Have a Dandy Birthday

Good morning all, I hope you are having a good start to your week.

Today's card was made with the Hero Arts My Monthly Hero kit for December 2018. These little mice stamps are just so cute lol.

I started by using a small Ranger triangles stencil that came with a recent edition of Simply Cards and Papercraft magazine, issue 186, for the background, using a few shades of Distress Oxide Inks.

Once that was dry, I stamped my little mouse over the top and coloured him with Copic markers. Then I stamped one of the sentiments from the set onto the card, and another on to a tiny piece of paper, so I could slip it inside a little envelope.

It says Sending a tiny hello. The envelope is from some Jude got for Christmas which I think were from The Range.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Party like a boss

Good morning all. I’m back with some of the most challenging cards I’ve made in ages.

Cards for a 13 year old boy are certainly not the easiest but I eventually came up with three ideas. This is the first.

embossed a sentiment from a Wplus9 set onto a black card base. I then added Audrey blue card stock to the top and a white strip for accent.

To fill in the top section I gold embossed Carnival Numbers by Papermania.

This was quite a quick card to make and I love these colours together. What do you think?

Plum fairy

Hello!
My card for today was again made using the December My Monthly Hero kit from Hero Arts.  This time I used one of the adorable fairies.

I stamped and die cut the fairy and coloured her with shades of purple Copic markers.
For some additional shimmer I used a gelly roll pen to highlight her wings, wand, the flowers in her hair and on her dress.

For the background I inked Dusty concord distress oxide through a lattice design stencil.  I applied ink slightly heavier in some parts for interest.

I stamped and embossed the sentiment on to some purple card stock and added the panel to a purple card base.

To finish off I added some silver gems.
Hope you like it.  TTFN Jude xx

Anniversary Wishes

Good morning crafty friends, I am trying to get back into the swing of blogging again after the Christmas run up and break. but to be honest it's slow-going at the moment lol.

I really don't have a lot of crafty Mo-Jo just now, so my craft room is feeling a little unloved lol. But I am trying to make myself sit down and have a go at a few cards that I need for upcoming birthdays and an anniversary.

I received this heart die as a Christmas gift, so I decided it would look really nice cut from white card and placed on to an alcohol inked background. The die is from The Works by M & C Boutiques, it  doesn't have a name, but it is very pretty.

The alcohol inked background was made with Ranger Alcohol Inks on Yupo Paper using shades of blue, with a silver mixative, and just sort of pounced around with a blending tool. Then I added a simple die-cut sentiment, with a heat embossed Anniversary, and some turquoise jewels to finish it off.

I hope you like it, thanks for stopping by today. Take care and I'll see you soon.

Glitter and lace

Hello again everyone!

I'm back today with a simple idea which turned into a lot of work!!

This beautiful lace die is from the Gemini by Crafters Companion, Opulent Swirls set.

I thought it would be easy to cut the die and place some glitter card behind to show through the die cutting.
However the shape isn't the easiest to cut.  I ended up drawing around the die and carefully cutting it out. I only just got it to fit 😮

The sentiment is from a set by Wow called Beautiful.  This came with the last members kit.

Although it doesn't show too well, I added a background stamp to the navy card base to add some interest.  This is called Modern Rose Blooms and is made by Simon Says Stamp.

I like the end result but it certainly wasn't a quick card to make 😊

Mouse on a mushroom

Good morning all. I hope you have had a great weekend. Today's card is one of my favourites from recent makes. I used the December 2018 My Monthly Hero kit from Hero Arts.

As you can see from my super imaginative title, this set includes this cute little mouse with a dandelion. I LOVE this little image.

I started by stamping the mouse on to white card stock, then I used a Molotow masking fluid pen to mask him, while I stamped the mushroom, so he could sit on top of it. I haven't tried masking fluid for quite some time, so I decided to give it another go, and it worked really well.

Once I had stamped my mushroom, I then coloured the images with Copic Markers, and stamped one of the sentiments from the kit.

Then I added a strip of paper to one side, before putting it all onto a red note card.

This card has now set off on a journey to one of my very good friends, for her birthday on Thursday. I hope you like it too. Take care and I'll see you soon.

Dandelion wishes

Hello everyone and thank you for joining us today.
I've had a few weeks off of card making and blogging and I'm finding it hard to get my mojo back.  Fortunately this month's Hero Arts kit provided some inspiration.

I love this little mouse and have used it on a couple of cards.  The design is very simple and only the sentiment has changed.

For this version I cut a post-it note mask and brushed broken china and cracked pistachio distress oxides to create a background.

The second version I left very plain and simple.  I love the colour of the first but I think this is my favourite.  What do you think?

I'm looking forward to using the rest of the kit over the next few weeks and making some lovely cards.

Skating in the park

Good morning all, I hope you have had a good weekend. Today is the last of my Christmas cards that I have to share with you. I love how this one turned out so I didn't want to forget about it.

I used the My Monthly Hero kit from October 2018 for today's card, plus an add on background stamp. I started by stamping the background snowflake stamp on to blue card and heat embossing with clear embossing powder. Then I added Blueprint Sketch and Black Soot Distress Oxide Inks over the top to give a night time wintry look.

I stamped my images using the included stamp set, and cut them out with the matching dies. Then I coloured them with Copic Markers.

I heat embossed my tree using the embossing powder that came with the kit, it has green and gold in it. Then I cut the tree in half to hang off the edge of the page.

I used Mama Elephant Stitched Border Trio dies for the snowy backdrop, then added my images on top.

To finish it off, I popped a Cut and Make sentiment, which I die cut in a soft gold card and stacked for dimension, at the top.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Jo Jo - Baubles

Good morning all, sorry for the unexpected hiatus, I can't believe it's been a whole month since we posted anything. All I can say is that life, illness, and Christmas had to take priority for a while, as we just didn't have the time or energy to dedicate to the blog too.

I also forgot to photograph most of the cards I made in December lol, but I did remember a couple , and today's card is one of them.

I used the Mama Elephant Joy Ornaments set to make this fun little card for my nephew, Joe. He has been known as Jo Jo (along with many other things), since he was little, so I used the stamps to spell out his name.

I heat embossed them onto navy blue card, using white fine detail embossing powder, and then added the little images around the out side. The Santa is a Clearly Besotted and the Reindeer is from a different Mama Elephant set, and I think the presents are from MFT Stamps.

I used a white jelly pen to add the falling snow to finish it off.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.
