Prancer

It may be the season to prance but it is also the season of poor light for photographs!

I can never get the lighting right when I do cards in autumn, but I'll keep trying.

This cute little reindeer is from the Clearly Besotted set called Let's Prance.  Jen and I wanted this when we saw it released and thought we'd buy it later.  Then we got the devastating news that Clearly Besotted were closing down for a while!!  Needless to say that hurried up our purchases.

I stamped this cutie on to a 4 x 4 note card and coloured it with Copics.  The snowflakes are my current favourites from the Happy Howlidays set by Lawn Fawn.  They are stamped in Altenew's Caribbean Sky.

The sentiment is from the same set as the reindeer.

I might add some Wink of Stellar or Liquid Pearls to the nose, but haven't decided yet.

Distress Crayon Background Card

Good morning friends, thank goodness it's Friday. Are you looking forward to the weekend too?

Today's card was an experiment for me, and I don't think it turned out too badly to be honest.

We have had the Tim Holtz Distress Crayons since July, but haven't really used them before. So I thought I would try a simple watercolour background card.

I used three of the crayons from set 3, neutral/browns, on watercolour paper. I wet the paper first and then scribbled the crayons over the top and then brushed water over again with a water brush.

I repeated these steps a few times until I got the depth of colour I wanted and then dried it off with my heat gun. It's probably better to leave it to dry naturally but I'm not a patient crafter lol.

Once it was dry, I stamped a leaf image three times using Versamark ink, and then heat embossed it with Wow Metallic Brass embossing powder. Then I used a WPlus9 stamp set called That is All to stamp the sentiment using Black Memento ink.

I cut the panel with a Tonic Studios Scalloped die, and then matted it on to brown card and a white card base.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you next week.

Be Merry

Hello again.  I'm back with another small batch card make.  I've only done four of these.

I was looking through our paper stash and came across this paper which reminded me of Christmas tree lights.  I decided to cut this using a Lawn Fawn tree die to see how it worked and this is what I got!

To make the lights shine I added glossy accents and some Wink of Stella to the star.  The bucket was cut from some scrap red card.

You can see the effect of the lights better in this shot!  I added dark green card behind the paper for some strength and then used foam pads behind them for dimension.

The sentiment was from a Lawn Fawn scripty sayings set and was stamped in cottage ivy memento ink.

Hope you like these.  TTFN Jude xx

Deer to Me

Good morning all, I hope you are having a good week.

Today's card was my first time using this sweet Clearly Besotted stamp and die set, called Deer to Me. We have had this one a few weeks but hadn't gotten around to using it yet.

I stamped and die cut three of the deer's and then coloured them with Copic markers.

I cut the background panel with an Avery Elle Wonky Stitches die and then used an Indigo Blue tree stamp to stamp the background.

Once the trees were dry I used Tumbled Glass Distress Ink to blend over the top, to give a bit of colour showing through the trees. Then I went over some of the trees and branches with my Wink of Stella Clear Sparkle pen.

I added the little deer's using foam pads and then finished the card with a stamped Lawn Fawn sentiment and a few green gems.

Hope you like it, take care and Ill see you soon.

A Pack of Dogs

I haven't been overly productive this week although I've continued making small batches of Christmas cards.  So far I have made a dozen cards like this one.

This uses the exclusive set designed by Lawn Fawn for Simon Says Stamp's 'Stamptember' release. Last year we missed out on a couple of the limited edition sets we liked, so this year we made sure to order early!

The set is called Happy Howlidays and features 3 dachshund figures, along with a variety of small stamps - scarves, lights, hats, presents etc.

I used the small snowflakes in the set and stamped them in Caribbean sky ink from Altenew. After colouring the dogs with Copic markers they were added over the snowflakes with small foam pads.  I then added a string of lights and a reindeer cap to some, and a Father Christmas hat to others.

The sentiment is from the same set and I used red ink for some of the cards ad black for others.

I really like this set and hope you do too.

Wintry Tree Silhouette

Good morning crafty friends, I hope you are all well today. I have been a little under the weather this past week, but hopefully I am on the mend now. It's typical as soon as you have some time off work, you get ill !!!!

