And they're off.....

I can't quite believe that after almost 2 years in the planning, a lot of hard work and an awful lot of saving. My son and daughter in law are heading off around the world today, they are going to be away for about a year !

We all got together last night and celebrated with a lovely meal at a local pub/restaurant, and just spent some time together which was lovely.

They will be blogging about their adventures at a new website that Dan has set up, and it enables me to picture exactly where they are going and what countries are coming up next. I think they are going to approximately 16 different countries, starting in Hong Kong for the New Year. If you would like to have a look at what they are up to, you can follow them here at: passportandpants. They will be adding more countries as they go along.

Saying goodbye this morning hasn't been easy, and I must admit I am going to miss them both soooooo much. But I know they will have the experience of a lifetime, and we will talk and text, and skype whenever possible, so that I can keep up to date with their antics lol.

Hope you are all having a good week. take care and I'll see you soon.

MFT Elves

Good morning all and Merry Christmas. I hope you have all had a lovely holiday, however you spend it.

Ours has been spent with family, and has been thoroughly enjoyed. We have spent too much, eaten too much, and some have definitely drank too much lol, but we have been together and happy, which to me is all that matters.

Today's card is one of a set that I made for the younger members of the family. They were all made using the same stamp and die sets, but all different. This one went to my great niece, I hope you like it too.

The cover up behind the elf is an MFT one, cut three times using different coloured card and paper and then pieced back together on a double sided adhesive sheet.

I used the MFT Santa's Elves stamp and die sets for the characters and coloured them all in with Copic Markers, Wink of Stella pens and a white gel pen.

Then I added a simple die-cut sentiment and some festive Candy to finish it off.

Hope you like it, take care and have a very good week.

See you soon, take care.

Santa's Elf

Happy Christmas Eve eve!

I made this card for my brother to give to Jen and Alan.

This lovely little elf is from a wonderful set by My Favorite Things called Santa's Elves. I decided to colour him in shades of green using Copic markers.

I cut two snow banks and added a little Christmas tree.  I placed a few presents underneath and some glitter to the branches.

I then added some glitter pen to the elves hat, the stocking and the presents, before adding them to a blue shimmery card.

The sentiment is from a set by Just Rite called Christmas Blessings.  I embossed this with white embossing powder by Simon Says Stamp.

I like how it turned out and hope you do too.

Quick birthday card

I thought you might like a break from Christmas cards!

This little card is based on one Jen made recently for her grandson.

The colours and design are based on the shield of the character Captain America.

I sandwiched a circle of white card between two pieces of dark blue, then added a red star.

With a white embossed sentiment from Clearly Besotted and a red base the card was finished.  It probably took me less than 10 minutes.  How's that for quick?

Hope you like it.  TTFN Jude xx

Deer in the snow

Hello all.  Are you ready for Christmas yet?

I’m just about sorted and have finally finished my cards.

These two turned out just as I envisaged.  I saw a card very similar on Pinterest and decided to try it.

This lovely little deer comes from a Clearly Besotted set called Deer to Me.  The sentiment is from a Lawn Fawn set called Cheery Christmas.

I white embossed a piece of dark blue card stock for the background then added trees and a snow bank.  I placed this behind the circle aperture cut in some white card.

I stamped the sentiment underneath and placed the little deer above.

I think it is a really sweet little card.  What do you think?

Christmas Tree Silhouette Scene

Good morning all. I hope you are having a good week so far.

Today's card was made using a few different Marianne Designs dies with a couple of punches too.

I used a Christmas tree die to cut an aperture in a piece of white card. Then using the Village and Tree border dies I cut a couple of layers to sit inside the frame.

Then I used some copper coloured mirror card behind the panel and punched a couple of tiny Christmas trees to sit inside too.

I cut a piece of acetate to cover the opening and lots of foam tape behind and then added a few tiny seed beads to make the shaker.

Then I finished it off with a few punched snowflakes and a Lawn Fawn sentiment. Hope you like it. Take care and I'll see you soon.

Minecraft Creeper Card

Good morning all, sorry for the slightly later than normal posting, guess what???? I forgot again !!!!! Oh dear, never mind, at least it is still morning this time lol.

Right, onto today's card. This is one I made for my grandson after seeing this lovely Minecraft card on Pinterest.

I used what I had to attempt something similar. Now I know it's not as professional as the other one, but my grandson loved it, so that's all that matters to me.

I followed the instructions given, but just adapted to fit my tools etc. I used the Tim Holtz brick wall embossing folder, cut down to size to fit an A2 card blank.

I cut into the wall with my Kraft knife, and then laid grey card underneath and drew inside the cut out, just leaving an overhang on the tops and sides of the exposed bricks.

Then I used a pencil to give a bit of depth to the edges. It was really a case of doing a bit, seeing what it looked like, adapting and then doing a bit more. I'm no artist, so depth perception etc does not come easily to me. But I did my best :)

Then I used green, black and grey card to make the little creeper fellow behind and a ton of foam tape to lift the wall up in front. I was able to download a Minecraft font from the web to use for the greeting, which I then printed in black and green.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Icy Blue

Good morning all, I hope you have all had a good week and are looking forward to the weekend.

Today's card is something a little different for me. It's quite dainty and delicate looking, two things of which I am neither lol ...😉

I used the Marianne, trees and houses border dies, together with the Avery Elle Stitched Border Trio, to make a little snowy scene.

I then used a Zig Zag Stitched Circle to cut out pale blue card, and used a Tonic Studios tiny snowflake punch in the background.

I layered all of this onto a Spellbinders Lacey Circle die, cut in white card and then popped them all on to a pale blue Stitched Rectangle mat on a white card base.

Then I used another small Tonic punch to punch the tiny penguin in the front. I finished it off with a Molly Moo Stamps sentiment on a Stitched Banner die cut, and a few snow droplets.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

To Mum

Good morning all.

Today I have another of Jen's birthday cards to share with you.

This card was made using the Simon Says Stamp set called Flowers On My Mind.  I stamped with an Altenew grey ink set on to silver grey card.

The sentiment is from another SSS set on green card which I cut with a fishtail banner die.

The flowers were added on foam squares for some dimension then Spectrum Noir sparkle pen added for some shine.

Once it was decided that this card would be from my nephew and his wife, I added the Mum sentiment from silver shimmer card.  I cut three layers to add some depth to the die cut.

The card was finished with a few drops of white opal Liquid Pearls.

Silly Deer

Good morning, I hope you are all well and having a good week. Sorry I have been missing in action the last couple of days. But I have had a bit on my plate lately and some things have had to give. But Jude did an excellent job of stepping in for me when I forgot to blog lol.

Anyway, today's card is back to using those super cute Lawn Fawn deer again. I do love how you can combine elements from different sets to make a card.

On this card I used the Cheery Christmas and the Toboggan Together sets. I printed and die cut the images and coloured them with Copic markers.

Then I blended Distress Inks for the background and cut it out with a Circle die.

I used the Avery Elle Wonky Ellements for the red base and the Lawn Fawn Scripty Sayings for the sentiment.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.
