Football Crazy

Good morning folks and happy hump day! I hope you are all having a good week. Tomorrow is my youngest grandson’s 8th birthday so today’s card is one that I made for him from his mamma (my mum).

I used a Marianne Designs embossing folder with a hexagon shape for the background. Then I used it’s matching die to cut some black hexagons and stuck them on in a pattern to make it look like a football.

I did the same for the football and cut it out with a circle die, and then drew in the black lines between the hexagons with a black fine liner.

The grass is cut with an MFT Grassy Edges die, in a few different shades of green card.

Then I cut the sentiment using a Clearly Besotted die set in green and black card. I slightly offset the black behind the green to give it a bit of shadow and depth.

Then I added a simple diecut 8 to the football and layered in onto a green card base with a black stitched mat.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Autumnal Wreath

Hello friends and thank you for visiting us today.

My last card for this month is this autumnal looking wreath made with the Simon Says Stamp Nuts About You card kit from October.

I do love a nicely done wreath and I loved putting all the little stamps to use on this one.

I used several different Memento inks - Morocco, Potter's Clay, Rhubarb Stalk, Lady Bug, Cottage Ivy and Cantaloupe.

To add a little more interest I gold embossed one of the stamps and the sentiment.

I'm really pleased with the effect of this one.  Hope you like it too.

Poinsettias All Around

Good morning, hope you are all well and had a great weekend. I have had my grandsons over for a quick visit, as it's the youngest's birthday on Thursday. It was so lovely to see them, and for them to spend some time with their cousins.

Anyway, on to today's cards. I have three for you today as they are all using the same diecuts, just done slightly differently.

The poinsettia is a Memory Box stamp and die set, that we have had for a couple of years. For this card I heat embossed it with Simon Says Stamp Rose Gold Embossing Powder.

For this card I stamped it straight on to a red shimmer cardstock and then layered it with a red sparkle cardstock. I love the red and gold combo, and the tiny yellow brads in the centre.

The Embossing folder is the same on these two cards. It's a Crafter's Companion, split snowflake and snow folder with a plain strip in the middle, which is perfect for adding tape or ribbon.

For this final card, I stamped the poinsettia onto plain white card and then coloured two layers with green and red Wink of Stella pens. Then I layered them onto a red glitter layer, and added tiny homemade enamel dots to the centre with Nuvo Crystal Drops.

For all the cards I used a Merry Christmas die from a Frozen Forest set and the fern leaves are a Britannia die.

Hope you like them, take care and I'll see you soon.

Football fanatic

Hurrah for Fridays!  Unfortunately I have to go back to work next week as my hand has healed enough, but I have had some good crafting time while I've been off :)

Next week my youngest nephew, Bailey, will be eight years old.  As he, his Mum and big brother don't live locally, we don't see them as often as we would like, but they are all coming over this weekend.

While he is here we will hold a little celebration for him with cake and candles!

As he loves his football, I thought this Lili of the Valley image was perfect for his card.
The original is grey and white but I've coloured over with blue to match his team colours.  He's a Toffee!! (That's an Everton fan to the uninitiated - lol)

I repeat stamped the background with a Studio Calico stamp before adding the figure with some foam squares.

Hope you like it.  TTFN Jude xx

Happy Birthday Fishes

Good morning folks, I hope you are all having a good week.

I thought I would give you a little break from my Christmas cards and show you one of my recent birthday card makes.

A good friend of my son and daughter-in-law, asked for a couple of cards for her dad's 60th birthday and this is one of them.

I used a digi stamp that came with an old version of Complete Cardmaking, as I needed a fishing image and I only have one stamp. Unfortunately I had already used this for the same family earlier this year! lol.  Anyway I really like this little fella, so all is good. 😉

I coloured him with Copic markers and then cut him out with a stitched border frame. Then I added him to an olive green card blank and put some Glossy Accents on parts of his fishing rod and the fishes eye.

Then I made up the sentiment on the PC and printed it to match, then cut it out with an MFT Stitched Banner die. To finish it off I added 60 using green flocked thick numbers.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Birthday bear

Hello all.  Me again.  Hope you are all having a good week so far?

Today's card uses one of the cuddly critters from a Simon Says Stamp set Jen bought me for my birthday in July.

I coloured him with Copic markers (E35, 37 and 57) then added him to a banner cut with a stitched flag die. The sentiment is from a Wplus9 set called Curious Forest Friends.

The background is made using a sentiment from a set by Clearly Besotted called Laugh Out Loud.  I repeat stamped it using three memento inks and the MISTI.  I do love using this for repeat stamping. It makes it easy to line up the rows.

Hope you like it.  TTFN Jude xx

Winter Wonderland

Good morning all, I hope you are well and having a good week. I am back at work this week  ðŸ˜ž, so not much crafty time for me, but hopefully I will get to play at the weekend 😊.

Today's card is using the cute Lawn Fawn Toboggan Together set for the little deer, and the Cheery Christmas set for the tree.

They are stamped with Memento inks and the deer is coloured with Copic markers. For the background I used a Spellbinders Bauble die to cut a shape in a piece of shimmer card. Then I ran that piece through a snowflake embossing folder.

I used Marianne Design Dies to cut the little houses and trees, and teamed them with the Mama Elephant Stitched Border Trio for the snowy banking.

I arranged it all on a dark blue card blank and added a piece of pale blue dotty paper to the background.

Then I added the Lawn Fawn sentiment, which I cut in to two pieces, a few snowflakes and a scalloped border to finish it off.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Inlaid Star

Hello everyone.  I need to say a big thank you to Jen for covering for me last week. I'm actually not doing too badly this time following the surgery to my left hand.

Today's card is for our Uncle Alan who is celebrating his 73rd birthday today.  He's still working even though he has suffered from ill health for a long time.  He will be taking today off though so that he and my Aunt can go out for the day.

This card is made using a paper and the die from the Simon Says Stamp August 2016 card kit.  I love this star.
For this design I cut it out twice - once from patterned paper and once from red card.

I used the pieces from the red to inlay in the blue paper.  This was quite fiddly but I really like the effect.

The stars and sentiment are from another SSS stamp set, heat embossed in snow white embossing powder.

Hope you like the finished card.  TTFN Jude xx

Sing as if no-one is listening

Good morning all, are you glad it's Friday? I'm not as that means my week off is over and it's back to work on Monday lol.

I thought I'd give you a little break from the Christmas cards and share this lovely Altenew Winter Cardinal with you today instead.

I stamped him with Altenew Inks using the pink and red tones. Then for the final layer, I stamped it with Versamark ink and heat embossed it with SSS Rose Gold embossing powder.

I used a small deckled card base and inked all around the edge with Altenew Blush Crisp Dye ink, then stamped the branch and berries directly onto the card front, again using the Altenew inks.

I sat my cardinal on the branch and then added little accents of white gel pen to the berries, to make them a little more life-like.

Then I picked one of the sentiments from the set and stamped it under the branch.

Hope you like it, take care and have a great weekend.

See you soon.