Anyway, you may have noticed an abundance of Christmas cards around, and I'm afraid we are no exception. It's that time of the year, where if we don't start now, we will still be making them on Christmas eve lol :o))

So today's card is a simple card that can be made quite quickly and could easily be changed to use for a different occasion. I started by cutting a piece of white card with an Avery Elle Wonky Stitched Frame.

Then I masked around the edges and blended Salty Ocean, Tumbled Glass and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Inks, to give me a wintry background.

Then I used a tree stamp from one of last years magazine freebies and stamped it to one side using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.

I stamped the sentiment and snowflakes with the same ink and then just finished the card off with some tiny crystals on the snowflakes.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Shadow stamped card

Hello again.  I know you are likely to get fed up of Christmas cards but as I have so many to make I have little else to share lol!

I took a white note card and masked off an area, then inked with two shades of blue distress ink to create a night sky.  I stamped the town and sleigh images from a magazine freebie set, then added a small amount of white for a hazy moon.

Although this was intended to be a one layer card I managed to smudge my ink again and had to find a way to rescue it.  I took a piece of dark card and stamped with Versamark and clear embossed the snowflakes.  I then cut this to fit either side of the image and added foam tape for some dimension.  I think it worked ok.

To finish I used a stamp from the set and white embossed it on black card before adding to the bottom panel.

It's not the card I initially set out to make but I like how it ended up.  What do you think?

Krumspring Presents - Naughty or Nice?

Good morning all, I hope you are having a good week. Today's card is the first one I have made using a Krumspring stamp. I follow the lovely lady who designs these stamps on Instagram, and when she had a new release last month I bought this presents stamp, called Naughty or Nice to give it a try.

Now I have to save my pennies so that I can buy some more soon as they are great, they stamp brilliantly and some of the other ones available look amazing. If you haven't heard of her then head here to Maria's website and shop and take a look for yourself.

For this card, I stamped the presents with Versamark ink and then heat embossed it with Ranger Liquid Platinum embossing powder. Then I coloured it with Copic Markers in some contemporary colours, as I did a second card with more traditional colours.

I cut the image out by hand and then found a piece of Christmas paper in the stash that complimented the colours. The little Elf holding the present is an MFT stamp from last year called Santa's Elves.

I coloured him with matching colours and then cut him out with his coordinating die.

After adding the sentiment I gave the presents and Elf a once over with Wink of Stella in Silver and Clear to give it all some sparkle.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you next week.

Batch makes

Today I am sharing a batch of cards I made using some of the small stamps in one of my Simon Says Stamp kits.

I haven't used this set very much but thought I'd use them for a few birthday cards to add to my stash.

Some of the image is random stamped but for the main flower placement I used the MISTI.  This really makes replicating designs so easy.

Once I had filled the bottom half of my card front I added a simple sentiment and then filled in around it.

As I had used lots of different colours of ink I could add them to different coloured card blanks. Although it took a while to set up once I got going it all came together quite easily.

Hope you like them.  TTFN Jude xx

Hello Baby

Good morning folks, I hope you are all well. The hubby, Jude and I have a few days off work this week, to sort out the loft etc. I am hoping that we can finally get the rest cleared and taken to the charity shops or the rubbish tip. It does feel good to be getting rid of some of the years of collected rubbish, but I am hoping to for a bit of rest and craft time too, but we'll see lol.

Anyway, today's card is one I made for a friend of my son and daughter-in-law's who had a little baby boy last week.

I used the Deer to Me stamps and dies from Clearly Besotted. I stamped and masked to make my little scene, and then coloured it with Copic Markers.

Then I cut the scene out with a Lawn Fawn Stitched Square die and matted it with a piece of dark blue card.

The patterned paper is from a Studio Calico 6x6 pad, and I used a 6 x 6 card base to layer it all on.

Then I used the Lawn Fawn Owen's ABC's to stamp and die cut the baby's name and date of birth.

I used Memento Dew Drop Nautical Blue ink to match the card and cut them out with their matching dies. Then I just added a little bit of clear Wink of Stella to the clouds to finish it off.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.
