Love Birds

Today I have a card made using a new-to-us set from Clearly Besotted.  This is called Red Robin.

It is actually a Christmas set but I coloured the birds grey, like little doves instead.

I stamped them on white card and added a ground with Copic markers.

I cut this with a scalloped edge die and added it to a piece of matt silver card.

I also added a few hearts from my stash.

The background is Simon Says Stamps rose background stamp which I heat embossed with white on dove grey card.  I really like how this looks.

I added a simple sentiment in the balloon  to finish off.

Anniversary love

Hello crafty friends.  Thanks for joining us today.

This simple card was made for our Mum for New Year's Eve.  This year she and Dad would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.  My siblings and I wanted to let her know we were thinking of her.  

I used a technique I spotted on Jennifer McGuire's blog (http://www.jennifermcguireink.com/2016/12/stretching-supplies-dies-giveaway.html)

I die cut a heart and then used a word die for the sentiment.  This was then cut again twice from gold card.

I stacked the two die cuts to add a little depth and fit it back into the negative space on the heart..

A few drops of liquid pearls in gold pearl completed the card.

Anniversary wishes

Welcome and thank you for visiting us today.  My current offering was made for my niece and her husband's 5th wedding anniversary last week.

The paper was part of a Simon Says Stamp card kit from last year.  I love the soft colours with gold scheme and used some matching scraps to create an embellishment.

This gorgeous paper needed very little adding, so I stuck to simple embellishments and a gold embossed sentiment.  This sentiment is part of the Painted Poppies set by Altenew.

I embossed some plain white card and cut the hearts from this to match the stamping.

A quick and easy card, but effective I think :)

Altenew blue

Good morning all and happy Tuesday.  Hope you are having a good week.

Today's card is another made for Jen and Alan's anniversary a couple of weeks ago.

This is a very simple layout as I wanted the focus to be on the flowers.

These roses are from Altenew and were free on a magazine!  We have wanted some Altenew stamps and dies for ages but couldn't justify the costs, so this was a great way to try them out.  We will now be buying some!  They are brilliant quality and stamp really well.

These are triple layer stamps and you just need three colours of ink for the effect.  We have tried them in loads of different colour ways but I really love the blue.

Anniversary blue

Good morning and welcome to June!  Can you believe it is summer already?

A couple of Wednesdays ago was Jen and Alan's 15th wedding anniversary.  They went to York for the day and got a bit wet but in spite of that they had a lovely day.

I made them cards from a few family members and this is one of them.

The corner stamp was free on a magazine and is made by Clear Impressions.  I used Bahama Blue memento ink to stamp the image.

The navy blue cardstock is from the stash and I used it for the sentiments and backing.  The happy die is an MFT and the anniversary is from Cheery Lynn Designs.  I doubled them up for a little more dimension.

15th Wedding Anniversary

Good morning all, I hope you are having a good week. Yesterday was mine and Alan's 15th wedding anniversary, and this is the card I made for him.

I didn't want anything too fussy, so went for something simple but with a nice sentiment.

The stars are cut with an MFT die called Star/Sky vertical. I cut it out of a piece of black card and then added a piece of silver card behind it.

I cut the piece down to fit an A2 card blank and then cut and coloured these cute sheep from Clearly Besotted.

I love this set, called Feeling Sheepish. As there are a few different sheep and extras in the set, they are so easy to colour and they stamp and cut beautifully.

The sentiment is from a Mama Elephant set called Shooting Star, and I cut it out with a Marianne Designs Postage Stamp die.

Then I just added a couple of little punched hearts to finish it off.

Happy couple

Hello friends.  Today Jen and I are jetting off for a weeks break 'sin la familia'.

We are going to Ibiza to spend time doing nothing but chilling out, eating and drinking.  Hopefully we will come back fully refreshed and ready to face the onslaught of Christmas!

Before that I am sharing the last of the anniversary cards.

This lovely image is from Wee stamps and was used for Kay and Ian's anniversary last month.  I coloured the image using Copic markers and the techniques I learnt from my Kit and Clowder classes.

I'm happy with how it turned out.

'Owl' love you always

Hello again

This card was made for my brother John, to send to Catherine and Jamie last week.

The owls and tree are from a My Favourite Things stamp and die set called Things with Wings.  I originally intended to die cut them and have some dimension, but I loved the flat look.

The only dimension comes from the die cut clouds.  These use another set called Hello Sunshine, made by Lawn Fawn. 

I then added a sentiment from a Cheery Lynn Designs die.

Sky trails

This is the anniversary card I made for my granddaughters to send to Mummy and Daddy last weekend.

I started off by inking a piece of white card with a Dew Drop ink (pearlescent sky blue) to look like a cloudy sky.  I don't think it came out too badly.

I then added an inked plane and sentiment using the stamped die cuts.

I love this little aeroplane and its various trailing sentiments.  There are several word trails and a banner with sentiments to be stamped inside.

This time I used one of the smoke formation sentiments and a few heart-shaped smoke rings.  They were a little fiddly to cut and stamp, but worth the effort.

The other sentiment is made up from a couple of other stamp sets.

One year on

Good morning all.  I'm safely back from Birmingham so you can rest easy now, lol!

Yesterday was my daughter and son-in-law's wedding anniversary.  It doesn't feel like a whole year but it is.  I saw a similar print to this one on Pinterest and loved the idea so adapted it for a card.

The idea is to count all the days, minutes, seconds etc. since the wedding.  I thought this was such a clever idea and set out to copy it in a word document, which I could then resize to fit a 5 x 7 card blank.

Typing out the details took hardly any time at all.  Getting everything in to a decent looking font and lining it all up took forever!

I won't be dashing to do one again, lol.

I'm will be framing it for them later this week, so they can hang it on the stair case.

Cat and Jamie love the card.  Hope you do to.

Wedding rings

Last week, Jen's daughter and son-in-law celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary.  I made this card for my daughter and family to send to them.

The rings are two dies from a circle set layered together.  I then added a few hearts and cut the smaller circles using an MFT die.

We struggled with an anniversary stamp.  Both Jen and I were convinced we had one, but could we find it?  In the end we settled for one from a very old (and cheap) stamp set Jen purchased when she first started.  Needless to say we have now corrected this omission from our collection LOL

I felt the rings really needed something else, so I dug out some of our dazzlers and large jewels.  This square cut seemed to fit perfectly.

Kay and Ian

Yesterday Jen shared the card she had made for her daughter and son-in-law.  Today I have one of the cards I made for their anniversary.

This card started off totally differently and evolved along the way!  As is often the case I had to adapt as I totally messed up the first attempt.

My problem was the embossing.  I can not seem to emboss without getting excess powder on the background - even though I always use an anti-static bag to wipe over first!

Anyway this stamp set is called Sending You by Avery Elle, which I embossed with Liquid Platinum by Ranger.  The die is scripty hugs from Lawn Fawn, cut from dark red card covered with Studio Calico washi tape.

In the end it didn't turn out too badly.  Hope you like it.

All that glitters

Hello again crafty friends :)

I promise that these are the last wedding anniversary cards!!

This one is so simple, just 2 circle dies, an alphabet die, and some high gloss gold card.

I used a simple stamped sentiment and matted that with more of the gold.

For this one I used a piece of decorative paper and embossed a stamp with liquid platinum embossing powder.

I then used some gold peel-offs for the message at the bottom.

Two quick and easy cards, but very effective.
