Wedding wishes

Friday at last!  I hope you have something fun planned for the weekend.

My niece and her family are off to the wedding of their good friends Rob and Sam, and this is the card I made for the happy couple.

The image is one I've used quite a bit for wedding cards.  It is a Tiddly Inks image called You and Me Baby, coloured in greys and silvers with a layer of Wink of Stella in silver.

I used liquid silver shimmer card for the mount and added it to a 15 x 15 cm card blank.

To make it a little more interesting the mount was cut over sized and and angled across the card blank.

The sentiment and the verse inside, are both from a Simon Says Stamp set called Congratulations.  This was part of a card kit from last year.

The sentiment is embossed with Ranger liquid platinum embossing powder.

To finish off I added some flat gems.

Hope you like it.  TTFN Jude xx

Old truck

Hello again!
I'm back today with a card I made for my brother's birthday last week.

The image is My Dad's Truck from Tiddly Inks, but I covered over the word Dad with my sentiment banner!

The papers and card stock are from the stash.

I love multi layered cards like this as they are so versatile.

Hope you like it.

30 day colouring challenge

So far this month I have managed to colour or paint something every day  following the Daily Marker 30 day colouring challenge hosted by Kathy Racoosin over at The Daily Marker.

IMG_0795

My day one image was this Tiddly Inks image called Wryn Spring Bling.  This was the original image.

This is what I did with her :)

I took some purple card and a paper from the stash to make this simple card.

The sentiment is from Studio Calico and is embossed with gold Colour Craft embossing powder.

She will now be added to my collection ready for the appropriate time to give her to someone.

Keep on truckin'

As Jen told you yesterday, we are off on a relaxing girl's weekend at a country park in Lincolnshire.  This means no crafting all weekend!!   As such I've had to drag in a card I wasn't due to share yet :) This is another for Jamie's birthday next weekend.

I used a Tiddly Inks image called My Dad's Truck that I've had for ages, and just covered over the sentiment.

The background papers are from a set called Man Made by First Edition.  I just used red and navy card stock to tie everything together.

I think this could be a lovely Father's Day or Dad's birthday card.  What do you think?

On Your Wedding Day

Yesterday we celebrated the marriage of Jen's son Daniel and his beautiful bride, Staci.
The ceremony was at a gorgeous stately hall with stunning grounds, pictures of which will follow at the weekend.

One of the many cards we made for the happy couple was this one using You and Me by Tiddly Inks.
I love this image and think it is suitable for engagement or anniversary cards as well as weddings.

For this version I've used a peachy pink for the dress but I've tried it in several different shades, including grey.  Each time I think I can't like it any more, but I do!

The sentiment is from a Digi Stamp Boutique set I bought last week and the papers are from a Santoro paper pad called If Only....

I love to put something nice inside a card and this time I printed the sentiment on a liner page.

Staci and Daniel will only get to see their cards quickly today as they fly off to Brazil later this evening.  They are spending the first days of their honeymoon at the Rio carnival!!  Hopefully they will have a fantastic time.

That's it for today so I'll catch you again at the weekend.  TTFN Jude xx

Thinking of you

I have another card using the fabulous Wryn Spring Bling from Tiddly Inks to share with you today.

I enjoyed colouring this one at New Year, following the tutorial from Alyce Keegan of Kit and Clowder.

I used the My Favourite Things Blueprints #13 again to cut the layers and embellishments.

The sentiment is from the stamps free with Creative Stamping Issue 22 which I bought this week.
It has some lovely images which I will be using over the next few weeks.

So there she is.  Hope you like this little card.

Colouring practice

I bought a class in colouring skin and hair from Kit and Clowder (http://kitandclowder.ning.com/groups) and, after my initial enthusiasm, let it sit unused.
While I've had some down time the last few days I decided to revisit the lessons.  One of them was a tutorial using Spring Bling Wryn from Tiddly Inks.  Although Alyce goes a bit quick for me to follow along I don't think she turned out too badly.  What do you think?

Anyway I was pleased enough to use her for a card.

Although the colours are quite Christmassy, I still thought they would be ok to use for the remaining winter birthdays I have coming up.

