Washi tape

Happy Tuesday crafters.  Hope you are having a good week so far.

I'm continuing the male cards this week and this one was really quick and easy.

The typewriter paper is from Amy Tangerine and I cut a piece slightly smaller than a 6 x 6 card blank.

These letters remind me of using old typewriters when I first started work.  When we got electric ones we thought we'd really gone up in the world lol!

The three banners are cut from a set of 8 washi tapes bought from Paperchase last year.  This is the first time they've been used...........

Very simple and easy to do!  That's the type of card I like, lol.

Hello girls

Hello lovely visitor. Thank you for joining us again. 

Today's card is another made from my scrap box. The image is from the Wear With Style set I purchased a few days ago and is all the girls together. 

The background is three papers from my Amy Tangerine pad.  These were odd shaped pieces but when I fit them together I found I could make a sort of sun ray design.  I was going to cut them into thinner strips and make a proper sun ray but in the end I decided to stick with them whole.  I think it works ok and will try the layout again using thinner pieces.  The bottom corner has a kraft card circle cut to fit but is now covered by my flower!  All the edges have been inked with Scattered Straw Distress Ink.

I am very fond of this image; it's fun, girly and would be suitable for a variety of occasions.  I coloured the image with Promarkers and mainly stuck to pinks, purples and browns.  I inked the edge with Scattered Straw and matted with kraft card.

The sentiment is cut from another piece of the paper, but I have to confess this is not from the scrap box!  I had to use a new sheet but at least the rest is now scrap lol ;)

I mounted the sentiment on more kraft card added my paper rose to the bottom, then made some curls from the wire stems of the flowers.  These are so easy to do but I love the effect they give.

So that's how it was done.  The whole piece is a 6 x 6 card blank and I can think of several occasions that I could use it for, so I don't think it will sit in our stash for long.

Wear With Style

Morning crafty friends, it's Monday again.  They soon come around don't they?

Over the weekend I was browsing some crafty blogs and found an image I really liked which had been bought from an Etsy shop.  Of course I had to go take a look and ended up purchasing the same set!  It is called Wear With Style and was purchased from All Dressed Up.  Do you like what I did with her?

The image was coloured with different shades of brown promarkers then cut out.  I knew I wanted to use her as a figure on her own and not on a matt so this is what I came up with.

I cut a dark brown adorning square matt to use behind my girl.  The paper is from an Amy Tangerine paper pad by American Crafts.  I loved the colour combinations.

The motif in the corner would have been covered by the matt so I carefully cut around the image with my craft knife and slid the square behind it.

The sentiment is my current favourite stamp.  It is really versatile and I have used it alot recently.  This was matted on to another piece of the orange paper and added to the matt.

The ribbon, button and twine are from our stash and were adhered with silicone glue.

I am very fond of this image and can see me using more of this style.  The card turned out better than I envisioned and will be used for my niece Staci's birthday next week.

Initial art

Morning all.

The last couple of days has seen me working on a piece of art for my newly tidied bedroom.

Over the weekend Jen and Alan helped me move out a couple of bits of furniture and rearrange what remained into a more user friendly space.  It is still a long way from finished , but we've made a start.

The walls are white and I have bought some beautiful wallpaper which has muted tones.  I've decided to go for grey as an accent colour and have used different grey papers from my Amy Tangerine stash to create the background to this art piece.

The letter was downloaded from a link I found on Pinterest.  I'm not sure where it came from to be able to credit the originator, so if this was you, or someone you know, "Thank You".

These melt art pieces came from our stash and just add in a bit of extra depth to the piece.

Bunting

The many blogs I read or websites I follow, are to do with crafts, home décor or organisation.

A while ago I spotted a post for letter downloads on the Shanty 2 Chic website which were used to create a banner. Check out the post here.

I love the simple design and decided to make the same banner for my bedroom.  First step was to print the required letters on to white paper and cut them out.

I took papers from the Amy Tangerine 12x12 pad I got for my birthday, and layered the letters to create a larger sized pennant.

A ribbon from East of India was added top the top to hang the bunting.  What do you think?  Just need to hang it on my wall.
