Lily's Room - Door Plaque

Good morning all, hope you are well. I'm back at work today after a few days off because of the flu etc. So I hate to think what's waiting for me lol. But I'm sure it will be OK.

You may remember a couple of weeks ago, I made a door name plaque for one of my granddaughter's, Isabelle.

Well when her big sister saw it she asked if she could have one, but a little more grown up. Well she is a big 6 lol. So this is what I've made for Lily.

I used an artists canvas board again, but this time I covered it with lots of pieces of paper from the stash, all cut at different sizes.

I inked all around the edge with Picked Raspberry Distress Ink, and then sealed it all with Ranger Glue N Seal.

The little girl is an All Dressed Up digi stamp, which I coloured with Copics and Spectrums. I stuck her on with Cosmic Shimmer and then went over her with Glue N Seal.

I coloured the chipboard letters with a Picked Raspberry Distress Marker, and stuck them on. I wanted to give the letters a bit of definition so I went around them with a black fine liner pen.

Then I added three different types of lace to the bottom using the hot glue gun and finally finished it off with a ribbon bow and some paper flowers.

Hope you like it, Lily loved it.

Take care, see you soon.

A little bit of altering

Good morning folks hope you are all well. As Jude said yesterday we have been busy helping my daughter and family to decorate their new home so we haven't had much time in the craft room. But I did manage to sneak in for a couple of hours yesterday. I was supposed to be making a card, but my daughter arrived with an armful of items that she wants altering to match her new decor!

So away went my card supplies and out came glue and hundreds of gems, sequins and flowers all in different shades of blue or clear. These are to decorate a mirror for the bathroom that K chipped while moving it.

Of course it had to be round didn't it? lol I'm sure square would have been much easier. But I had a go and it has turned out OK. I started off with the hot glue gun but it was just drying far too quickly for me to get the gems on.

So I then changed to silicone glue, that was much easier to work with, but it does take much longer to dry. If I had any I would have preferred to use something like E6000 glue, it is really strong and dries much quicker. But in the end I went back to the hot glue gun and stuck the gems one at a time.

I just put the gems on as randomly as I could so it's not a set pattern. I wasn't sure at first whether to go around the whole frame or just cover the area with the chip. But I decided to go around the whole lot in the end, and just make it a bit thicker down one side to give a bit of shape.

Anyway hope you like it and K too, lol.

See you soon, take care.

Pretty shade

Good morning all. Hope you are well. Today's post is a little altered lampshade for a change.

Mum has just had her bedroom redecorated in pretty blues and so wanted this plain black lampshade to look a bit prettier.

She didn't have any matching wallpaper left so I chose a paper that would tone in with her room. The paper is from the vintage notes collection and I used parts of 2, 12 x 12 sheets. I cut these to size and stuck them down with cosmic shimmer glue.

Then I added some pale blue ribbon over the seams and attached this with the hot glue gun.

I could have left it there but of course it wasn't quite enough for me so I got the lace out too.

I added lace to the top and bottom, again with the hot glue gun. And then to finish it off I added some small clear gem strips down each piece of ribbon.

It looks lovely at the side of Mum's bed.

Hope you like it. See you soon.

Take care.
