Have a hoot on your birthday

Good morning all, hope you are well. Today's card was inspired by one that the lovely Liz McGuire made over on Buttons for Brains.

I needed a quick birthday card so I went with a version of Liz's card, however hers is much cuter than mine. My owl looks a little sinister or butch lol.

He's from a stamp set that came with a stamping mag last year. I haven't used him before but once I'd done him I wished I'd picked one a bit cuter lol.

I coloured him with Copics and then cut the image out with a Spellbinders circle die.

The leaves are cut with the Sue Wilson Leaves die, and the sentiment stamp is from a Woodware stamp set.

I stamped him again on the inside and this time he doesn't look as menacing lol.

I used a dark red card for the matting and layering and a 6 x 6 card blank.

I didn't end up sending the card in the end, couldn't quite bring myself to give someone the butch owl!

Anyway, hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Beads beads and more beads

Good morning, hope you are all having a good week. I have been a bit under the weather so haven't been up to much crafting this week. However I did manage to get the beads out as I needed to make a few pieces.

Mum had asked for some chunky jewellery, so I had a go at a really chunky necklace with beads that were gifted to me by a friend of Mum's.

I also made a bracelet to match.

The beads are a really lovely shade of green/yellow, I think olive best describes them.

I made her a tiny pair of earrings to match, as with a chain that big you really don't want big earrings too.

I dug out some of my antique silver coloured beads and spacers and I think it turned out really well.

Hope mum likes it too as she hasn't seen it yet lol.

I was also asked to make a couple of bracelet and earring sets for two bridesmaids who will be wearing navy blue.

So I made one of them a two row bracelet and the other a three row.

I used navy blue and off white pearls, with crystal spacers.

Then I made them a couple of pairs of earrings to match.

The bride also asked for a neutral set for a friend of hers so I made her a bracelet with off white and peach pearls.

and of course earrings to match.

I will be wearing blue to the wedding with gold and bronze accents so I made myself a set too.

Nothing too fancy just fairly simple for me, ( like me) ;o))

I also made a little pair of blue earrings for mum with some new heart beads I had picked up.

I thought I would throw in this pic of them all on the jewellery stand, just so you could see the snow we have outside at the min lol.

Hope you're all staying safe and warm, take care and I'll see you soon.

Jammin'

The image on my card today is Angie Jam from Saturated Canary.
I've had this image coloured for quite some time and she has finally made it on to a card :)

One of the Lili of the Valley pads I bought at the weekend is called On a High Note and I thought this was perfect for Angie.  She gives me that hipster, rock chick vibe lol.

What do you think?

Anyway if all has gone to plan, as you read this, I am on a train to Birmingham for a work meeting.  Unfortunately the weather forecast says we are getting some snow overnight, and there may be travel disruptions.  Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Sailing

Good morning everyone, hope you are well and having a good week.

It was my eldest grandson's 9th Birthday yesterday, so this is the card that me and his grandad sent him.

It was only when I was making cards for Cody that I realised we don't have that many images for boys/men so this will have to be rectified soon lol. Anyway this image is a pre-coloured one from a Lili of the Valley artpad.

I used an MFT Blueprints set to cut the stitched rectangles and the papers are from the Ahoy There paper pad by Docrafts.

I used a dark blue card to back it all and cut the word tags, then I added it to a 7 x 7 card blank.

I had the little wooden nautical embellishments in the stash and thought they went well with this card.

The Happy Birthday and Grandson are cut from Coredinations card using Britannia dies and the tags are cut with the MFT Blueprints set.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

La Bicyclette

On Sunday Jen and I visited the Ross Paper Craft Show in Sheffield.  We had a really good few hours wandering around and spending far too much lol.  I was lucky enough to win £20 of vouchers to spend at the show in the prize draw and spent it at the Lili of the Valley stand.
This is what I bought.

I'm looking forward to some lovely makes with these.

My card was made before we went shopping so I didn't use any of the new purchases.

This one is for a colleague who is a keen cyclist.

I made the sentiment in Word and printed it on white card.

The bicycles are a die Jen bought a little while ago from Die-namics at My Favourite Things.

It's a simple make but I'm sure Phil will appreciate it.

That's all for today.  TTFN Jude xx

Sweet Blossom

Good morning all. Another week rolls around and back to work lol.

Today's card is one I made for my future daughter in law who's birthday was yesterday.

I used the lovely Sweet Blossom digi stamp from Wee Stamps and coloured her with Copic markers.

The sentiment stamp is from a Creative Expressions set called Sincere Sentiments.

I used an MFT swirl leaf die and then a flower die from the MFT Blueprints 3 set. Then I topped the flower with a small white fabric flower and a yellow rose.

I added a couple more yellow roses and then the little bow which is again from the MFT Blueprints 3  set.

I used a dark teal glossy card for the background and then papers from a pad called Fantastic Foils.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.
