Birthday boy #2

Hello again. This is another card for a male birthday.
I purchased the digi stamp from Handmade Harbour as I thought it appropriate for my brother.

 Isn't the sentiment great?

The image was coloured very simply and I matted it on matching card stock.

A purple ribbon was all I needed as embellishment.
Hope you like it. TTFN Jude xx

500 posts

Good morning all. Today we have reached the milestone of 500 posts. That's an awful lot of waffling for us lol.

But today is also the day where we say goodnight to dad. I won't go in to detail but dad's favourite colour was yellow and he loved elephants so I have made a little gift for mum to wear today.

They are simply yellow/gold pearls, a large yellow stone and some silver spacers with a small elephant charm. Then earrings to match.

But they are very pretty and mum loves them so that's all that matters.

Hope you like them too.

Thanks for stopping by again. Take care.

Birthday boy

Morning folks.  It's Jude here, back with another male card for today.

This is a really simple design requiring a few die cuts and layering - simples!

The 'Happy Birthday' is a freebie die from a recent magazine.  Once cut from blue paper I cut the die cut up to create separate letters.

This image is from the Lili of the Valley Action Time art pad.  I bought a set which has all masculine images so that I wouldn't be stuck for an appropriate topper.

The star is a Spellbinder die from the Jewel Treasures set.

I like blue and brown together and the image demanded this combination, so that made me very happy lol :)

Hope you like it.  TTFN Jude xx

Riley with presents

Good morning all and happy Monday to you. Hope you are all looking forward to a good week.

Today I have the card I made from the image I coloured a couple of weeks ago - Riley with presents.

He is coloured with Promarkers and cut out with Labels 29.

I decided to use a 7x5 card blank for a change and tried to use up some of the bits of paper I have left from other projects.

So he is layered on to a few different papers, the blue and yellow ones are from a Crate Paper pad - Random. But the stripe I'm not sure about lol.

I added a Lili of the Valley sentiment cut out with a 1 and 1/2 inch circle punch and edged with Faded Jeans Distress Ink.

Then to finish the card off I added a hand cut in yellow Coredinations card using Spellbinders Jewel Treasures dies. It just adds a bit of fun I think lol.

Anyway hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Anniversary #2

Hello again.  Jen explained yesterday that we've found it very difficult to get in crafty mood this last week.  However I forced myself to make something as I have a deadline for the anniversary cards for my friend Janet; this is the second of the three cards she asked for.

The image is from a new Lili of the Valley art pad called True Love.  I thought this was perfect for an anniversary card.

I cut the image using a Spellbinder deckle edge die and inked through with Old Paper Distress Ink.  I then coloured the very edge with Aged Mahogany. I used a 5 x 7 card blank, some cream cardstock and a piece of Grace Taylor paper to make up my matts and layers.  All these were inked with the same combination of colours.

The sentiment at the top is a gold rub on and I tied some matching ribbon across before adding the panel to the card blank.

The 'just for you' sentiment is also from Lili of the Valley, cut with a 1.5" scalloped circle punch and inked again.  I added it to the bottom using a foam pad.

All I need to do now is add a matching '30' to the bottom right.  Hope you like it.

Tilda with flower

Good morning all. Sorry that we have been missing for a few days but neither of us have had the heart for any crafting in the last week.

We had a really awful week last week. On Wednesday our cousin Garry passed away after a long battle with cancer, he was only 44. Then on Thursday we lost our dad. He had been battling lung cancer for the last few months but it still came as a massive shock.

So as you can imagine our minds have been elsewhere. But we have a lovely family who have all been absolutely brilliant and have supported each other through all of this.

Then mum said that we had to get back into crafting again as dad wouldn't have wanted us to stop. So here is the card I have made using dads favourite colour yellow.

The stamp is a new one to me called Tilda with flower. She is coloured with Promarkers and then cut out with spellbinders circle dies.