The flourish is a new My Favourite Things die I received as a present from my daughter and her family.  I also got a city scape which I will be using very soon.

I also used a few MFT blueprints dies for the other small embellishments.  They really make a difference to how a card looks.

I'm pleased with how this card came together and I hope you like it too.

Batch makes

Happy Saturday everyone!

Jen and I are off on another Dabble Day today.  There is a competition running for the best name badge and another for Christmas outfit.  Our badges are done but I've no idea what I'm wearing!!

I've been trying to get batches of Christmas cards done lately.
I take one image and one sentiment then colour them up differently.  I've been pre-cutting all the mattes and then having a production line going.  Last weekend I made these.

This is Wryn from Tiddly Inks who came free with a craft magazine paired with a sentiment from Tim Holtz.

Bobble hat chicklet is from Digi Stamp Boutique, with a Simon Says Stamp (SSS) sentiment.

I made a 6 x 6 version of this one also as I originally printed the wrong size!

This last one is Christmas Winston, also from DSB, but I only made one of him (so far).  Again the sentiment is from SSS.

That's all for today.  TTFN Jude xx

Birthday Wizard

Yesterday Jen's youngest grandson, Bailey, had his official birthday party, following on from the Nanny birthday party last weekend.  He will 6 on Monday so his Mum organised a big celebration for him with lots of family and friends, along with the odd Ninja Turtle or four lol!  Bailey is mad about the turtles at the moment.

No turtles on my card today but this is one of the cards I made for him.  The image is Wizard (without glasses) by Tiddly Inks, available here from their website.  I coloured him with Copic Markers.

The Marianne Design set contains an embossing folder and die.  We bought ours from here.

I used the embossing folder on the mat behind the wizard and some papers from the stash.  I think it's nice and cheerful for a young boy's card.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.  TTFN Jude xx

Singing Wryn

Good morning crafty friends and welcome to another 'Hump day'. Why is it that most Wednesday's feel like they go on forever? unless your doing something fun of course! But unfortunately I'm not doing anything fun, I'm at work today and have a training course this morning :o(

Today's card is made using the lovely little Tiddly Inks stamps that came free with a magazine recently. I'm not sure what she's called but I call her Singing Wryn lol.

I coloured her with Copics and cut her out with a Spellbinders Opulent Ovals die.

I used the larger sized die to give her a mat and then used papers from the latest Simon Says Stamp kit and a Kaisercraft Christmas pad.

I used olive green Silky Crush ribbon across the centre and added a little angel charm.

I used a simple sentiment again and then added the musical notes using a Spellbinders Die D-lites die called Love Notes.

Hope you like her, have a good day. See you soon.

Happy Flappers

Hello again.

Tiddly Inks images have become a firm favourite with us and this one is an example of how versatile they can be.  I took the happy dancing couple I used for a wedding card a while back and made it into a Christmas card.

This is my first version of the first image....

....and this is the second!
I'm also thinking of colouring them in very traditional Christmas colours of red and green just to see if it works.

I layered three pieces of paper on black card and offset them on a 6 x 6 card blank.  In hind sight I should have made the pieces bigger, as the middle one disappears when the topper is in place!

Hope you like it.

Tiddly Inks Christmas

Recently I've been thinking about Christmas cards for work.
I don't want anything too elaborate, so when I saw these Tiddly Inks stamps that came with a recent magazine, I decided these were what I needed.

I coloured the images flat (that is with no shading) as I have quite a few to do.  These are my first practice pieces to see how much I want to do, which stamp to use and what layout I want.

I like this little carol singer and may use some darker colours for my next version.

This however is my favourite.  I always fall back on the traditional dark green and rich reds.

Hope you like them.

The Happy Couple

This is another card I made for Cat and Jamie's Wedding last Saturday.

This fun image is Flapper Couple from Tiddly Inks.

I used several vintage style papers to try and match the feel.

I also added some extra shaped layers between the papers.

The LOVE sentiment was cut out of a larger piece.

I echoed this on the liner page.

This is another angle.

I added another LOTV sentiment.

We used this card to hold some Euros for their holiday, which were their wedding gift from the family.

Hope you like it.
