Tiny Dancer

Morning all. Can you believe it's Monday again already?
We have had a relatively quiet weekend but still didn't manage to get a lot done.
I did however make a couple of cards.  This is the first

The image is from Lili of the Valley.  I added some Wink of Stella in glitter silver to the skirt, stars and her headband.

I played with some scraps of toner card and Jen's Minc machine to make the purple strip, then heat embossed it in black.

It reactivated the foil a little and instead of a smooth surface it became more worn looking.  I like the effect, unfortunately it doesn't show up well on camera.

A few heart shaped sequins add the finishing touch.

Hope you like it.  TTFN Jude xx

Christmas Cards catch up

Good morning all and happy Friday. I am ready for the weekend are you? I'm hoping to get some time in the craft room and catch up on the cards I need for this month, but will have to see how it goes lol.

Anyway, today's post is a catch up on some of the Christmas cards that I never got to post during December.

I know you are probably sick of them but this is it for a while now lol.

There is a real mixture here of Marianne Designs, Avery Elle, Lawn Fawn, Molly Moo and Tim Holtz, so I think I made good use of our supplies.

Anyway, hope you have a good weekend. Take care and I'll see you soon.

Birdies

This card is left over from Jen's birthday.

It is a simple digi stamp design from Digi Stamp Boutique.

I coloured the image with Copic markers and matted it on a co-ordinating card stock.

This was a really quick and easy card to make.  Hope you like it.

Arctic Birthday

Good morning all, today's card is one I made using the Avery Elle Polar Pals set.

I started with a piece of blue card and inked over it with a white ink. Going a bit heavier in the centre and lighter towards the edges.

Then I used a white shimmer ink spray over the top to give it a snowy/wintry effect.

I stamped and cut the animals with their matching dies, and then coloured them with Copic markers.

Then I used the Mama Elephant Stitched Border Trio dies to create the snowbanks.

I used one of the sentiment stamps that came with the set and then used a Lawn Fawn Scripty Sayings stamp for the main sentiment.

Then I added a small plastic football embellishment to finish it off.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Thank you cards

I have been playing with my watercolours again on some backgrounds.

I thought I'd use this one for a simple thank you card.

I die cut the word from my watercolour piece and then 3 more times from white cardstock, before layering together.

The background was stuck to a small note card made from cream pearl cardstock, before the word was dropped back in.

I added the sentiment and some silver sequins, then decided to add glossy accents to the word.

I think it turned out well so I made a few more to keep for future occasions.

I just need to add the sentiment and final embellishments.

Unforgettable - Just Like You

Good morning all, hope you are well and have recovered from the Christmas and New Years celebrations. We have had such a lovely Christmas and New Year that we really didn't want it to end. But oh well, we're all back to work now and on with a new year.

Today's card is one I made using the Mama Elephant Ella and Friends stamp and die sets.

I used a patterned paper for the background and then stamped the images using Tuxedo Black Memento ink.

I coloured them with Copic markers and then cut them out with the matching dies.

I used some balloon dies from Paper Smooches and held them to Ella with some blue twine.

I love her little friends at the bottom, you can easily change the scene depending on which friends and accessories you choose.

I finished the card off with one of the sentiment stamps that comes with the set and a die cut 7, for the birthday boy.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Happy New Year 2016

In the words of John Lennon - "Another year over and a new one just begun"

Can you believe it is 2016?  The last year has flown by.  We've had a few firsts, a few celebrations, quite a few birthdays (!), a wedding, a birth and lots more in between!  There have been ups and downs, good days and bad, but on the whole we've had a good year.  Let's hope that this new year is kind to us all.

My card today has quite a few elements to it.  There is watercolour, triple embossing, stamping and die cutting.

I created the background using my Gansai Tambi watercolours.  I LOVE these paints and they may feature a lot over the next few weeks.

I stamped some stars using Versamark and black embossing powder, then added the sentiments.  These are embossed with Liquid Platinum.  I love the matte gold colour of this powder.

To finish off I matted the piece on gold mirror card and added some gold sequins.

Hope you like it. TTFN Jude xx
