Bright & Cheery

Hello crafty friends. Thanks for visiting us today.

This card is made using the Mama Elephant set, Reindeer Games, with a sentiment from Lawn Fawn.

I took a piece of blue card stock and randomly stamped images from the set with Versamark ink. I then heat embossed with true white embossing powder.

I stamped the sentiment on a 6 x 4 card blank and cut my panel to fit below. I added Wink of Stella in red and green to some of the images before finishing off with a piece of red twine.

Hope you like it. TTFN Jude xx

Trouble in a tutu

Good morning friends. Hope you're having a good start to the week.

Today's card was made in honour of Jen's birthday yesterday.

This was made using the adorable Trouble in a Tutu from Clearly Besotted. This little dancing hippo is just so cute!

I stamped the figure then cut a mask so I could stamp the cloud behind her. The banner is part of the set but the sentiments are from another set we had in the stash.  I've no idea what make they are but the words fit into the banner very nicely.

To add a little bling I coloured the banner and stars with a gold gel pen then used gold holographic paper for a mat.

Hope you like it as much as Jen did!

Little Angel

Another week gone and I am rapidly running out of time to get everything done.  Why am I always on the last push?

This card is made using another stamp from the Smirk Christmas Decorations set  I thought it would be perfect for my youngest grand daughter, Charlotte.

She has just discovered her singing voice and although she doesn't speak well yet, she can babble in tune - lol 😝

I die cut a circle to use as a mask over my stamped image, then  lots of small stamps to create the background.

I then used a neon pink gel pen to add some faux stitching to the circle.
Hope you like it.

Inlaid Elves

Good morning all, I hope your week is going well.

Today's cards were somewhat of an experiment, which turned out OK in the end. You will probably all know the lovely Jennifer McGuire, but I was copying one of her techniques for inlaid die cutting.

As I don't have any of the connected scene dies I had to combine what I did have. So I used the Santa's Elves set from MFT, along with a shape out of one of the Blueprints sets, to give me an arched window.

Then I placed the elf die on the white card and ran it through the bigshot to cut it out, stopping where I wanted the feet to remain attached.

Then I placed the arched die behind the elf and ran it through again to give me the shape. The only part that doesn't cut is the bottom where the elf is stood. So I just used my craft knife to cut along the bottom.

Then I stamped the elves using my Misti to ensure they were in the right place, then coloured them with Copic Markers. For the backgrounds I did some inky blending and stamping with Distress Inks and then laid the cut out pieces back in.

To finish them off I added the sentiments and a few stamped snowflakes and sequins.

Hope you like them, take care and I'll see you soon.

Smirk

I'm having to get a move on with my cards, so I'm trying to come up with some that are quicker to make.  I thought I was on top of things this year, but apparently not 😮

This card uses stamps from a Smirk set called Christmas Decorations.  I multi stamped some card with two of the stamps in the set and coloured them with Copic markers.

I then cut the card down to make panels for two card blanks which I matted on to blue cardstock.

The sentiment is from a set by Clearly Besotted called Eat Drink Be Merry.

I intend to make a few more cards using this idea but with different stamps.  What do you think?

Painted Poppies

Good morning folks, hope you are having a good week. The days are positively flashing past now on the run up to Christmas. I swear December is speeded up somehow lol.

Right, today's card is one I made using the lovely Painted Poppy set from Altenew. It's another of their colour layering stamp sets and I think it is soooo pretty.

I decided to give it a go on some light Kraft card using the Altenew Crisp Dye inks.

They stamp beautifully, and are so easy to use. I then added Glossy Accents to the centres to make them really shine.

For the sentiment I went with the Altenew Halftone Smile set. It comes with a couple of different Smile stamps and then lots of other add-on sentiments.

I think these stamps are lovely for all sorts of occasions, we also have one called Halftone Hello which I haven't used yet. As this card was for a birthday, I used the Smile set on the front and then I added a happy birthday stamp to the inside.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Snowy background

Hello again friends.  Are you getting in the Christmas spirit yet?

Our tree went up this weekend and the house is filling up with presents waiting to be wrapped!

My card today is a quick and easy make using a background die and one sentiment stamp.

This took me just a few minutes to die cut and stamp but ages to attach the tiny foam squares between the stars - I wanted some dimension.

The sentiment is from a Lawn Fawn set called Snowy Backdrops and the background die is from MFT.

Hope you like it.  TTFN Jude xx
