A simple sentiment

Friday at last.  I'm still not feeling the card making inspiration but I'll keep trying.

Today's card is extremely simple and consists of one sentiment and a piece of patterned paper.

I heat embossed a sentiment from the Sept SSS card kit diagonally across a piece of red card.

I chose a co-ordinating paper and cut it at an angle to match the sentiment.

I then added these cut pieces either side of the embossing.

This has to be one of the quickest designs to make.  I have left it plain as I want this to be a masculine card, but it could be made with floral papers and added flowers or with bright papers and embellishments for a child.  The choices are endless.

Happy Happy Happy Happy Birthday

Good morning all, hope you are having a good week and looking forward to the weekend.

Today's card is one I made for my granddaughter Isabelle who was 3 yesterday. This one was from my Mum to send.

I used the stamps and die from the MFT Stamps Wild Things set for the elephant. Which I stamped with black Memento ink on to soft grey card. 

For the sentiment stamp I used a new set from Studio Calico, which has a few different circles and sentiments in, so you can make up your own. 

The balloons are made with the WPlus9 Whole Lotta Happy die set, I cut two with the bright pink card and then the third with white vellum. 

The number 3 is cut with the MFT Stamps Bright Lights Numbers and Symbols set. 

Then I drew the balloon strings in by hand with a silver sparkle pen.

Ice cream

Jen and I have just bought the Simon Says Stamp Card Kit of the Month for August, called SUMMER DREAMS.  Of course I had to try it first lol!

I made another plain and simple card, using one stamp, one piece of co-ordinating paper and a sentiment.  What do you think?

I stamped the cone six times and coloured them three different ways.  I then decoupaged two together to give a bit of depth.

 I stamped the sentiment in 3 colours, cut it up and used a different colour for each part.

I also added a ribbon through the centre.  

So there it is. A sweet summer card.

Happy Birthday number cards

Happy Sunday readers.  Hope you've had a good weekend so far.

Today my eldest son is 24, so Happy Birthday Ted!

As I had so many cards to make for this weekend I decided to double up on the boys cards.

I used the same concept and layout for the cards but just changed one item.  In this case the ages.

I think these are simple but effective cards for any man, whatever his age.

This one was for Daniel's birthday yesterday.

Very simple

Hello again.

This weekend we have three family birthdays - 2 on Saturday and 1 on Sunday!

Out of necessity some of the cards have been very simple, like this one.  I like CAS cards as they can be made in a hurry :)

I took coordinating papers and cut them in to banners.  I then attached them to a 6 x 6 kraft card blank, ensuring they were at different heights and over lapped each other.  It is a very easy layout and can use up some of those scraps we all love to save (just in case) lol.

So that's it for me today as I'm off to London until tomorrow evening - it's work unfortunately.  Anyway I'll catch you soon, TTFN Jude xx

Washi tape

Happy Tuesday crafters.  Hope you are having a good week so far.

I'm continuing the male cards this week and this one was really quick and easy.

The typewriter paper is from Amy Tangerine and I cut a piece slightly smaller than a 6 x 6 card blank.

These letters remind me of using old typewriters when I first started work.  When we got electric ones we thought we'd really gone up in the world lol!

The three banners are cut from a set of 8 washi tapes bought from Paperchase last year.  This is the first time they've been used...........

Very simple and easy to do!  That's the type of card I like, lol.

Simply the best.

Good morning everyone, the start of another week is here already. These weekends just seem to flash by now lol. Hope you managed to get in some crafty time. 

Jude and I managed a little trip to Hobbycraft on Saturday to stock up on a few essentials, and I was really, really good. The only extra we got was the new goody bag from Docrafts. ;o))

Anyway a nice clean and simple card today. 

I love this stamp. It's one that Jude has had for a while but I've never used it before. 

I stamped it with a natural pigment ink and then heat embossed with copper embossing powder. Then I cut it out using Spellbinders labels 29. 

I used a stamp from a Creative Expressions set for the sentiment and stamped it with the same ink and heat embossed with the same colour embossing powder. 

I added two little metallic pearls to finish the card and that was it.
