Hugs

Good morning all, it's Leap Day today, an extra day to work or play lol. Unfortunately I have to work but I'll try and play when I get home ;o))

Today's card is another that I coloured for the Kathy Racoosin 30 Day Colouring Challenge. We enter on Instagram, have you had a look yet?

I used a poppy stamp that came free with a magazine last year and coloured it with Copic markers.

Then I coloured a piece of plain white card with the same markers that I had used for the flowers, and die cut the word Hugs from it.

I really like the gradient effect that you get by colouring the card yourself. The die is by Lawn Fawn.

Then I finished the card off with a few puffy stickers in coordinating colours.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Happy thoughts

It's Friday at last.  Hope you have something nice planned for the weekend?
We are off out to celebrate our little brother's 36th birthday at our favourite Chinese restaurant.
As I can't share his birthday cards before the actual day, I have another card I made for the 30 day colouring challenge.

This image is from All Dressed Up and is Wear with Style girl 03.  I coloured her simply without much shading using some zesty coloured Copic markers.

The background is made using a couple of stamps from a Simon Says Stamp set called I See You.  I love making these fun background with the little stamps that don't often get used.

The sentiment is a Wplus9 set called Strictly Sentiments 2.

Hope you like her.

Barcelona Cathedral in Foil

Good morning all, today's card is all about the Foiling again lol. I'm sorry but I love it so there will be lots more to see over the coming months ;o)

I wanted a specific scene for this card so I searched the internet for a copyright free image of Barcelona, and I found this one depicting the Cathedral.

I copied the image into a standard Word document and then changed the colour so that it was black and white.

Then I added a sentiment above and a number in the little tree.

I printed the image on my Laserjet printer and then ran it through the Minc Machine using Thermoweb Decofoil in Rose Gold.

Then I used the Marianne Designs Postage Stamps die set to cut a border, and mounted the whole thing on to a 6 x 4 plain white card blank.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Watercolour border

Happy hump day!  Hope it's going well for you?

Today's card is one I made for Mum.  It was the anniversary of Dad's death nearly 2 weeks ago and I wanted to give Mum something to let her know how proud I am of how she has coped.

The lovely border stamp is by IndigoBlu.

I did a rough watercolour wash over each flower before adding a sky and grass.  I then splashed with water tainted with pearlescent paint to create rain.

I just added a simple sentiment and doodled a border around it, as I didn't think it needed too much.

Hope you like it.

Wishing you bunnies

Good morning all, hope you are having a good week. Today's card is one I coloured doing the Kathy Racoosin 30 day colouring challenge. If you haven't seen it, head over to The Daily Marker blog and take a look.

I used the WPlus9 'Wishing You' stamp set and watercoloured with Distress Inks.

I used Cracked Pistachio and Salty Ocean for the background and then Hickory Smoke and Spun Sugar for the bunnies.

Then I stamped a few stars and hearts that come with the set using Versamark ink and heat embossed them with Ranger Liquid Platinum Fine Detail Embossing Powder.

I added the sentiments using a black pigment ink and then heat embossed them with clear embossing powder.

I mounted the front on to a 6 x 4 pale green card blank and added a couple of strips of black dotty Washi Tape to either side. Then to finish it off I added a few black dotty sequins from Studio Calico.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Note cards

Morning all.  Monday again and hopefully a productive week ahead.

I have been participating in several challenges throughout February and have posted many of these on my Instagram account (@mycraftcave).

For day 21 of The Daily Marker 30 day colouring challenge hosted by Kathy Rac, I created an A4 background using distress inks and a selection of stamps.

The stamps are from Clearly Besotted and Studio Calico.

After stamping everything I used a water brush to gently colour the roses and purple flowers, then Copic markers for the butterflies.

I cut the sheet to fit four note cards then added a matching sentiment and matt.

Hope you like them.

Police no 10

Good morning all and happy Friday, hope you have had a good week.

Today's card is one I made for my grandson last month. He is Police/Spy/Security mad, so I thought a card with a Police badge would be good.

I used a cut file from my Studio software for the shield background, then I added the Police and 10 circle to it. I made the file all black and then printed it on my laser printer.

Then I used gold Deco Foil to foil the shield with my Minc machine.

I cut the panel down to fit on to a 6 x 6 card blank and backed it with a soft gold card. Then I added small stickers with his date of birth and initials on to make it more personal.

To finish it off I stamped a sentiment from a WPlus9 set called 'Strictly Sentiments 1'.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

30 day colouring challenge

So far this month I have managed to colour or paint something every day  following the Daily Marker 30 day colouring challenge hosted by Kathy Racoosin over at The Daily Marker.

IMG_0795

My day one image was this Tiddly Inks image called Wryn Spring Bling.  This was the original image.

This is what I did with her :)

I took some purple card and a paper from the stash to make this simple card.

The sentiment is from Studio Calico and is embossed with gold Colour Craft embossing powder.

She will now be added to my collection ready for the appropriate time to give her to someone.

A true friend

Good morning all, hope you are having a good week. I have my grandson's visiting this week as it's half-term for them so it's a busy but lovely week.

Today's card is one I made to send to a crafty friend overseas, using one of the Simon Says Stamp stamps.

I stamped the Heart from the SSS 'I See You' set with Galaxy Gold Dew Drop ink, and then heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.

The sentiment is from a Verve Stamps set called 'Hundred Hearts'. I stamped this with Versamark ink on to black card and then heat embossed it with True White Fine Detail embossing powder.

I used a 6 x 4 card blank and rounded the corners of the front panel, then finished it off with some gold sequins and flowers.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Rabbit note card

Hello friends!  I'm back at last - did you miss me??

I made this background a while ago using distress inks as watercolours, then sprayed with water.  I then lightly sprayed over again with Mister Huey's opaque white.

The rabbits are from an Avery Elle set called More Stories, and are coloured very lightly with Copic cool grey markers.

I used black cardstock for the grass, and dark grey for the banner and matt.

The sentiment is heat embossed with liquid platinum.

Hope you like it.  TTFN Jude xx

Anniversary heart

Good morning all, hope you have had a great weekend.
Today's card is another anniversary one, but with this stamp it could so easily be used for Valentine's or Mother's day, or any other special occasion.

The stamp is called 'Love Is' by IndigoBlu, and is a really lovely size to use on it's own as the main focus, or you can use it to make backgrounds.

For this card, I stamped the heart with a Pearlescent Crimson Dew Drop ink and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder on to Kraft card.

Kraft card and purple isn't a usual choice for me but I wanted a change so gave it a go and I think they do go together very well.

I used a Crafters Companion sentiment stamp and heat embossed with the same ink. Then I cut the panel out with a Scalloped Square die.

I found a complimentary purple card in the stash and used the slightly larger scalloped square die by Go-Kreate to cut that out. Then I put it all on to a 6 x 6 scalloped Kraft card blank.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.
