Panda wearing glasses

Good morning all, I hope you are having a good week. We are having an awful lot of rain and bad weather here at the moment so I hope you are faring better than us.

Today's card is a bit of a mix of stamp and die sets, the panda is from the Mamma Elephant set Pandamonium and is stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.

The balloons are from the WPlus9 set called Whole Lotta Happy and I cut them with some offcuts from my scrap box.

The number 8 is from an MFT Stamps Starlight Number set and the back frame is from Wonky Stitched Elements by Avery Elle.

See what I mean, quite a mixture lol, but that's the beauty of stamping and die-cutting. It doesn't matter who the manufacturer is, if you like something and it works with what you already have then it's definitely worth it.

I did a little bit of background stamping, and stamped a sentiment using stamps from the Mama Elephant Mini Message set. Then I finished it off with a pair of glasses care of a Taylored Expressions die set.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Pandas on parade

It's Wednesday and my eldest son's 26th birthday!  That makes me feel old lol ;)

Happy Birthday Ted!

My card uses the wonderful Pandamonium stamp and die set from Mama Elephant.  These little characters are so cute!  The layout was lifted from one I saw a while ago but cannot remember who it was by!  Whoever it was, I thank you for your idea!!

I drew a pencil line across my card and stamped 5 of the pandas across it using the MISTI.  I love this as it meant I could line up the stamps and ink them all in one go.  It also helped me to centre the sentiment underneath.

I added some of the little elements from the set and used copic markers to add some colour and the shading along the ground level.

The red hearts are from a small SSS die that came in a kit a while ago and just added a bit of extra colour.

Hope you like it.  TTFN Jude xx

25th Birthday Balloons

Good morning all, I hope you are having a good week. Today is my son's 25th birthday and this is one of the cards I made for him. I really can't believe that my baby is now 25, and currently away with his wife lol. He really can't be old enough!!!!! but anyway, happy birthday D, I really hope you have a lovely day xxxx

For this card I used the Avery Elle Wonky Stitched Frame for the background and then cut some balloons using the WPlus 9 Whole Lotta Happy dies. I used bits and pieces of paper from my scrap box for this.

I raised the balloons on foam tape and then added silver embroidery satin thread to each of them. I tied  a bow around the threads and then stuck these on to the card front.

For the sentiment I used the MFT Stamps Happy Everything die, and cut it from plain white card. Then I used some Copic markers with similar colours to the balloons to dot all over the word. I wanted the word to tone in but didn't want a solid colour and this seemed to work.

Then I used a birthday stamp from the Clearly Besotted Happy Birthday set to finish it off.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Umbrella Bunny

A very happy Monday to you all.  I hope you've had a relaxing weekend?

We went out for a meal Friday evening and had a birthday breakfast Saturday for my nephew, then yesterday we drove to Runcorn for Bailey's under 7s  football team presentation event.  He won the consistency award for always giving his best in every game.

I try to give my best in my card making but don't always succeed!  However I was very happy with this card I made recently for Lily's 8th birthday.

I cut a wonky stitched rectangle die to the size of my card blank, then took a slice from the middle using two of the stitched border trio from Mama Elephant.  I cut another piece of cardstock just bigger than the slice and used several memento inks in pinks and oranges to make an hombre effect.

I love how this looks and really pops against the white.  The little bunny is from Up and Away also by Mama Elephant, and I coloured the umbrella using Copic markers in matching colours to my inks.

The sentiment is by Lawn Fawn and the enamel dots from Twine and Ink.

I really like how this card turned out and will certainly use this layout again.  Hope you like it too.

Simon Says Stamp birthday balloons

Good morning all, I hope you have had a good week and are looking forward to the weekend.

Today's card was a very simple one to make, I have used this 1st and 2nd generation stamping technique before and really like the effect.

I used the Simon Says Stamp set called, Birthday Bits, and stamped the balloons using three different colours of Memento Dew Drop inks.

For this card I used, Grape Jelly, Elderberry and Dandelion inks, and stamped the balloon twice with each colour but only inking it once.

By doing this you get a very solid colour image and then a faint/patchy image. Then I added a greeting from the same set, using Tuxedo Black ink.

