Teenager Warning ....

Good morning all, I hope you are having a good week. Today's card is one I made for my grandson last month, but I have been having problems getting the pictures bright enough to use on the blog. The weather was so horrible and grey the last week of January here, that all of my images that I took that week have this awful blue/grey tinge to them.

Anyway, I got this idea from Pinterest, for a teenager warning card, and then I just adapted it slightly to suit my grandson. 

I mocked up the images on the PC and printed them on to glossy photo paper. Then I cut the main image out with a circle die from Spellbinders, so that I could raise it on fun foam for a bit of dimension.

I cut out the text section in to a rectangle leaving a white border, and then ended up raising it the same way using fun foam for dimension. Then I added the panel to a 6 x 4 white note card to finish.

Birthday Chick

Good morning all, you have me again today. I hope you are having a good week so far.

Today's card is another I made for my beautiful great niece who turned 7 on Sunday. This one uses the Birthday Chicks stamp set from MFT Stamps.

I stamped the images using Tuxedo Black Memento ink and then coloured them with Copic Markers. Then I used a Spellbinders Labels 28 die to cut the shape out. 

I used a pale blue note card, and topped it with some blue circle paper, and then added my label with foam tape.

Then I fussy cut the balloon and attached it onto the card with a foam pad and wet glue, and added a die-cut number 7 on the front.

To finish it off I stamped one of the sentiments included with the kit, mounted it on pale blue card and placed it on the card front underneath the images.

Birthday Chick

Good morning all, and welcome to the start of another week. If like us you are having some seriously warm weather, I hope you can enjoy it. I have had my granddaughters here for the last couple of days, so it's nice that they can get outside and play.  

Today's card is one of the ones I made for my daughter's 30th birthday last week. I used the Birthday Chicks stamp set from MFT Stamps.

I used a Die Cut Label from Spellbinders, and stamped the chicks with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, then I coloured them with Copic Markers.

As I don't have the dies to go with this set, I cut the little balloon out by hand, which is why it's a bit messy lol. Then I added small black 30 stickers to it, and a small pearl heart.

For the background I used a piece of patterned paper from a Simon Says Stamp kit from last year. I really love the dark blue with the Rose Gold stripe. I die cut, it with an MFT Blueprints stitched rectangle die, and put it onto a plain white card base.

Then I stamped one of the sentiments from the set, and mounted it with rose gold card, then added this and the main panel to the background using foam tape for dimension.

3D Embossing Folders

Good morning all, I hope you are having a good week. Today's card is one I tried after watching another of Jennifer McGuire's fabulous videos.

It uses one of the new 3D embossing Folders from Tim Holtz, this one came in a recent Simon Says Stamp kit. 

I inked the flat side of the folder with Simon Says Stamp, Pale Blush Pink ink, and then put a piece of plain white card inside and ran it through the Bigshot.

The resulting look from the white embossed flowers and the coloured background is really lovely, so I will definitely be trying this again.

I then used a Spellbinders frame die in 2 different sizes to cut the centre piece, I cut 4 of these and layered them together for dimension.

Then I added a sentiment made from a Lil Inker's, Ever die and stamp set, and a Clearly Besotted stamp set. The Ever is coloured with the same blush pink ink, applied to the die cut directly from the ink pad, which makes it look darker!

Then all it needed to finished it off was a few plain dewdrops. Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Bike ride

Good morning all, I hope you are all having a good week. Today's card came from seeing a  card that Vicky Papaioannou made for a recent blog hop, and knowing that I had a bicycle die, I thought I could make something similar.

I've had the bicycle die for a few years, I think it's an MFT Stamps die, but not 100% sure.

I cut the bike from a rose gold card from Tonic Studios, then cut a stitched rectangle panel using an MFT Stamps Blueprints die for the background, from the same card stock.

The shaped die cut is from an old Spellbinders set, which I think is Labels 28. I cut this from white shimmer card and then punched a couple of small hearts from the same card.

The little sentiment stamps are from the Mini Messages set by Mama Elephant, I stamped them on to the heart, then tied them to the bike with white twine, then I added a couple of orange gems to finish it off.

Happy Birthday Mate

Good morning folks, I hope you are all having a good week so far.

Today's card is one I made for my Nephew's birthday last week, from his uncle, using stamps from a previous copy of Creative Stamping magazine.

I thought this was an appropriate image from uncle to nephew, so I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and then coloured it with Copic Markers.

I used a wood effect paper to stamp the porthole image on, and then cut it out with 2 different sized Spellbinders Circle dies.

I also cut the the same shape again in craft foam, so that I could raise the porthole off the main image, then added a circle of acetate in between the layers, so that it looks like a window.

I stamped the sentiment underneath and then added the rope image to finish it off. I think this is a really nice simple card suitable for males of most ages.

Anniversary Love Birds

Good morning folks, I hope you have had a good weekend, and a good start to the week. 

Today's card is an anniversary card that I made recently, however, the design is so simple it could easily have lots of other sentiments on it.

I started by using Alcohol Inks on glossy paper to blend a background. I used Lettuce, Meadow, and Sunshine Yellow, with a few drops of Silver Mixative, and swiped it over the paper in one direction. 

I trimmed the panel down and cut it out with a Stitched Rectangle die and then added a larger white mat behind it, before adding them to a green note card.

The tree is a Spellbinders Die-D-Lites die, and the birds are fussy cut from a Marianne Designs Birdhouse stamp set, coloured with Copic markers and then covered in Glossy Accents.

I stamped the Happy Anniversary sentiment on to plain white card and then cut it out with an MFT Stamps Stitched Banner Die.

Hello I’m back with a simple card today. 

I used a Spellbinders die to cut the star from some gorgeous sparkle paper. 

The sentiment is from a Tim Holtz collection from a few years ago which has some lovely large stamps. 

I stamped this with Archival ink. 

I adhered the star on some foam squares above the greeting. 

The finishing touch was a few drops of Nuvo white blizzard.
