Tying the knot

Good morning all, Alan and I are back from our mini break in Stratford Upon Avon. It's somewhere neither of us have ever been so we really enjoyed looking around the sites. Hope you're all having a good week too.

For today's card I was asked to make a wedding card for a young lady at work. As I don't know her very well I couldn't really do something to suit her, so I took inspiration from this card on Pinterest by Suzanne Dahlberg, and adapted it to suit my purpose.

I used a shimmer grey card for the background and then cut a white panel for the middle and embossed it with a Sue Wilson embossing folder called, Entwined hearts.

Then I cut 2 tags from a slightly lighter grey card and embossed them with a rose embossing folder. Then I tied them together with a piece of translucent twine and raised them on foam pads across the white panel.

The sentiments both come from the Simon Says Stamp, Congratulations set and are heat embossed with True White fine detail embossing powder by Cosmic Shimmer.

I then used the Simon Says Stamp Paper Hug stamp set to stamp the floating hearts using Versamark ink and then heat emboss them with the same white embossing powder.

I trimmed the corners of the panels using a 1 inch corner punch from EK Success and then finished the card off with a few tiny clear gems and a silver dazzler.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Candles

Hello again friends. Judy here with my second offering of the week and I'm much happier with this one!

I went for a very simple card again using a Simon Says Stamp card kit.  I black heat embossed the two sentiments using a WOW! powder in primary ebony.  This is a nice rich black.

I used our MISTI for the stamping as it makes it so easy to line everything up.

The flames were stamped with Memento inks in Tangelo and Lady Bug.

I was pleased with how this turned out.  What do you think?

Male birthday

Good morning all.  Hope our UK friends have some fun planned for the last bank holiday until Christmas!

Jen is away with her husband so you've got me for a couple of days - you lucky things :)

My card was an attempt at  making a masculine card for our stash.  We don't make many and this one shows why!  It's not my favourite :(

I used the stamps from a Simon Says Stamp kit from last year.  Firstly to emboss a piece of black card with black embossing powder and then the sentiment in white.

The paper is from the pack included with the kit, but to add interest I decided to show both designs and fix the fold back with a brad.

I also inked the edges of the papers with Hickory Smoke Distress Ink.  This will be added to the stash but still not my favourite make.  What do you think?

Birthday smiles

It's Friday and a Bank Holiday weekend.  Hope you have lots of crafting time planned.

We are holding a birthday party tea for Jen's husband Alan, whose birthday was yesterday.

I made him this card from my daughter and her family, using the sketch guide from MFT's Blueprints #15.  The shapes are all cut using this set except the smile circle which is a Simon Says Stamp die.  This was part of a card kit from summer 2015.

I used a piece of Simon's cardstock for the card blank and the off cuts for the embellishments.

The paper came from the same SSS card kit pack and I found that Altenew's Dusk die ink matched perfectly.

I heat embossed the Uncle stamp from a set by Clearly Besotted, using an off white embossing powder.

Hope you like how this came together.  TTFN Jude xx

Up in the air

Good morning, I hope you are having a good week. Today is my hubby Alan's birthday, so we are both off work and are going out somewhere for the day. Lets hope the rain stays away, at least for a while anyway, lol. Happy birthday love, hope you have a lovely day. xxxx

So today's card had to be the one I made for Alan from me. I took inspiration from this card on Pinterest. The balloons are from the Creative Stamping Magazine - Up in the air stamp set, and I heat embossed them with pure white embossing powder.

I coloured them in with Copic markers and then cut them out by hand.

For the background I blended, Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean and Blueprint Sketch distress inks on to smooth white card and then matted it with another piece of white card. Then I found a piece of coordinating paper from the stash and mounted it all onto a 7 x 5 card blank.

I added the circle using, MFT Zig Zag Stitched Circles, and then made a sentiment with a Clearly Besotted Husband stamp, and a Sentiment from the Mama Elephant Organic Blooms set. I stamped them with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and then cut it out with an MFT Stamps Stitched Banner Die.