To finish the card off I stamped a few stars around, then added a string stamped to each of the balloons.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you next week.

Birthday balloon bunny

As you may have noticed Charlotte had her first birthday this week.  This card was originally going to be from me but I adapted it a little to make it from her Mummy and Daddy instead.

The balloon and bunny are from a Wplus9 set called Going Places.  I wanted it to look like the rabbit was flying among the clouds so used a stitched border die from Mama Elephant and raised it over some pale blue card stock.

I then heat embossed the sentiment and die cut the number from a piece of embossed card, which I double layered for some dimension.

Hope you like it.  TTFN Jude xx

Iggy piglet

Good morning all, I hope you are having a good week.

Today's card is a simple little one that I made for my granddaughter a few weeks ago.

Ever since she was a baby she has been known as Iggy, and when she was learning to talk, that's what she called herself. She was also obsessed with Peppa Pig and used to say the words and make the noises all the time, but instead of it being Peppa Pig, she always said Iggy Pig lol. And bless her she still says it if someone asks her what her full name is, she laughs and says Iggy Pig.;o))

So I made her this little piglet card, by using a black and white image and printing it with my Laserjet printer. Then I added bright pink foil and ran it through the Minc Machine.

I used Copic markers to colour in the light pink and then cut the panel out with a stitched rectangle die.

Then all I needed to do was add it to a bright pink card blank and it was finished.

Hope you like it, Iggy did lol. Take care and I'll see you soon.

To the stars and back

Yesterday my youngest granddaughter, Charlotte Rose, celebrated her first birthday.  It would also have been my grandma's 95th birthday.

This is the card I sent to Charlotte.

The background is made using a blend of memento inks - rose bud, angel pink, sweet plum, grape jelly and teal zeal.  The stars and the little girl are from a Mama Elephant set called Shooting Star.  I heat embossed the stars in bright white.

The moon is cut from a piece of silver paper that feels like cloth.  I've no idea where it came from but I wish we had more!

Hope you like it.  See you soon.

Have a Magical Day in Fairyland

Good morning all and welcome to the start of another week. And for us another run of birthdays, starting with my great niece Charlotte Rose who turns 1 today. So happy birthday princess, hope you have a lovely day. xxxxx

Today's card is one I made for my granddaughter last week for her 8th birthday. I used the Lawn Fawn Fairy Friends set, along with a few bits and pieces from my leftover stash.

I cut the fairies out using there coordinating dies and coloured everything with Copic markers. Then I added clear Wink of Stella to the fairy wings to make them sparkle.

The tree and birdhouse are from the MFT Stamps set called Things with Wings. These were already cut and left over from a previous card, so I coloured them up and added them to the scene.

The big toadstool was sent to me when I bought some craft items online. It must be well over a year ago, so I can't remember who sent it, but it is lovely and fits right in on this card.

I added the grass cut with MFT Stamps Grassy Edges die and then hung the 8 from the tree to finish it off.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Butterfly floral

It's Friday - and about time too :)

Today I have the last of Mum's birthday cards (from me that is!)

This one uses a piece of designer paper from the stash which already had the border strip attached.

I used a piece of matching card stock to stamp the sentiment on and raised them on foam pads.

The vellum butterfly cam out of our random shapes box.  I'm not sure of its origins but I thought it was pretty.

Hope you like it.  TTFN Jude xx

Organic Blooms Bouquet

Good morning all, I hope you are having a good week. Today's card is the one I made for Mum's birthday on Monday from Alan and I.

I love this large stamp from Mama Elephant called Organic Blooms. If you look back on Monday's post you will see that Jude used the same stamp for her card, but we have two completely different looks.

I stamped the image with Versamark ink and then heat embossed it with Bright White Fine Detail Embossing Powder. Then I coloured it with Copic Markers.

I really like the effect you get when heat embossing a stamp, it really makes a change from a black outline.

I cut the panel out with a stitched rectangle die and then added one of the small sentiments, that come with the stamp set on to a die cut banner. I raised the banner up slightly in the middle to give it a bit of interest, and then finished the card off with a few pale blue pearls here and there.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.
