Cornflower Poppies

Good morning all, I hope everyone had a good weekend, and a good start to the week.

Today's card was made with the Clearly Besotted Pure Poppies stamp and die set. But for something a bit different, I decided to stamp the poppies using blue inks. So they are more Cornflower Poppies lol.

I used Altenew Crisp Dye Inks, from the Deep Blue Seas set, to stamp the poppies on to white card. I masked and stamped until I was happy with the bunch, and then added in the stems with Altenew Inks from the Tropical Forest set.

I stamped a couple of the poppies onto a separate piece of card, and die cut them, to raise them on top of my panel.

Then I cut the panel down to fit an A2 note card, and used striped Washi Tape down each side as a background.

Then to finish it off, I stamped the sentiment from the Altenew Family Matters set, in matching inks.

Football fanatic

Hurrah for Fridays!  Unfortunately I have to go back to work next week as my hand has healed enough, but I have had some good crafting time while I've been off :)

Next week my youngest nephew, Bailey, will be eight years old.  As he, his Mum and big brother don't live locally, we don't see them as often as we would like, but they are all coming over this weekend.

While he is here we will hold a little celebration for him with cake and candles!

As he loves his football, I thought this Lili of the Valley image was perfect for his card.  

The original is grey and white but I've coloured over with blue to match his team colours.  He's a Toffee!! (That's an Everton fan to the uninitiated - lol)

I repeat stamped the background with a Studio Calico stamp before adding the figure with some foam squares.

Birthday bear

Hello all.  Me again.  Hope you are all having a good week so far?

Today's card uses one of the cuddly critters from a Simon Says Stamp set Jen bought me for my birthday in July.

I coloured him with Copic markers (E35, 37 and 57) then added him to a banner cut with a stitched flag die. The sentiment is from a Wplus9 set called Curious Forest Friends.

The background is made using a sentiment from a set by Clearly Besotted called Laugh Out Loud.  I repeat stamped it using three memento inks and the MISTI.  I do love using this for repeat stamping. It makes it easy to line up the rows.

Bugs and birthdays

Hello again.  Today I have another card made for Keira's birthday tomorrow.

This scene was made using the adorable little bugs from Clearly Besotted's Cute as a Bug stamp and die sets.

I stamped each of the critters using memento ink and coloured with Copic markers.  I added a little clear Wink of Stella to the wings of the bee and dragonfly, unfortunately it doesn't show in the pictures.

The white embossed sentiment is from the same set but the Happy Birthday came from another Clearly Besotted set called Laugh Out Loud.

I cut a cloud stencil and inked with Altenew dye ink in sea glass then cut the hillside using one of the Mama Elephant border trio dies.

Monkey business

Good morning all.  This is my last post before we head off on holiday and Jen takes over the blog with the gazillion cards she has in draft! Lol :)

Last weekend Jen's daughter Kayleigh celebrated her 28th birthday.  This is the card I made.

I used a piece of raspberry cardstock as the background and added a die cut made with the stitched border trio set from Mama Elephant.  I was going to cut the cloud effect border for the top but then remembered some small card blanks we have with a decorative edge.  I thought one of these was perfect for the top of the card.

The monkey and balloons are both from Mama Elephants Up and Away stamp and die set.

I used Copic markers to colour them then used the matching dies to cut them out.  The sentiment is also from this set.

A few sparkly diamante dots finish it off nicely.

Embossing on vellum

Good morning all, I hope you are having a good week. Apologies for the late post today, a bit of a mix up in who was supposed to be blogging lol. But better late than never I hope.

Anyway I am on the count down now as it's 2 weeks tomorrow until our holiday and I can't wait. A week in the Spanish sunshine is just what the doctor ordered at the moment ;o))

Today's card is one I made for mum to give Jude for her birthday on Sunday. I used a good quality vellum and the Mama Elephant Organic Blooms stamp and stamped it with Versamark ink. Then I heat embossed it with Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder.

I do love this colour as it's somewhere in between gold and silver and gives a really lovely effect. 

I used a thick navy blue textured card for the base and made a sentiment using the Crafter's Companion Sentimentals Female set and the Clearly Besotted Mini Heroes set.  

I cut around the embossed image freehand and then stuck this to the card front. I tried a mixture of wet glue and glue tape to try and get an adhesive that doesn't show through the vellum, but nothing I had worked. So I need to investigate this more lol.

But I got around it a bit by adding lots of sparkly sequins and dew drops.

Bee happy

Good morning all, I hope you have had a good weekend. Yesterday was Jude's birthday so we all went out for a family meal at a very nice country pub/restaurant. They gave us a private room upstairs as there was 15 of us and the food was excellent. So a very nice time was had by all. 

Today's card is one I made for Jude from our brother John. I used the bee and cloud from the Lawn Fawn Hello Sunshine set and coloured the bees with Copic Markers.

The bee and honeycomb papers are from a Pebbles Inc pad called Garden Party, and I layered them with some orange Coredinations card.

I had my first attempt at a slider card, and I'm pretty happy with how it's turned out. I used a circle frame die from an MFT Stamps Blueprints Dienamics set, and cut the bee papers and card so I had 3 layers.

Then I used 5 pence pieces in the channel as pennies were a little big for this. I used two for each bee and cloud and joined them together with a foam circle. 

Then I raised the outer layer and inner circle on foam tape to create the channel in the centre for the coins to move around. The sentiments came from the Gnome Sweet Gnome Lawn Fawn set and the Simon Says Stamp, Happy and Smile set.

Butterfly floral

It's Friday - and about time too :)

Today I have the last of Mum's birthday cards (from me that is!)

This one uses a piece of designer paper from the stash which already had the border strip attached.

I used a piece of matching card stock to stamp the sentiment on and raised them on foam pads.

The vellum butterfly cam out of our random shapes box.  I'm not sure of its origins but I thought it was pretty.

Princess Isabelle

It is Friday again and almost the end of my week's holiday.  Why does the working week not pass as quickly?

Today's card was made for Jen's granddaughter Isabelle's 4th birthday last weekend.  This is the start of lots of birthday weekends for us.  June is a very busy month!!

The idea came from a card I found on Pinterest and was quite simple to replicate.  The crown is a Spellbinder die and the stars are from an X-cut set.

We don't have a princess stamp so I hand wrote that part of the sentiment.  I then added a few bits of diamond bling for some sparkle.

Happy birthday owl and bird

Good morning all I hope you have had a good week. 

Today's card is a simple male card made from a few different stamp and die sets. 

The bird and owl are from an MFT Stamp set called Things with Wings. 

The happy and birthday sentiments are from a Clearly Besotted set and are stamped with Paris Dusk and Tuxedo Black Memento ink. 

The balloons are from a Wplus9 and a Lawn Fawn set and everything is coloured with Copic markers. Then I added lots of Wink of Stella to the balloons to make them shimmer. 

Finally the backgrounds are cut with the Avery Elle Wonky Stitched frames from coordinating card and then I added it all to a yellow A2 card blank.