I matted her on to a Lacey edge die cut and then used some forever friends paper. The card base is a 6x6 blank layered with Centura pearl yellow card.

I finished the card with a la la land banner die cut and a spellbinders flower with a small green pearl in the middle.

Hope you like it. Take care.

Washi tape pot

Good morning all and welcome to another Monday. Hope you are all well. I spent a little time in the craft room yesterday trying to take my mind off things, and decided to do a quick and simple project.

This pot has been sat on Jude's desk for months with nothing done to it. So I decided it was about time for a makeover lol.

These washi tapes are from Paperchase and they are all very pretty, so I thought I would use these.

All I did was take lengths of each one and wrap them around the tin. Then repeated some of them until I got to the top.

Like I said very quick and simple but it still looks quite effective now it's finished.

Thanks for stopping by again, take care, see you soon.

Happy Birthday Matt

A bit late today but the last few days have been very difficult so we are allowed.

Wednesday my nephew Matt will be 22.  This is one of the cards I made to send to him.

The papers are all bits left over from other cards I've made recently (the yellow background was used to cut 2 stars for the wish card).  I used two scraps to cover the apertures and fixed it to a piece of dark red cardstock.

I used some cosmic shimmers to spray and dribble on to the yellow to add some interest.

To continue the theme I made star balloons and added twine.

The sentiment is another rub on added to more dark red card and shaped for dimension.

I hope you like it.  TTFN Jude xx

Anniversary #1

Morning all.  I've been asked by a friend to make some 30th anniversary cards.  She has three couples who all celebrate this milestone in the next few months and would like something different for each of them.

This is my first attempt.

The papers are from our stash matted on to dark red card stock.  I added a Tonic punched border and some chunky ric rac across the join.  The central element is the largest Spellbinders Opulent Ovals die inked with Antique Rose Cosmic Shimmer Vintage Mist.  I've used the same spray on the flowers.  These are a mix of Tattered Florals and Blossoms Three.

I used a rub on sentiment and cut it into three banners.  The centre was then raised on foam pads.

After I'd photographed it I suddenly realised I hadn't added the leaves or flower centres!  With those attached this is the final product.

Hope you like it. TTFN Jude xx

Work in progress

Good morning crafty friends hope you are all having a good week.
Today's post is as the title says a work in progress. I have been practising my colouring again and this lovely image is Riley with presents from Digistamp Boutique.

I coloured him with Promarkers and cut him out with labels 29. I even managed to use the metallic Promarkers that we've had for ages on the bow lol. I'm OK with most of it but his hair is not really grabbing me so that might get changed.

I have inked around the edges of the die cut with Faded Denim Distress Ink. Now I just need to find some time to make him into a card lol.

Thanks for stopping by again. See you soon, take care.

Washi tape

Happy Tuesday crafters.  Hope you are having a good week so far.

I'm continuing the male cards this week and this one was really quick and easy.

The typewriter paper is from Amy Tangerine and I cut a piece slightly smaller than a 6 x 6 card blank.

These letters remind me of using old typewriters when I first started work.  When we got electric ones we thought we'd really gone up in the world lol!

The three banners are cut from a set of 8 washi tapes bought from Paperchase last year.  This is the first time they've been used...........

Very simple and easy to do!  That's the type of card I like, lol.

Murphy with paper

Good morning all, another Monday again lol. Hope you are all well and had a nice weekend.

Today's card is using another of the images that I got from Digistamp Boutique a couple of weeks ago. This one is called Murphy with paper.

I coloured him with Promarkers and then cut him out by hand.

I used a 6 x 6 Kraft card blank and matted it with a piece of white Centura Pearl. Then I cut circles from Kraft card and some mustard coloured Coredinations card and layered the frames up.

I tied some twine around the top and then added a small Studio Calico wood veneer sentiment.

I placed Murphy in the bottom corner and then finished the card with a few stars cut from Kraft card.

Hope you like it, thanks for stopping by again.

See you soon.
