Bee happy

I'm a little late this morning but eventually got to blog!
Today's card was made for my eldest son Edward.  He was 27 yesterday 😱

I stamped the bee image from Hello Sunshine by Lawn Fawn, drew in flight trails, then coloured with Copic markers and Spectrum Noir shimmer pen..

I created the strip on the right by stamping a ribbon stamp from the Avery Elle Beautiful Bow set onto yellow card with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn's Gnome Sweet Gnome set white heat embossed on black card.

The clouds are  also from Hello Sunshine.

This was a quick card to make but I think it is really cute.  What do you think?

Have a Boo-tiful Day

Good morning crafty friends, I hope you are having a good week so far. We are gearing up for a big birthday next week, but I will tell you more on Monday 😉.

Today's card is one I made for a friends little boy who turned 7 last week. As Jude had been using this Lawn Fawn, Monster Mash stamp set for her cards and it was still out, I decided to use it too.

I stamped a couple of the little monsters onto plain white smooth card, and then coloured them with Copic Markers. Then I used two of the sentiments from the same set and stamped them top and bottom.

I decided on a red window card for a change, so made the larger monsters bow tie, red to match.

Then I gave him a large googly eye on a spring and dotted some other googly eyes around the panel to finish it off.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you next week.

Monster hugs

Hello again 👋

Today's cards were again inspired by the fabulous Jennifer McGuire.

Recently on her blog [here] she created multiple cards using small stamp sets.  One of the designs was a simple flag banner with a character and sentiment.  I decided to do something similar.

I used the Lawn Fawn Monster Mash set to stamp one of the images and a sentiment on several pieces of white card.

I cut these with a flagged die then coloured the images with Copic markers.

I cut a mask from sticky notes and placed it over the image, before inking over it lightly with Distress Oxide to create a haze around the monster.

Some of these didn't work as well as the first two cards, so I decided to ink the whole piece and add water splashes for some interest.

I added some pearl drops to the eyes and Nuvo drops to the backgrounds, before sticking my cute little monsters on to matching card and a 4.25 x 5.5 card base.

I love how I got so many different effects from one stamp and sentiment.

Yellow Freesia

Good morning folks, I hope you are having a good week so far. Today's card is using the beautiful Fresh Freesia stamp from Altenew.

For quick and easy cards, this stamp is so useful, as it can be made into a card for any occasion just by changing the sentiment. On today's I decided on a "just a note" card to send to a friend.

I stamped the flower onto plain white smooth card using Tuxedo Black Memento ink, then coloured it with Copic Markers, this time sticking to yellow flowers.

Then I cut the panel down to fit on an A2 note card, leaving room for a side strip of Washi Tape.

This Washi Tape is by My Minds Eye, and is part of the Chalk collection. I love this pretty leaf pattern and thought it went really nice with the bright yellow card and flower.

Then I just added a few black sequins to finish it off.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

"Happy Birthday 2 you"

Happy Monday crafty friends.

Today's card was made for Charlotte's 2nd birthday last week.

I cut a piece of patterned paper and found card to match.  From the card I cut the banner and number.

The stamp is from Avery Elle's Ellie stamp and die set, and the number is Carnival Numbers by Papermania.

I found a matching pink card blank and added the die cuts with foam dots.  I then used White Blizzard Glitter Drops from Nuvo, to add a bit of interest on the number and background paper.

I'm really drawn to quick and simple cards lately and will use this idea again.

Happy Birthday 2 Char

Good morning all, are you as glad as me that it's finally Friday? I am sooooooo looking forward to the weekend, and hopefully some crafty time.

Today's card is another that I made for our great niece's birthday on Tuesday. This was derived from an idea on Pinterest, and adapted to suit the supplies I have.

I used the WeR Memory Keepers, small Alphabet Punch Board to cut the number 2 from stripey card.  I put the number straight on to the card front and then added the rest of the design around it.

The bird is from the My Favourite Things, Things With Wings set. I stamped it on to patterned paper and then cut it out with the matching die. I also cut it out a 2nd time on to plain card, then glued them both together.

The Banner at the top is from the Lawn Fawn Bannerific Stamp and Die set. I stamped the Avery Elle sentiment with Black Tuxedo and the banner with Angel Pink Memento ink.

Then I added Char at the bottom using the Concord and 9th Sophisticated Script stamp set, and finished the card off by stamping small flowers from the Things With Wings set all over the background using a few more colours of Memento Ink - Dandelion, New Sprout and Rosebud.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you next week.

Mom floral

Hello crafty friends.

Today's card was made for Mum's birthday last week.

I took a 7 x 5 card blank and layered it with a blue matt then a white one.

The white layer has dahlias stamped in Arctic ink from Altenew.

The M's were created using the We R Memory Keepers mini alphabet punch board.

I used dahlia buds to stamp across them in Caribbean sky and sapphire blue.

I white embossed the sentiment on the same blue card as the base.

The main element is a full size dahlia in the same colours raised on foam tape.

Once stuck down I didn't like how the M's blended in to the background, so I traced around them with a blue gel pen.

I think it turned out pretty well and hope you like it.

You're 2 Cute

Good morning everyone, I hope you are having a good week.

Today's card is one I made for Jude's granddaughters 2nd birthday yesterday. I used a background paper for a change, this one was a magazine freebie a couple of years ago, but I love the colours and thought the bunting design was cute for a little girl.

For the main image, I cut a scalloped rectangle die from Tonic Studios, and then used a number from a Fancy Pants die cut set, and some cardboard adhesive letters for the sentiment.

I coloured the letters with Copic Markers to match the background paper and then cut a couple of WPlus9 Balloons from the Whole Lotta Happy set. I did one in a spotty card and the other in plain white card, which I then coloured yellow.

The little pink spotty star balloon is from the Clearly Besotted Laugh Out Loud set, and I gave them all a red twine string for a pop of colour.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Love you tons Charo!

Hello and welcome back.

Today's card was made for my youngest granddaughter, Charlotte Rose.  She is celebrating her second birthday today.

Happy Birthday Princess!

To make this I stamped the Clearly Besotted Love You Tons stamp onto pale grey card, then coloured the ears and toes with a pink Copic marker.

The elephants were cut with the matching die and added to a light pink note card using foam tape.

I stamped two sentiments underneath the elephants and then added a few drops of liquid pearls in white opal.

This was a very simple card to make but I love the finished look.

Hope you like it too.  TTFN Jude xx

Butterfly wishes

Good morning folks, I hope you have had a lovely weekend. If like us you have had very warm and dry weather, then you will either have loved it or hated it like me lol.  No I don't really hate it, but I do spend my life in a constant sweat, I even use the air-con in winter 😲💦😓 lol.

Anyway, today's card is one I made for mum's birthday last week, but we didn't use in the end. I used the Winnie and Walter Pallet background stamp, using Rocky Shore Crisp Dye Ink from Altenew, on to Dessert Sand card from Crafters Companion.

I stamped the background a couple of times, lining them up with the MISTI, then trimmed the panel to fit an A2 card blank.

I used a cream card blank so chose a pretty cream linen card to cut the diecuts from. I used the Noor Butterfly Edge for the bottom, and a Spellbinders Butterfly for the top.

I put the butterfly border on the bottom of the card and then cut a strip of cream card to go across the top for my butterfly and sentiment.

I stamped a simple Happy Birthday sentiment and then added Mum on the bottom strip.

Then I decorated the butterflies with pearls and Nuvo Glitter Drops.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.
