Unicorn clouds

Hello again.  You'll have to forgive the poor pictures of today's card.  The light wasn't good and the background cardstock is shiny - not a good combination.

Anyway this is quite a simple design and very easy to replicate.  I used one stamp set, a cloud die and a few Copic markers.

I coloured the unicorn with pinks and purples then chose cardstock to match.

I cut several cloud borders and layered them using foam tape.

The finishing touch was a few heart stamps.  

This card is for a 7 year old girl who informs me that, apart from giraffes, unicorns are her favourite animal, lol.  Hope she likes it.

Magical Birthday Wishes

Good morning all, I hope you have had a good weekend, and are having a good week so far.

Today's card is the one I made for a little girl who turned 7 yesterday. Her favourite animals are giraffes and unicorns, so I thought this was a safe bet lol.

I used Distress Oxide inks to create the background panel, Fossilized Amber, Picked Raspberry, and Broken China. These three give this lovely rainbow effect by creating other colours where they overlap.

The images are both Lawn Fawn, the unicorn is from the Critters Ever After set, and the fairy is from the Fairy Friends set.

I coloured them with Copic markers and then cut them out with their matching dies. I cut the panel with an Avery Elle, Wonky Stitched Ellements die, and cut an aperture with a star die. 

Then I added it all to a bright pink card blank using foam tape to raise the panel, and heat embossed a Lawn Fawn Scripty Saying stamp onto black card for the sentiment.

After I had taken the photos I couldn't resist adding a few coloured sequins and a number 7 lol.

Herd of Unicorns

 Good morning again.

This card was made for Keira's 6th birthday last weekend.  I wanted a magical looking background for a fairy tale creature, sitting amongst the clouds.

This idea worked so well it sparked another idea for using inked backgrounds and clouds which you can see in the other versions.

I stamped several of the Unicorns from Lawn Fawn's Critters Ever After, and coloured them all slightly differently.

I then cut several sentiment dies and layered them to achieve a bit of dimension.

For the first one I used various shimmer sprays over an embossed background.  The background was then coloured with Distress Oxide ink in Worn Lipstick.

For the other backgrounds I made a stencil using an MFT sunburst die.

I taped these over my panels and sprayed shimmer spray through the apertures.  As this dries it gives a lovely effect on the card, and the colours change depending on the card you start with.  All of these use the same sparkle coloured shimmer spritz.

I managed to get a picture that really shows off the shimmer well.

To add to the shine I used a few matching sequins.

For the other cards I made two baby cards and another birthday version.

Have a Magical Birthday

Hello crafty friends and welcome to a very special day.  It is the celebration of Jen's 45th birthday!  Yes, my little sister is now officially in her mid 40's lol and back to being just 2 years younger than me ;)

Last night we had a family meal at a local restaurant and today we are off on a magical mystery tour.  Jen has no idea where we are going and she hates it.  She tries but really doesn't like secrets and not knowing what's happening (control freak? no not Jen lol!)  I will report back at another time on our outing.

 

This is the wonderful Magical Books and Unicorns which I used for my card to Jen.  I love how this card came together, everything just worked - it's probably because it was made with a lot of love :)

I have a tendency to go mad with flowers but I felt I couldn't get away with less than this.  What do you think?

At the last minute I remembered to add a sentiment (DUH!)  This is from Lili of the Valley.
