21st birthday gift.....

Good morning and happy Tuesday. Hope all of your weeks' have got off to a good start. As you know I started a new job yesterday. It was a long first day but I do think it will be interesting. But then again, ask me again at the end of the week. Lol.

Just a quick post today to share with you the canvas that I made for my niece for her birthday. It's just a larger version of the one I did at the dabble day a couple of weeks ago, but a bit more personalised.

I managed to combine, inky and painty with melt art and jewellery. How good is that???? lol.

Anyway I was pleased with how it turned out and I know Cat likes it so hope you do too.

Thanks for stopping by today, see you soon.

Congratulations Jen

Jude again on this momentous Monday morning. After 15 months as a lady of leisure (!) Jen returns today to join the working masses.

My project to share today is the card I made to say congratulations and wish her luck on her first day.

I took a post card topper and over stamped with an IndigoBlu sentiment stamp in brushed corduroy distress ink.

I made a couple of roses using my xcut blossoms dies in two different sizes and punched some bitty blossoms with tonic punches.

A few blingy bits for the flower centres, some butterflies and we're finished. I made a box for it to fit in as the flowers are so dimensional and tied it with ribbon.

Jen loved it and I hope you do too. TTFN Jude xx

200th Post.....

Good morning all and happy Sunday. Yes today sees our 200th post on this little old crafty blog! Wow, who would have thunk we had so much to say????.....ROFL

Anyway, I hope you are all having good weekends. We are off out for a family meal again today, as my niece is 21 tomorrow! where has that gone? Lol. So today's card is perfect, as the digi image reminds me so much of my niece when she was younger. I can just hear her saying, I will wear a dress but I don't have to like it, ha ha.

The image is another of my Saturated Canary digi's, this one is called Honey.

I wanted to give pink/red hair a try as I haven't done it before, and I don't think it came out too badly. But I'll keep practising. I started by colouring the image with Promarkers and Flexmarkers, then cut it out and matted it on to some blue card.

I have had the pale blue and white cut-out card for ages, no idea where it came from! and I've never found a card that it went on, until now :o)) But it makes a good base for this card, matted on to a blue card stock and then on to a 6x6 Kraft card blank.

I found a couple of co-ordinating papers from different card pads, and used these to mat and layer behind the image.

I had a little piece of the blue card left over so I cut a fork in to the end and used it to mount a bow and a couple of buttons.

The flowers are a rolled ribbon rose and a couple of Marianne die cut rolled flowers in a blue paper. These are on top of Tattered Florals cut in a jersey fabric and a bright pink Georgette.

I added the ready made sentiment tags and it was all finished.

Hope you like it.

Thanks for stopping by today, see you soon, and here's to the next 200!

Tulip

Happy Saturday everyone Jude back again.

Since I got home from hospital on Thursday evening I've been concentrating on planning my house move. Next month I'm moving out of the home I've lived in for the last 14 years.

Now that Joe's moving into his own home I've no need for a large house so I'm moving in with Jen and Alan. It will take a while to downsize from 5 bedrooms to one so there's a lot of work to do.

That means I've little time for crafting so the only cards I'm making are quick and simple.  Today's card features a Tulip topper matted on green and then pink card stock.

A strip of green organza, a die cut flower and some pink dazzles finish my card off.

What do you think? TTFN Jude xx

Besties - Hailey and Harley....

Good morning, Friday again so soon. My last week as a lady of leisure (ha ha) has flown past. Yep I rejoin the ranks of the working class again from Monday. Back to the office routine again. I am and am not looking forward to it! I know I need to get back to work again, but I don't want to give up the extra hours in the day that not working brings lol. Until this last year it's not something I've ever had and it can be quite nice :o).

Anyway enough waffling from me. I'll update next week on how it's going lol. Today's card is made with a new digi stamp that I purchased from Etsy. Aren't they cute? I bought a couple more of the big head, big eyed dolls, digi stamps from Sherri Baldy. Can't wait to get those coloured too ;o))

I started with the image and coloured this in with Promarkers and Flexmarkers. Then I cut around the shape to make it stand out.

I used a 6x6 plain white card blank for the base. I layered the topper on to some orange textured paper, and then on to some brown Core-dination card.

I added a sticky lace border at the bottom and topped this with some bright orange ribbon and a little box bow.

Then I just added a small piece of scalloped trim to the top and a ready made sentiment, edged with Spiced Marmalade DI and added a bit of ribbon to finish.

What do you think? Hope you like it, thanks for stopping by today.

See you soon.

The Best Things

Morning Jude back again.  Did you all join in the Anything Goes birthday blog hop on Tuesday?  There's still time to enter and win the vouchers worth £10 or £20 to spend at the Craft Den.

As my son has been in hospital for the past week I haven't done much crafting.  However on Saturday Jen and I did go on a dabble day and had a great time.  Jen showed you the art piece we made with Hels, so I thought I'd share the frame we did with Jan.

We started with an empty frame and created a backdrop using several different stamps. Although we were all following the same blueprint our choice of papers to dress the mannequins has made the finished results different for everyone.

I chose shades of pink, peach and teal which complement each other quite well. I die cut several dresses and then cut these up to make the top and skirt and the jacket. A couple of pegs to hang the top and some small embellishments completed the outfits.

I really like how it turned out. What about you?

April showers...

Good morning all, Jen back again today. Did you play along with the birthday blog hop yesterday? Good wasn't it? If not, don't worry it's not too late, pop over to the Anything Goes Challenge Blog and join in. When you've finished here obviously lol.

