Wedding flowers

Hello friends.  It's the last day of February and  I'm back with another wedding card.

This uses one of my favourite stamps Peony Bouquet from Altenew.  I used a new set of inks too.  These are Altenew's Rock Collection.

I stamped the three layers in the lightest three inks in the set then used two of the darkest for the leaves.

I also added a layer of Spectrum Noir Shimmer pen to the blossoms.

The sentiments are from a Simon Says Stamp card kit and the set is called Congratulations.  It contains some lovely wedding and engagement sentiments.

I stamped these with Versamark and heat embossed with Silver Shine from Cosmic Shimmer.

I like the simplicity of this card and hope you do too.

Shaker Polaroid

Good morning crafty friends, I hope you have all had a nice weekend. We have had a busy and very dusty one, thanks to an orbital sander and a dining table that needed refinishing lol. But it does look good now 😊.

Right, today's card was an attempt at a bead shaker, and while I like the style, I am really not happy with my little pug !!! A bit too heavy handed on the colouring poor thing 😳 which I didn't notice until he was securely behind the acetate, but never mind.

I used MFT Blueprints Dienamics for the frame and MFT Grassy Edges for the layered grass.

The pug is from the Lawn Fawn set called Critters at the dog Park and the bee and sun are from the Lawn Fawn set called Hello Sunshine.

I stamped them all with Memento ink in Tuxedo Black and Cocoa, then after colouring the little dog I cut them out with their matching dies.

For the background I used white card and very lightly blended Tumbled Glass Distress Ink over it, to make a sky background.

I added everything together and then mounted the acetate and frame on foam strips, just leaving a small gap to pour the seed beads through. Then I sealed the gap with a final piece of foam strip.

I added the frame to a white linen card blank and then used a sentiment from the Lawn Fawn set, Scripty Sayings.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Wedding Doodles

Yay for Friday.  I'm looking forward to some time in the craft room this weekend.

Last week Mum asked for some wedding cards for a friend of hers.  Jen and I both made cards and you will get to see them shortly.

While I was looking for inspiration I saw some wonderful hand drawn cards and totally had to copy one of them.

I loved how simple the design was.  I'm not good at drawing but this took very little artistic prowess to achieve an acceptable version of the original.

The original card along with others by this artist can be found at http://www.notonthehighstreet.com/hannahshelbournedesigns

Hope you like my version.

Tea Cup Roses

Good morning all, I hope you are having a good week. Today's card is one I made a few weeks ago when I was just having a play. I really do love making cards when they aren't for anything in particular.

I used the Clearly Besotted English Rose stamp and Die set, and stamped them with the Altenew, Red Cosmos inks. Then I added a layer of Spectrum Noir clear sparkle pen over the top.

The Leaves are from the same set and stamped with Altenew Green Fields inks.

The little cup was die cut using a Simon Says Stamp die, I used black satin card and then added a small piece of blue vellum behind the cut out centre.

The background was made using the MFT Confetti Background stamp, with Versamark ink, and then heat embossing with Cosmic Shimmer, Silver Shine, fine detail embossing powder. Then I finished the card with a Clearly Besotted sentiment die cut using a pale gold card.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you next week.

Ranunculus #3

Wednesday already!  Doesn't it come around quick?

My card today is the third of those I made using the Wplus9 Beautiful Bouquets Ranunculus stamp.

This uses the same technique Jen used for the cards posted yesterday.  I loved how her's turned out and decided to try it myself.

Having white heat embossed the stamp onto some watercolour cardstock, I applied Mustard Seed Distress Ink and blended well.

The sentiment is from an Altenew set, Halftone Hello.  I added the sentiment with some tiny foam squares and used some gold Liquid Pearl embellishments.

Hope you like it.

Finding that missing Mojo...

Good morning all, I hope you are having a good week. I have really struggled with the old mojo lately and didn't make anything for over 3 weeks 😲, which is unheard of for me. So I eventually gave myself a kick up the rear end lol and put on some of Jennifer McGuire's videos. I knew if anyone could help me it would be her 👍.

I watched one of Jennifer's recent video's on ombre backgrounds, Here then I had a go myself and came up with the 5 cards you see here.

Some I like more than others, and I wouldn't say they were all that easy lol, but I really enjoyed making them. I used a variety of different stamps, including: Hero Arts Diamond and Triangle Background stamps, Altenew Beautiful Day stamp and the Stampendous Hydrangea stamp. The 5th card was done with a text stencil.

This card used MFT and WPlus9 sentiments, with Mermaid Lagoon Distress Ink.

This one used MFT and Simon Says Stamp (SSS) sentiments, with Twisted Citron Distress ink.

This one used SSS sentiments, with Fossilized Amber Distress ink.

This is an SSS sentiment with a Lawn Fawn die cut and Picked Raspberry Distress ink.

And finally, we have Clearly Besotted sentiments and Ripe Persimmon Distress ink.

Hope you like them, take care and I'll see you soon.

Sunshine and daisies

Happy Monday peeps.  Hope you had a lovely weekend.

My card today was made using the Altenew set called Spring Daisy.  I always think of sunshine with daisies so the card had to be nice and sunny.

I have used the Altenew Warm Sunshine and Caramel Truffle die inks for this card.
I used just the highlight and centre layers of the set which creates a lovely background.

I then stamped one flower and die cut it for the feature element.

I stamped a piece of vellum and heat set my sentiment with brass embossing powder then added it to a fish tail banner.

I added my panel to a yellow 4.25 x 5.5 note card and called it done.  I did consider adding some Wink of Stella but decided it wasn't needed.

Hope you like it.  TTFN Jude xx

Felt fun

Good morning folks, hope you have had a good week and are looking forward to a nice crafty weekend. I cannot believe how long ago I made this card, it's been sitting at the bottom of the draft list since last June 😲, It's only that Jude keeps moaning at me to get rid of the ones I'm not going to post that I remembered it was there lol.

I made this card for my great niece, when she turned 1. It was totally over the top, using lots of felt, but she loved it, and spent ages touching all the felt pieces. lol.

The little girl image is from a magazine freebie called My Best Friend Designer Stamps. I stamped her with Tuxedo Black Memento ink, coloured her with Copic markers, and then cut her out by hand.

I lightly inked a sky background with distress inks, and then cut a sloping hillside from plain green card.

All the little felt flowers, the dog, bee and the ladybird, came in small craft gift sets from John Lewis, which my daughter-in-law had got for me a couple of Christmas ago.

I used white card to cut a picket fence using a Diesire die from Crafters Companion, and then stacked up all the flowers and felt pieces with the coloured image on top.

I stamped the dog bowl and ball using a Lawn Fawn set called Critters at the Dog Park, then added a few stamped butterflies and a Lawn Fawn Scripty Sentiment to finish it off.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you next week.

Ranunculus #2

Hello again.

I told you on Tuesday that I had used the same stamp for three different cards.  Today I have card number 2 to share.

I again used the Wplus9 Ranunculus stamp, white heat embossed on water colour card.  This time though I used a single image.

Like last time I used Zig Clean Colour markers but instead of a water-brush I used the Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen.  This not only allows you to 'paint' but add shimmer at the same time.

I'm afraid it doesn't show too well here but I assure you it looks lovely close up.

For the sentiment I used a Studio Calico set but I'm afraid I don't know the name!

I used a blue top folding note card for this one.  I wanted some blue embellishments but as we didn't have any I created my own.  These are enamel dots coloured with a blue Sharpie!

Hope you like today's card.  See you next week.
