Knee deep in beads

Good morning all and welcome to another Friday, it's been a long week so I am more than ready for the weekend.

At the moment as the title says I am knee deep in beads. My niece gets married next week and I'm making the pearl jewellery for her and the bridesmaids. Just as I was taking the pics for this post I moved a bag of tiny pearls out of the way, only it was open and they literally went everywhere!!

Oh well that will teach me not to tidy up the previous night lol. 

But anyway this is where I have got to so far.

The little bridesmaids are all having pearls and silver beads with butterflies. 

While the adults are just having pearls, with either butterflies or elephant charms. 

Not many to go now and I do enjoy it so that's good.

500 posts

Good morning all. Today we have reached the milestone of 500 posts. That's an awful lot of waffling for us lol. 

But today is also the day where we say goodnight to dad. I won't go in to detail but dad's favourite colour was yellow and he loved elephants so I have made a little gift for mum to wear today.

They are simply yellow/gold pearls, a large yellow stone and some silver spacers with a small elephant charm. Then earrings to match.

But they are very pretty and mum loves them so that's all that matters.

Purple beads

Good morning all, hope you are looking forward to a nice crafty weekend. I'm hoping to get some time in the craft room, but well just see how the weekend pans out. 

I finally got around to opening the beads that Jude got for Christmas yesterday. They are beautiful in all different shades of purple. I have so far managed to make her a couple of bracelets out of them. 

And still have 3 beads left over to make her a pair of earrings and a keyring.

Now I can start on these lovelies too :o))

Wedding jewellery

Good morning all and happy Thursday. Hope you are all having a good crafty week. It's my last day at work today, so a little sad. I knew it was only temporary when I took the job last year, but I've been there just over 9 months and I will miss it and all the people. But I'm looking for something else so hopefully it won't be too long. 

Anyway on to today's post. No card today but some jewellery that I have made as a couple of samples.

My niece is getting married later this year so I have made two pearl bracelets for her to look at. One is meant for the bride and the other for her adult bridesmaid. 

They are very simple styles but I know they really like them. Hope you do too.

Beads and bangles

Good morning, hope you are well today. As Jude said yesterday we are still busy merging the two craft rooms, but I have been able to grab a little bit of time and space to do some beading :o))

 

My son and his girlfriend are off to Thailand for a couple of weeks soon, so I have been making Staci some jewellery to take with her.

 

 

Every time she comes round she has a look at my bead collection falls in love with more beads, and puts in another order lol. But I love making them, and it's fun to make for other people.

 

 

She has gone for some classic styles and then some more fun beads, well when your only 22 you can can't you? lol.

 

 

There are some really lovely colours around for beading, so you have to give them all a try lol.

New Jewellery

Good morning folks. Hope you are well and having a good week. Alan and I are both on annual leave this week so we are trying to make the most of it and get our house sorted ready for Jude moving in! Over the last few years since our kids left home, we seem to have spread out to use every available inch of storage space! including the fitted wardrobes that Jude will be using - eek. So I spent the best part of yesterday going through clothes and deciding what needs to stay, what needs to be binned and what needs to be recycled! It's difficult to get rid of things that have hardly been worn lol, but I am a bit of a hoarder when it comes to clothes, shoes and handbags! Jude would probably put it a lot stronger than that lol.

 

Anyway, to get over the pain of losing clothes I have had to make some more new jewellery :o)) well it doesn't take up as much room does it?

 

 

I really like these red beads they are so pretty.

 

 

The earring blanks are my favourites yet, I like the teardrop design.

 

 

Nice summery colours, green and yellow.

 

 

and finally some new porcelain beads with pretty flowers, some look quite oriental.

You know when you start something then you wish you hadn't bothered.....

well that's how I feel about today's project! But more about that in a min, good morning all, hope you are having a good weekend. I am going to get as much crafting time as I possibly can this weekend. I am having serious withdrawal symptoms since going back to work and old Mr mojo seems to be taking a break too :-( so I'm going to spend some time in the craft room and just hope I can tempt him back lol. 

Anyway, this is the culprit of the title. A bracelet I started making for the May challenge over at Beading Friends Forever.

I have undone it and started again more times than I care to remember. I didn't remember to take photos to show you though. But believe me, at one time it very nearly got thrown across the room lol.

 

I do like the design though it's an embellished ladder stitch. As you can tell my very first attempt at one! And probably my last :-) I got suckered in by all the beautiful examples by the design team and thought I'd got to have a go!!!! When will I learn that these great big sausage fingers of mine are not meant for tiny detailed work lol??? Me and seed beads do not get along lol.

But, it is now finished and although not perfect by any ones standards, I do like it. And I got it submitted to the challenge just before the deadline!

New jewellery......

Good morning all. Hope you are having a good start to your week. I have been beading again so thought I'd share some with you today.

 

 

I bought these freshwater pearls a while back and I just love the green ones. I think they have made a lovely set. So I think these will be staying with me lol.

 

 

The others may end up as gifts but not sure who to yet!

 

I'm ranging between simple and fussy at the minute, not sure what sort of style I like best. But I know I really enjoy playing so that's all that matters ha ha.

Monday again so soon.....

Good morning all, well that weekend positively flew past lol. I think it must be my age ;-) and it's Jen here blogging again! I know anyone would think Jude's spending most of her time at the hospital with Joe wouldn't they??? oh right, she is, well I suppose I can let her off today - ROFL.....

 

While we were at the Dabble Day on Saturday, a very lovely lady named Jane, who was one of the demonstrators, gave me a packet of beads to make something for Jude. She had just said how much she liked the colour, and Jane gave me a packet for her :o)). Anyway, seen as how she's had a rubbish kinda week, I thought I would be the very nice sister and make her something yesterday.  So here they are. What do you think?

 

 

I just added in some pearls and pearl spacer beads.

 

Then the findings for the earrings and necklace, and all finished.

 

I have to make the bracelet stretchy for Jude! as she is terrible for catching them on things and breaking them lol.

Good luck gifts...

Good morning, hope you have all had good weekends. I've been trying to be crafty, but this horrid niggly cold and sore throat that I have been trying to ignore for the last couple of weeks, finally hit me like a brick on Saturday :-(( so unfortunately the list of jobs I wanted to complete didn't get half finished. But, I did manage to make my daughter a little something as she starts a new job today :o))

 

 

K has wanted to work with young people with special needs since she was little, growing up with a cousin with multiple and complex needs, had quite an affect on her, probably with her being the eldest cousin, and more able to understand when Joe was poorly. But anyway, this year her dream is finally coming true, she has managed to get a job, as a teaching assistant, at the best specialist school in Sheffield. We know this because it's where Joe goes to school, lol. So today is her first day and we know she will be brilliant at it.

 

So these are just a couple of small gifts that I made for her to wish her luck.

 

 

A simple bracelet and earrings in her favourite pink tones, with a couple of matching hair grips.

 

Then a plain bag decorated with some felt flowers.

 

I do love those tattered florals, and I think the more layers you put together the better they look.
