finlays ABC's by Lawn Fawn, again I cut it twice to shadow it.

I placed the die cut leaves behind the front of the card and then fed them through the oval aperture. Then I punched a couple of butterflies to go on top.

A few extra pearls was all it needed to finish it off.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Taking a ride

Jen's son, Daniel, is celebrating his 24th birthday on Sunday and this is the card I have made to send him from me.

He has recently taken up cycling, so this Lili of the Valley image is perfect for him.

I used the colours from the image and a sketch from Mojo Monday for the layout.

This small part of the card took the most doing and fiddling with!!  I love these word dies but they are a nightmare at times.
I cut it first on card backed with double sided tape.  Unfortunately I couldn't get it out of the die :(
I eventually cut it from plain card and used the tiniest amount of cosmic shimmer to adhere it.

Another quick card that was relatively simple to make.

Masks and Inks

Good morning all, hope you are well and having a good week. Today's card is one I made for Mum for her birthday last week, this one was from my brother.

I used a That Special Touch mask and London Fog Memento ink for the flower background. Then I punched some small flowers from yellow card and glued them on top.

I used some coordinating yellow paper and grey and yellow card for matting and layering and offset them on a grey A5 card blank.

The sentiment is from a Lili of the Valley set, which I cut out with a circle die from an MFT Blueprints set. Then I made a couple of mats for it with two sizes of EK Success circle punches.

I made up the sentiment using the Crafters Companion Sentimentals Female set and stamped it with black Archival Ink.

I added a few pearls to the centres of the flowers, then punched out a tiny butterfly from the same yellow card.

To finish the card I found a small piece of yellow ribbon and put it across the bottom of the image, then I tied a bow for one end.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Some wonderful news

Hello again crafty friends.

I left you Friday with the news that my daughter was due to have her baby induced that day.  Things didn't quite go to plan but eventually at 15.30 on Saturday afternoon we welcomed Charlotte Rose into the world.

I may be a little biased, but I think she is beautiful :)  She is a little jaundiced so is undergoing light therapy.  Hopefully she will be home tomorrow.

As usual I am way behind with my cards for the event, although I did manage to make this one for her uncle to give to her parents.

I made the bunting from a La La Land die, an MFT heart strip and a heart punch, then raised it on sticky pads.

I stamped the body suit on a couple of papers and also used the same ones for the card background.

The stamp is from a set we have had forever and was the perfect size to sit under the topper.

I'm happy with the layout but the papers are a bit too much in the banner.  I should really have stuck to plain card.  What do you think?

Birthday shaker balloon

Good morning folks, hope you are well. I am scheduling this post as I will be in Dublin when it goes live. Just a quick overnight visit with my hubby, brother, son and daughter-in-law to see a concert.

This is the card I made for my Granddaughter's birthday last week. I used the bunny and sentiment from the latest Studio Calico card kit. I coloured the bunny with Copics.

The sentiment is stamped with Magenta Archival Ink and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

For the balloon, I used some packaging that came with some eyelets. I saved the plastic cup part to use on cards. Then I just filled it with sequins and put a piece of acetate behind it.

I used a Spellbinders circle die to cut the aperture in the card front and then just pushed the plastic cup through.

The clouds are from the Lawn Fawn, Hello Sunshine set, and I went around the edge with a silver gel pen.

The granddaughter stamp is from a Crafters Companion Sentimentals set and is stamped with Black Archival ink.

I added some twine to the balloon and then finished the card off with a few sequins.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Big sister

Today my daughter is due to give birth to her second child.  That means my granddaughter Keira is about to become a big sister, so I made her a card from the baby.

We already know our newest addition is a little girl so I thought this picture was appropriate.

It is a Lili of the Valley image from the Art Pad called Just for Girls.

I love pink with navy blue and these papers from Dovecraft fit fabulously with my image.

I also used my favourite Lawn Fawn stamp set, but this time chose a different sentiment.

I'm sure Keira will be a great big sister, even if she doesn't like the idea at the moment lol :)