Anyway on to today, this is a card I have made using free papers from a craft mag. I think the colours are really nice, and perfect for Spring.

I started with the topper and cut this out using the largest of the Lacey Circle dies. Then I cut out again just the image part in the inner circle by hand, and stuck it over the top. Then I mounted this on to a paper doily.

I used a 6x6 plain white scalloped edge card blank and covered it with one of the co-ordinating papers, matted on to green core-dinations card. Next a cut strips from two of the other papers and matted these on a slightly lighter green card.

I arranged the card with the doily and topper and added in some green spotty ribbon across the centre and to make two little bows for the top corners. I really like this ribbon and that was my last piece ;-(. Oh well I'll just have to keep a look out for some more lol.

Next I cut out a sentiment that came with the papers and matted this on to the same green card.
Then I added this to the bottom of the card.

All it needed to finish the card was a few flat backed pearls in the bottom corners,

and then some smaller green ones around the image. Then a final dab over with some glossy accents to look like rain drops. A super quick card, all done and dusted.

Hope you like it. Thanks for stopping by today, see you soon.

Birthday Blog Hop

Morning folks Jude again with something a little different.  Instead of a challenge over on the Anything Goes Challenge blog we are having a blog hop.  Don't panic if you've never done one before 'cos neither have I!!

The reason for the hop is that Craft Den Studio has just celebrated its 5th birthday so Lynne (aka The Boss) has kindly donated two gift vouchers for the lucky blog hop winners. We have two prizes up for grabs -  1st prize is a £20 voucher and 2nd prize is a £10 voucher to spend in the online shop.

I'm assured it's very easy - Hoppers need to collect the product jigsaw pieces (all items available in Lynne's shop) and leave a comment on each blog. Once you've collected them all, return to Anything Goes and post a final comment to be in with a chance of winning the prizes.  Simples!

The Order of the hop is
Carol
                      Jude (You are Here)

So if you've followed the hop from the beginning you should have joined me from Janine. If not why not go back to the beginning at Anything Goes and join in the fun.

There are prizes to be won so what have you to lose? Here is the clue for my product.  Any guesses?

See I told you it was easy.......... lol

Your next stop is with Joanie (http://craftietimes.blogspot.co.uk/) - Good Luck Hoppers!

Monday again so soon.....

Good morning all, well that weekend positively flew past lol. I think it must be my age ;-) and it's Jen here blogging again! I know anyone would think Jude's spending most of her time at the hospital with Joe wouldn't they??? oh right, she is, well I suppose I can let her off today - ROFL.....

While we were at the Dabble Day on Saturday, a very lovely lady named Jane, who was one of the demonstrators, gave me a packet of beads to make something for Jude. She had just said how much she liked the colour, and Jane gave me a packet for her :o)). Anyway, seen as how she's had a rubbish kinda week, I thought I would be the very nice sister and make her something yesterday.  So here they are. What do you think?

I just added in some pearls and pearl spacer beads.

Then the findings for the earrings and necklace, and all finished.

I have to make the bracelet stretchy for Jude! as she is terrible for catching them on things and breaking them lol.

Anyway, that's all from me today, thanks for stopping by, and an ultra big thank you to Jane.

See you soon

Art...

Good morning, Jen back again today, to share with you the piece of art that I made at the dabble day, yesterday. We had such a good time, firstly making a bracelet, and then altering a picture frame, which I will share at another time. But then in the afternoon, we moved on to Hels group and made this piece of artwork :o)) and I love it, she is soooooo clever.

We started with the flower, and this is the first time I have been able to get one of my flowers to look anything like this lol! It's made using the Tattered Florals die, and then cut and shaped and stuck to look like a rose.

The piece is all made on a 7x5 canvas board, and covered with paper pieces. Then given a diluted wash of cream paint over the top.

We let that dry and then used glue n seal all over it. Once that was dry it was on to the black acrylic paint to outline the paper pieces. Some you can do heavier than others, and some can you smudge them a bit more with a baby wipe. But in the end it all looks fine. Then we went around the edge of the board with the black paint and a piece of cut n dry foam, to frame everything.

Next was on to the stencilling with Ferro. This one is the Eisen colour, and I used two different parts of the same stencil. Once that was dry, we gave them a light spritz with some black soot ink, diluted in water. I must admit, I was really nervous at this point. Not wanting to mess up what I had already done. But because we used the glue n seal, you can wipe it off if you don't like it!

A quick zap with the heat gun again and we could add the hessian and word. Then placed the flower, leaves and butterflies.

What do you think? hope you like it too.

Thanks for stopping by, see you soon.

Jules

Happy Saturday!  Jude again with another Saturated Canary image.  Say Good Morning to Jules :)

This is one of my favourite digis and she is lovely to colour.  I still haven't got her right, inspite of numerous attempts, but I'm quite taken with this pink and brown version.

Jules is layered on Kraft card and a couple of papers from a pad just called vintage.  I'm not sure whose make it is but someone may recognise it lol.

The flowers are my Tonic petal pairs punches with chocolate cream centres.

Jen and I are off on another Dabble Day today, organised by our local craft shop Busy Bees.  All we know is we will be doing a piece of jewellery (but not sure who with) AND a piece of altered art with the very talented Hels Sheridan.  We're so excited we could bust!  Provided we don't, one of us will be back to share our creations tomorrow.

Hope you have a crafty weekend, TTFN Jude xx
