Birthday Goodies

Morning all :)

As Jen said, yesterday I had a biggish birthday.  I'm not quite old but quickly getting there!

We had a lovely day doing crafty shopping, a fabulous lunch with cake, then a massive Chinese takeaway and cheesecake in the evening.  I think that's a pretty good way to spend a birthday :-))

This is the stashly goodies purchased with my birthday funds.  Starting with 2 fabulous paper pads.

Some kraft card blanks, pearls and cosmic shimmer (my fave glue)

The most recent Hunkydory magazine  and free card pack.

A new 8x8 Embossalicious folder called Elegance.

A set of yellow Spectrum Noirs and a Versamark pen.

I can't wait to start playing with them!!

I also got some non-crafty gifts too.  Jen made me a gorgeous bracelet with matching earrings (I'm wearing them so can't easily get a photo)

She also gave me some no7 goodies (another fave)

AND I got my favourite perfume as well.

I was thoroughly spoilt - but I deserve it lol.

21st birthday gift.....

Good morning and happy Tuesday. Hope all of your weeks' have got off to a good start. As you know I started a new job yesterday. It was a long first day but I do think it will be interesting. But then again, ask me again at the end of the week. Lol.

Just a quick post today to share with you the canvas that I made for my niece for her birthday. It's just a larger version of the one I did at the dabble day a couple of weeks ago, but a bit more personalised.

I managed to combine, inky and painty with melt art and jewellery. How good is that???? lol.

Anyway I was pleased with how it turned out and I know Cat likes it so hope you do too.

Thanks for stopping by today, see you soon.

Art...

Good morning, Jen back again today, to share with you the piece of art that I made at the dabble day, yesterday. We had such a good time, firstly making a bracelet, and then altering a picture frame, which I will share at another time. But then in the afternoon, we moved on to Hels group and made this piece of artwork :o)) and I love it, she is soooooo clever.

We started with the flower, and this is the first time I have been able to get one of my flowers to look anything like this lol! It's made using the Tattered Florals die, and then cut and shaped and stuck to look like a rose.

The piece is all made on a 7x5 canvas board, and covered with paper pieces. Then given a diluted wash of cream paint over the top.

We let that dry and then used glue n seal all over it. Once that was dry it was on to the black acrylic paint to outline the paper pieces. Some you can do heavier than others, and some can you smudge them a bit more with a baby wipe. But in the end it all looks fine. Then we went around the edge of the board with the black paint and a piece of cut n dry foam, to frame everything.

Next was on to the stencilling with Ferro. This one is the Eisen colour, and I used two different parts of the same stencil. Once that was dry, we gave them a light spritz with some black soot ink, diluted in water. I must admit, I was really nervous at this point. Not wanting to mess up what I had already done. But because we used the glue n seal, you can wipe it off if you don't like it!

A quick zap with the heat gun again and we could add the hessian and word. Then placed the flower, leaves and butterflies.

What do you think? hope you like it too.

Thanks for stopping by, see you soon.
