It's only a birthday

I made this card a few days ago after seeing something similar.

At the time I thought it just a whimsical little card for a missed birthday or some other such occasion.

Unfortunately it is now how I'm feeling after finding out my job is to go, along with 246 of my colleagues.

Needless to say it hasn't been the best of days!!

The fox is a Lawn Fawn, as are the letter dies.

Not a lot else to say really.  Sorry if this post is a bit of a downer but that's how I'm feeing today.

Hopefully tomorrow will be better!

Puppy love

Good morning, hope you are all well and having a great week. Yesterday was my eldest grandson's 10th birthday, and this is the card I made for him from me and his grandad.

I used the lawn fawn set called Critters at the Dog Park, I stamped them with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then coloured them with Copic markers.

I used the matching dies to cut them out and then used a large flag banner from an MFT Stamps Blueprints set for the background.

I used Memento Toffee Crunch ink to stamp the paw prints and Memento Cottage Ivy ink for the grass.

I set it all on a gold background and then on a cream 6 x 4 card blank.

Then I stamped a sentiment from a Simon Says Stamp set called Birthday Bits, with Versamark ink and then heat embossed with Wow Bright Copper embossing powder. Then I added the die cut Grandson from Britannia dies to finish it off.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

I see you

Hello again!

I've not made many cards in the last week but I have made several versions of this one.

The stamp used as a background is from the I See You set by Simon Says Stamp.  This was part of the Monthly Card Kit back in October.

I used a small die from Taylored Expressions called Little Bits - Eyeglasses on the central banner.

For the sentiment banner, I heat embossed 'to a cool' and cut nephew with a die from Britannia Dies.

The others do not have a sentiment on yet.  I'll add this once I know who they are going to!

Hope you like it.  TTFN Jude xx

Happy birthday to ewe

Good morning all, hope you are having a good start to your week. Did you have a good weekend? We had a busy one, firstly visiting my grandson's over in Runcorn, and then we went to see my aunt and uncle on Saturday night to raise a glass with them on what would have been my cousin Garry's 46th birthday. Unfortunately we lost Garry to cancer nearly two years ago, but we still celebrate his birthday just as he would have wanted.

Anyway, enough of that. Today's card is one I made for my lovely friend for her birthday on Sunday. I used the new Feeling Sheepish set from Clearly Besotted.

I Stamped the images with Memento ink and then coloured them with Copic markers. Then I die cut a panel using an element from an MFT Blueprints set to give me a stitched rectangle.

For the background I used a Tando Creative mask called Sequins, and a few different colours of Distress Ink. Fossilised Amber, Carved Pumpkin and Abandoned Coral.

I stamped a sentiment that comes with the set using Jet Black Archival ink.

Then I put it all together on a 7 x 5 card blank and finished it off with a few sequins.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Feeling Sheepish

Good morning everyone.

I'm trying to remember to make more than one version of a card at a time.  It takes very little extra so why don't I do it?

These two are made using a new stamp from Clearly Besotted called Feeling Sheepish.

I set up the MISTI with the layout and used Versamark and white embossing powder for the sentiments.

I think they worked out really well and it would be quite easy to mass produce these.

I'm going to make some more for a craft event we have at work in a few weeks time.

Sending Love

Good morning and happy Friday, hope you have all had a good week. I am really looking forward to the weekend as we are going to visit our grandsons in Runcorn. The eldest is 10 next week, so we are off to deliver cards and pressies :o))

Anyway, today's card is a simple anniversary card.

I used a piece of watercoloured paper as the main panel and then added a couple of small envelope embellishments.

The main sentiment is from an Avery Elle set called Sending You and is stamped with Jet Black Archival ink.

I used a Sue Wilson Entwined Hearts embossing folder for the white panel and then backed this with a piece of blue Coredinations card.

Then I used a couple of  Molly Moo stamps for the Happy Anniversary.

Hope you like it, take care and have a great weekend.

Graphic Flowers

Today's card was made using the colour layering stamps from Hero Arts.
This set is called Graphic Flowers.

I used different shades of memento tear drop inks in pinks and purples.  The leaves are cottage ivy.
I layered the panel on two shades of purple cardstock and used foam tape to give dimension.

I love the sweet and simple feel of these and will probably use them a lot more.

Hope you like them too.  TTFN Jude xx

Gold Deer

Good morning all and happy hump day. This is one of the cards that I made for family at Christmas.

I used an image that I already had and altered it to make it black. Then I printed it on the laser printer.

I used rose gold Deco Foil through the Minc machine to give this gorgeous shiny silhouette.

I typed up a sentiment and foiled this too, then I cut a snowflake from rose gold card.

I added a panel of the card behind the image and then used a paper from the Dovecraft Back to Basics Christmas, 8 x 8 pad.

Then I finished it off with a Noor Design snowflake edge die cut in the same rose gold card.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Male birthday

I've got another male birthday card to share with you today.
This one is going to Cody next weekend for his 10th birthday.

I used scraps from my box and the MFT Blueprints 15 die set.  It's a great way to use up some of those 'not quite big enough' pieces but still have an effective design.

I love this combination of colours and think it's really suitable for a young man.  Different colours would make it suitable for anyone.

Hope you like it.  TTFN Jude xx

Fairy dust

Good morning folks, hope you have all had a good weekend. We have had a snowy one here in Sheffield but it's all going now, just very cold still.

Today's card is one I made to send to a crafty friend last month.

I used the Lavinia stamp set again to stamp the images and then heat embossed them with gold and silver embossing powder.

I stamped the sentiment that comes with the set with Jet Black Archival ink, and then used two different colours of Memento ink for the mushrooms, Tuxedo Black and Rich Cocoa.

Then I just layered the panel with gold card and put it all on to a 7 x 5 card blank.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Clean and Simple - ish!

Friday doesn't need any fanciness so I have a simple little card to share with you.

These two friends are from the More Stories stamp and die set by Avery Elle.  I intended to keep the card very plain with lots of white space, as I love cards like that.  However I really struggle with it and ended up adding a few pearls.

I'll keep trying for CAS (clean and simple) but this will do for now.  What do you think?

Fly by

Good morning all, hope your week is going well. Today's card is one I made to send to my uncle for his birthday. I always struggle with male cards so this set from Avery Elle is great.

I inked a background with Distress Inks, to resemble a runway and then added a few lines with a white roller ball pen.

The clouds are stamped with Memento Ink and then coloured with a white marker pen.

I coloured the plane and banners with Copic Markers and then cut them out with their coordinating dies.

Then I stamped one of the greetings that comes with the set on to the banner.

A really simple card, but still effective.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.
