Spot the dog

Good morning all, I hope you are having a good week so far.

Today's card is another that I made for my granddaughter's birthday last week, this time using a Spot the Dog Stamp Set called Hello Spot. This set came free with Issue 68 of Creative Stamping Magazine.

I arranged the images and sentiment on to plain white card, and then stamped them using Versafine Onyx Black ink, and then heat embossed them with clear embossing powder.

I coloured the images with Copic and Spectrum Noir markers, and then covered them with a ton of Aqua Shimmer Glitter Gloss Pen from Nuvo. Apologies for the awful picture, but I was trying to capture just how sparkly this shimmer pen is lol. 

Then I used an Avery Elle Wonky Stitched Ellements die to cut the panel to size, and added it to a lilac shimmer note card to finish.

Arts and Crafts Cards

Good morning crafty friends, I hope you have had a great weekend. We haven't been up to much this weekend, but we have a busy couple of weeks ahead with birthdays lol.

Today's cards are a couple that I made from the Hero Arts, My Monthly Hero Kit, for May 2019. It features lots of different crafty images, sentiments and coordinating dies, and while I was making the yellow version for my granddaughter's 7th birthday last week, I decided to make another version and keep it for later on in the year for my niece.

I arranged the different stamps around one of the sentiments using the Misti stamping tool. Then I stamped them with Onyx Black Versafine Ink, and heat embossed them with clear embossing powder.

I coloured the images with Copic markers, and then cut the panels to fit A2 size cards by using an Avery Elle Wonky Stitched Ellements die for the yellow version and an MFT Stitched Rectangle die for the red one.

Then I added one to a yellow note card and one to a red note card, and voila all finished. 

I really must do this more often, make more than one card at once, as it really doesn't take that much longer once you have the idea and set-up.

It's a Girl

Good morning all, and happy Friday, I hope you have had a great week. Today's card was one I made when my daughter was having Willow. In the end this one didn't get used, but it's a nice one to have on hand for work colleagues etc.

I had seen something similar on Pinterest using a stocking die to make a baby boys card, so I looked through my stash to find something I could use.

I found the perfect thing in my Christmas stash, the Lawn Fawn and Simon Says Stamp Merry Christmouse set. I used one of the dies from the set to cut the stocking from cream and pink striped card.  Then I paper-pieced the stripe on top of the cream to look like little baby booties.

I cut a white card panel using an Avery Elle Wonky Stitched Ellements die, and heat embossed a greeting on to this using the Avery Elle City Celebrations stamp set, and Spun Sugar Distress Oxide Ink.

I added fun foam to the back of the panel, and tied a piece of ribbon around the top. This was just a small piece I had left over from a few years ago, which says it's a girl! 

Then I added this on to a pink mat, and used some paper from the stash as a background, before adding it all to a white card blank.

Hyacinths

Hello everyone.  Hope you're not too upset to be back to work after the long Easter weekend!

My card for today was made using inspiration from Cindy Norberg.  Cindy water coloured her card but I loved the idea of stamping a large flower using small ones.

This stamp set is Hello Darling from Simon Says Stamps April card kit.  I stamped one of the small flowers using two distress oxides (worn lipstick and picked raspberry) layered together for some subtle tone. 

The stalks are stamped in lucky clover and mowed lawn, using a stamp set from Altenew.

The sentiment is from Simply Said by Avery Elle.  I embossed this using Tonic glacier white embossing powder then added this with foam squares.

I added some Nuvo drops for the flower centres and to add some interest then backed the panel with black card before adding to a white base.

Baby Shower

Good morning all, and happy hump day, I hope you are having a good week so far.

Today's card is one I made at the last minute on Saturday for a surprise Baby Shower for my daughter K. The shower was arranged by her work friends, and although I knew about it for a week before, I forgot about making a card lol.

I used stamps from an older Creative Stamping Magazine, Issue 38, called Whatever the Weather. I started by heat embossing the umbrella with Versafine Onyx Black ink, and Wow Clear Sparkle Embossing Powder.

