Dandelion wishes

Hello and welcome.

I hope our UK friends had a good bank holiday yesterday, and our US friends had an enjoyable memorial weekend.

Today's card is for a very special little girl (my great niece!) who celebrates her seventh birthday today.  Happy birthday Izzy Lou!

For this card I started with the Hero Arts starry sky background stamp in Altenew dusk ink. I created my panel and added a strip of grass along the bottom using an MFT die.

I stamped, coloured and die cut the mouse and mushroom images from Hero Arts December 2018 My Monthly Hero kit, then added them using foam squares.

I used a sentiment from the same set and cut this with a flag banner die, before adhering the whole piece to a standard white card base.

Rainbow Unicorn

Good morning all, I hope you are having a good week so far. Today's card is one I made for a young lady who turned 10 on Saturday.

I used stamps from Issue 42 of Creative Stamping , called The Enchantment Collection. I stamped the unicorn with Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide Ink, and then heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.

I used Copic markers to add some colour to the mane and tail, and then I heat embossed one of the sentiments from the same set. 

  I used one of the small stamps from the set with some Altenew Crisp Dye ink cubes which are similar colours to the Copics, to stamp a background.

Then I cut the panel out with a stitched rectangle die and added it all to a turquoise card base.

Mosaic Love

Good morning all, thank you for stopping by today. I hope you have all had a lovely weekend, and got to enjoy the extra time off work if you could. Unfortunately it's now back to reality, but I am sending you all lots of love and hugs lol xx

I made this card a few weeks ago for my aunt and uncle's wedding anniversary. They are away at the moment and their anniversary isn't until the 12th but we wanted to make sure they had the card before they left.

I used the Concord and 9th Mosaic Turnabout stamp set, with Picked Raspberry and Iced Spruce Distress Oxide Inks.

This time I only used the outer ring of the stamp and left the centre plain. Then I embossed an MFT Stamps, Zig-Zag Stitched Circle in the centre.

The big Love die is a Marianne Design and I cut it twice, once in pink card and then in white card so that I could slightly offset them. Then I added black heat embossed sentiments which I think were either from an Altenew Set, or a WPlus9 set! but I now can't remember exactly lol.

Herd of Unicorns

 Good morning again.

This card was made for Keira's 6th birthday last weekend.  I wanted a magical looking background for a fairy tale creature, sitting amongst the clouds.

This idea worked so well it sparked another idea for using inked backgrounds and clouds which you can see in the other versions.

I stamped several of the Unicorns from Lawn Fawn's Critters Ever After, and coloured them all slightly differently.

I then cut several sentiment dies and layered them to achieve a bit of dimension.

For the first one I used various shimmer sprays over an embossed background.  The background was then coloured with Distress Oxide ink in Worn Lipstick.

For the other backgrounds I made a stencil using an MFT sunburst die.

I taped these over my panels and sprayed shimmer spray through the apertures.  As this dries it gives a lovely effect on the card, and the colours change depending on the card you start with.  All of these use the same sparkle coloured shimmer spritz.

I managed to get a picture that really shows off the shimmer well.

To add to the shine I used a few matching sequins.

For the other cards I made two baby cards and another birthday version.

Anniversary gift card

Happy Wednesday crafty friends and thanks for visiting us.

Today I'm sharing a gift card I made for my daughter and son-in-law's wedding anniversary gift.

I used the Paper Hug stamp set from Simon Says Stamp to make my card.  The inks are blush, rouge and velvet dye inks from Altenew.

The sentiment comes from the Mr & Mrs set by Clearly Besotted.

I used plain white card and some cherry red cardstock to match the inks.  The banners were cut with MFT stitched flags.

I stamped happy anniversary inside to finish off.

Anniversary blue

Good morning and welcome to June!  Can you believe it is summer already?

A couple of Wednesdays ago was Jen and Alan's 15th wedding anniversary.  They went to York for the day and got a bit wet but in spite of that they had a lovely day.

I made them cards from a few family members and this is one of them.

The corner stamp was free on a magazine and is made by Clear Impressions.  I used Bahama Blue memento ink to stamp the image.

The navy blue cardstock is from the stash and I used it for the sentiments and backing.  The happy die is an MFT and the anniversary is from Cheery Lynn Designs.  I doubled them up for a little more dimension.

Altenew Layered Roses

Good morning all, are you having a good week? I hope so, and I hope you are getting some good weather wherever you are.

Today's card is made using those beautiful Layered Rose stamps and dies from Altenew. I still can't believe that these were free on the Simply Cards and Papercraft magazine.

We have been wanting to try some Altenew stamps for a while now, but every time we see some they are out of stock!!! But these ones are lovely. I had a little play with different inks and different colours, but really loved the blues.

I used an A2 card blank and then layered white card on the front. Then I used some blue flowered washi tape along the top.

I grouped the roses together and then stamped the leaves and cut them out. Then I arranged them around the flowers.

I used one of the greetings that came with the set and cut it out with an MFT banner die from a blueprints set, and then finished the card with a few sequins from Lucy's Cards, this mix is called Robin's Egg.

Mono floral

Hello again.  I'm back today with a very simple card based on a few beautiful floral creations I have seen lately.

This is a corner stamp we received free on a magazine a long time ago, so I don't remember which one.  Before I chose it for this card I don't think we had even opened it!

I stamped twice with black memento ink just slightly off the edge of my white panel.  As I knew I would be using one of these sunny yellow card blanks I decided to stick to a very small amount of colour in the flowers.

The die is cut twice from card stock which matches the blank.  The die is by My Favorite things and is definitely one of my favourites :)  I stamped the last part of the sentiment and added a few yellow sequins.

I'm really pleased with how this looks and intend to try some more similar designs.

Good morning, and hello from sunny Spain. I'm off on my holidays this week, so by the time this post goes live I will hopefully be enjoying my breakfast in some lovely sunshine. 

A very simple male card today, although it could easily be a female card with a slightly different sentiment. 

I used part of the Camden Town stamp set from Crafters Companion. I stamped the images with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and then coloured them with Copics.

The sentiment is also from the same stamp set also stamped with the black Memento ink.

I used the MFT Stamps Stitched Squares dies to cut out the centre panel and then matted it on some deep red cardstock. 

I used a 6 x 6 Kraft card blank for the base and it was all finished.

You Rock

Good morning all, hope your week is going well. Can you believe this crazy weather that we are having in the UK at the minute. Over 30 degrees yesterday, and believe me I could feel every one of them in the office at work! We can't have the air con on as people complain that it's too cold so we just boil instead lol. I don't know how I would manage if I lived somewhere that got really hot ???

Anyway, today's card is the one I made for Mum to send to my son on his birthday on Sunday. I used a guitar stamp that came with a set on a magazine, and cut it out by hand.

Then I coloured it with Copics and added a 3D glaze over the top to make it shine. Then when it was dry I added some metal brads for a bit of decoration.

The corner die is made with an MFT Stamps Blueprints die set. I cut the die on an angle and then cut it in to a corner on the guillotine.

I stamped the Grandson using Jet Black Archival ink and a Crafters Companion stamp, from the Sentimentals - Male set.

Then I used a Spellbinders Die D-Lites set to cut the music notes.

I put it all on a 6 x 6 Kraft card blank with some denim and yellow papers from the stash and then added a liner to the inside.

To finish it off I added some musical notes washi tape to the inner sheet and then stamped a Happy Birthday message in the centre.