Then I finished it off with a few clear gems.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Fairy Garden

Hello again.  Today I have a card I made for Keira's birthday last week.
This uses the Fairy Friends stamp and die set from Lawn Fawn.

I heat embossed the images using a luscious rose gold embossing powder from Simon Says Stamp.  They were then coloured with Copic markers.

The hillsides are cut with the border trio from Mama Elephant and stacked to create the scene.

I used the cloud shaped die from this set to make a mask, then inked lightly over the edge to create the sky.  The ink is Altenew dye ink in Sea Glass.

I used the same embossing technique for the sentiment, then added Wink of Stella clear to the fairy's wings and the flowers.

Hope you like today's card and I'll be back with another on Friday.  TTFN Jude xx

Smile it's your birthday

Good morning . I hope you are all well and are having a good week so far. As I mentioned last week it was Jude's oldest granddaughter's birthday on Friday, so today's card is one of the ones I made for her.

I used the cute Altenew Bunny Love stamp set, to stamp the two chicks. I used Versamark ink so that I could heat emboss them with white embossing powder.

I coloured the chicks with Copic markers and then cut them out by hand, as these stamps don't have a matching die set. Gosh they were fiddly around the feet lol.

Then I inked a very soft background using Tumbled Glass and Peeled Paint Distress Inks. I placed the chicks on the background and then stamped a few flowers around them.

The sentiment is from a Simon Says Stamp set called Happy and Smile and I used the MISTI to stamp it directly onto my background. I always get nervous at this point as I don't want to ruin my card with a badly stamped sentiment ! So I'm now grateful for the MISTI, which means if it doesn't stamp perfectly the first time, I know I can go back over it :)

I put the panel on a green A6 card blank and then added a number 5 in the top corner from the MFT Starlight Numbers die set.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Birthday wishes

Another week and another birthday!  I can't yet share the cards for this event with you so instead I have made a generic card suitable for a man or woman.  We don't make many masculine cards but we need to start doing!

The sentiment and clouds are from Simon Says Stamp and the balloon from a Paper Smooches die.

The background was made using my Gansai Tambi watercolours.  I intended to use just blues but, as I never know when to stop, I ended up with extra colours in there :)

I added Wink of Stella clear to the clouds and balloon then added glossy accents just to the balloon.

I matted my panel with black and added it to a 6 x 4 card blank.  Hope you like it.

Hip hip hooray

Good morning all, I hope you have had a good week. Do you have any plans for the weekend? We are going to my niece's tomorrow as it's her eldest daughter's 5th birthday today. So we are going to have a little tea party with family.

As I can't show you any of Keira's birthday cards yet, today's card is one I made for her baby sister back in June when she turned 1.

I used one of my very favourite Avery Elle stamp sets, called Ellie. I love this little elephant, I have used her so many times on different cards.

I cut her out with her balloon and coloured them with Copic markers. Then I added Glossy Accents to the balloon for some shine.

I inked a cloudy background with Distress Inks and then cut a window frame with Crealies Double Stitched Rectangle Dies.

The banners are from another Avery Elle Set called, More Stories and the sentiments are a mixture of Avery Elle and Simon Says Stamp.

I popped it all on to a 6 x 4 card blank and then added lots of little heart and star sequins.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Bugs and birthdays

Hello again.  Today I have another card made for Keira's birthday tomorrow.

This scene was made using the adorable little bugs from Clearly Besotted's Cute as a Bug stamp and die sets.

I stamped each of the critters using memento ink and coloured with Copic markers.  I added a little clear Wink of Stella to the wings of the bee and dragonfly, unfortunately it doesn't show in the pictures.

The white embossed sentiment is from the same set but the Happy Birthday came from another Clearly Besotted set called Laugh Out Loud.

I cut a cloud stencil and inked with Altenew dye ink in sea glass then cut the hillside using one of the Mama Elephant border trio dies.

Hope you like it.  TTFN Jude xx