Then I added the pattern to it with Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide Ink and more of the embossing powder, before cutting it out by hand.

I cut a plain white panel using a Wonky Stitched Ellements die from Avery Elle, and added three clouds cut with the Lawn Fawn Hello Sunshine set. Then I stamped the little rain drops and hearts with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink.

I added the Baby Shower Sentiment, and then popped it onto a pink A2 note card.

Mother's Day Carnations

Good morning crafty friends, I hope you are having a good week so far. We are off work this week as it's half term for all of the grand kiddies now, so we are off to the cinema today, and hopefully out for some fresh air tomorrow.

Anyway, today's card is another that I made for Mother's day last week. I used the Carnation Signature Die from Joanna Sheen, and cut them a few times from white card and then just the top once from a yellow card.

I stacked the die cuts together with Nuvo clear glue, and then cut the petals out of the yellow flower to sit on top of one of the white ones, just to give it a pop of colour. 

I arranged my flowers towards the bottom of a green side-fold note card and then cut off the excess stems.

For the sentiment, I stacked a couple of Mum die cuts from Crafter's Companion onto a piece of white card, and then stamped the rest of the message using the Avery Elle City Celebrations stamp set. Then I matted this with yellow and green card and added it to my note card.

A very simple card to make, but I love the effect of those stacked white flowers on the green card.

Exotic Tulips for Mother's Day

Good morning all and happy Monday or April Fools day, I hope you have had a great weekend. As it was Mother's Day here in the UK yesterday, today's card is the one I made for my mum.

I used the Altenew Exotic Tulips stamp, Die, and Mask set, which is so lovely. I love the fact the masks are included so you don't have to make your own to stamp bunches of flowers.

I stamped the leaves with Prickly Pear and Fern Green Blendable Dye Inks from Wendy Vecchi, then the petals with the same make of ink in Poppy and Red Geranium. 

 To finish off the petals I added a little Cosmic Berry Crisp Dye Ink from Altenew's, Rose Petal set.

I cut the panel to size using an Avery Elle Wonky Stitched Ellements die, and placed the panel on to a plain red card blank. Then I added a few clear dew drops and a simple Mother's Day sentiment from Avery Elle's City Celebrations set, to finish.

Coffee and Friends

Good morning all, I hope you have had a good weekend. Today's card uses the My Monthly Hero Kit from August 2018.

I stamped my images and then coloured them with Copic markers, before cutting them out with their matching dies.

For the background I used a brick effect stencil with Distress Oxide Inks, which I think were Antique Linen and a touch of Tea Dye.

I then cut the panel out with an Avery Elle Wonky Stitched Ellements Die, and added my coffees on top using foam adhesive on some for dimension.

Then I stamped one of the sentiments from the kit using, Simon Says Stamp Emboss Ink, and heat embossing it with gold embossing powder.

Then I added it to an A2 note card and popped a few matte gold sequins on to finish.

Kitsch Bambi

Good morning all, I hope you have had a good weekend, and managed to fit in some crafty time. I managed to pull together a few Christmas cards this week from all of the bits and pieces that have been taking up space on my desk for the last few weeks, so at least I made some progress lol. 

Today's card was made with the Avery Elle Kitsch Christmas stamp set, I love this 'Bambi' image, and for those of us over a certain age, the 'Babysham' deer lol.  

I stamped the image onto plain white card using Onyx Black Versafine Ink, and then heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. Then I stamped the deer again onto masking paper and cut it out by hand. 

I used the mask over my deer so I could add the Lawn Fawn snowy backdrop stamp from the Snow Cool set, using Versamark ink and white embossing powder, then I inked the background using Distress Oxide inks, and coloured my images with Copic Markers. 

I die-cut the panel with an MFT Stitched Rectangle die and then drew in a snow line with a black fine liner pen. Then I finished it off with a few Studio Katia Iridescent Snowflakes.
