Watercoloured flowers

Good morning all, hope you are having a good week so far. As Jude said yesterday it was Mum's birthday at the weekend and this is one of the cards I made for family members to send to her.

I had another little play at watercolouring with Distress Inks. This time I used Peacock Feathers, Mustard Seed and Chipped Sapphire.

I randomly painted the inks on to a piece of watercolour paper with plenty of water, until I had a background that I liked.

While that was drying, I took a few plain paper flowers and gave them some watercolour treatment too. Then I added a few highlights with a white gel pen.

I watercoloured a second sheet of card with the same colours and then cut some leaves using a Sue Wilson die.

The quote is a rub-on from a Kaisercraft set, which I thought was lovely. I finished it off with some microbeads in the centre of the flowers.

I am really pleased with this, hope you like it too. Take care and I'll see you soon.

More wedding cards

Today I have another Wedding card to share with you. This one was for my nephew Daniel and his partner Staci to send to the happy couple.

The image is a pre-coloured topper from Lili of the Valley, which I layered on two designer papers from the stash.

I used silky crush ribbon, a couple of feathers, a crochet flower and as paper flower to make an embellishment.

I also added a couple of extra flowers and a couple of dark green pearls.

This was quite a quick make as the image was done for me, but I like to think it looks like it took a lot of time and skill, lol!

Lily's Room - Door Plaque

Good morning all, hope you are well. I'm back at work today after a few days off because of the flu etc. So I hate to think what's waiting for me lol. But I'm sure it will be OK.

You may remember a couple of weeks ago, I made a door name plaque for one of my granddaughter's, Isabelle.

Well when her big sister saw it she asked if she could have one, but a little more grown up. Well she is a big 6 lol. So this is what I've made for Lily.

I used an artists canvas board again, but this time I covered it with lots of pieces of paper from the stash, all cut at different sizes.

I inked all around the edge with Picked Raspberry Distress Ink, and then sealed it all with Ranger Glue N Seal.

The little girl is an All Dressed Up digi stamp, which I coloured with Copics and Spectrums. I stuck her on with Cosmic Shimmer and then went over her with Glue N Seal.

I coloured the chipboard letters with a Picked Raspberry Distress Marker, and stuck them on. I wanted to give the letters a bit of definition so I went around them with a black fine liner pen.

Then I added three different types of lace to the bottom using the hot glue gun and finally finished it off with a ribbon bow and some paper flowers.

Hope you like it, Lily loved it.

Take care, see you soon.

Purple power

Wednesday again and our holiday is almost over - boo hoo!

Here is a card I made just before we left home last week lol.

This is yet another Saturated Canary image called Pocket Valentine. I'm really loving the purple combos at the minute so here's another.

I added a few flowers and bits too :)

So there she is.  What do you think?

I went a bit OTT!!

Happy Birthday Mum!!

Earlier in the week I told you about the card I made that I decided to send to Mum.  Well she has now received it so I can share it with you.

Isn't it gloriously over the top?? Lol

I used the image of Princess Honor and stuck to a green, black and kraft scheme.

I used a doily from the Curiosity Corner collection, papers from the Midnight Blush collection and layered them with black and kraft card.  I really like this combination.

I then went overboard with embellishments.

There is ribbon, paper flowers, burlap, paper flowers, feathers, and did I mention paper flowers, lol?

I added some silky crush ribbon in a lovely olive green under the layers and tied a large bow in the corner.

The card weighs a ton and is certainly not one that could be posted, but I love it.  Hope you do too.

Little Girl Blue

Hello again.  Jude back with another Lili of the Valley art pad topper.  This time it's from a set called Just for Girls.

Isn't she a cutie?  I matted the image with navy blue card and chose two background papers from my stash.  One is Bo Bunny, the other is My Mind's Eye.

I cut the sentiment with a 1.5" scallop circle and matted it on a 2" plain circle.

The flowers are also from the stash with some wire curly cues.

I don't often use blue so this made a change for me.

Hello girls

Hello lovely visitor. Thank you for joining us again.

Today's card is another made from my scrap box. The image is from the Wear With Style set I purchased a few days ago and is all the girls together.

The background is three papers from my Amy Tangerine pad.  These were odd shaped pieces but when I fit them together I found I could make a sort of sun ray design.  I was going to cut them into thinner strips and make a proper sun ray but in the end I decided to stick with them whole.  I think it works ok and will try the layout again using thinner pieces.  The bottom corner has a kraft card circle cut to fit but is now covered by my flower!  All the edges have been inked with Scattered Straw Distress Ink.

I am very fond of this image; it's fun, girly and would be suitable for a variety of occasions.  I coloured the image with Promarkers and mainly stuck to pinks, purples and browns.  I inked the edge with Scattered Straw and matted with kraft card.

The sentiment is cut from another piece of the paper, but I have to confess this is not from the scrap box!  I had to use a new sheet but at least the rest is now scrap lol ;)

I mounted the sentiment on more kraft card added my paper rose to the bottom, then made some curls from the wire stems of the flowers.  These are so easy to do but I love the effect they give.

So that's how it was done.  The whole piece is a 6 x 6 card blank and I can think of several occasions that I could use it for, so I don't think it will sit in our stash for long.

That's all from me for today.  TTFN Jude xx

Betty

Hello again. Thanks for visiting.

I have another card using the differing shades of pink I used on my card on Tuesday.  This time I took a stamp from Acid Drops and What Nots to produce my image.  I like how amusing their stamps are.

I coloured Betty in shades of pink and used grey for her hat.  (I don't know why but it said grey felt to me lol)  This was then mounted on more of the Tina Higgins papers.

I started with an 8 x 8 card blank and added a piece of floral paper, then some pink Centura Pearl and used a Tonic punch on the bottom edge.  The waste was used to edge the bottom of the card.

I wrapped the cardstock with dusky pink ribbon and set it slightly off centre on the card blank.

The sentiment is part of the same stamp set.  I stamped it on plain card stock coloured the edge and cut it out free hand.  It was then raised on some foam pads.

I made up the corsage using various paper die cut flowers and some different styles of ready made flowers.  The whole piece is wired together underneath then attached with silicone adhesive.

So what do you think?  Does Betty pass muster?  I really like this and hope you do too.

Sunday 12th January

Morning again.  Isn't it cold??  I don't think I've been warm since last August lol.
To warm me up I decided to use some warm colours on my card for today.
What do you think?  The topper was the inspiration for the colour scheme.  Unfortunately Mr Blogger is playing about with the photos and keeps turning them around for me.  I couldn't get this one to play so you'll have to turn your head instead rofl!
I layered teal card with two different pink papers to bring out both colours in the image.  They are quite busy but I like them.
I love paper flowers and these seemed just right along with the ribbon and bow.  Jen took an idea from a magazine and made twirly bits with the wire flower stems.  I really liked the look of them on yesterday's card, so copied her.
The sentiment is from the same Hunkydory set as the topper image.
I added pink pearls to the corners and called it finished.  I hope you like it.
Thanks for stopping by.  TTFN Jude xx
