Silver Fairy

Good morning all, hope you are having a good week. 

Today's card is one I made for a friend who's birthday is on Saturday. 

I used the Silver Fairy digi stamp from Wee Stamps, and coloured her with Copic markers. Then I added a touch of Wink Of Stella Clear to her wings. 

I went for a blue and orange colour scheme for a change, and I think it turned out OK. 

The papers are from the Docrafts Papermania Vintage Notes collection and the blue and orange card is from Simon Stays Stamp kits. 

I used a Lili of the Valley ready made sentiment and added Marianne Vintage Lace and blue and orange ribbon. 

The leaf swirls are from an MFT die and I added a few different flowers and a little crystal butterfly.

Engagement Cards

Good morning all and welcome to the weekend.

Today's cards are two that I have made for my son and his girlfriend who recently got engaged. 

For this first one I used an Anita's background stamp and stamped it with Danube Blue Memento Ink. 

I cut the panel out and rounded the corners and then backed it with blue Coredinations card. 

Then I used alphabet stamps to stamp their initials. 

I wrote a sentiment for the inside on the PC and then printed this in a matching blue ink. 

I used some paper from the stash and then some lace from the Vintage Notes collection. 

I finished the card with some pearl trim that Staci bought me at Christmas. Then I cut a couple of the single pearls off to put inside the O's on the stamped panel. 

This next one is very similar to one I have made before, but this time for an engagement. 

I used a matching heart embossing folder and stamp set on to a Kraft 6 x 6 card blank. 

I stamped the heart and sentiment using Cocoa Brown Memento ink. I then stamped this again on a piece of paper for inside the card, but this time I didn't ink the With Love sentiment so it was a plain box in the middle. 

I tried a few different stamps in the centre but couldn't find one I liked, so I ended up using some dry rub on lettering on to some Kraft card and then sticking this in the centre.

Pretty shade

Good morning all. Hope you are well. Today's post is a little altered lampshade for a change. 

Mum has just had her bedroom redecorated in pretty blues and so wanted this plain black lampshade to look a bit prettier. 

She didn't have any matching wallpaper left so I chose a paper that would tone in with her room. The paper is from the vintage notes collection and I used parts of 2, 12 x 12 sheets. I cut these to size and stuck them down with cosmic shimmer glue. 

Then I added some pale blue ribbon over the seams and attached this with the hot glue gun. 

I could have left it there but of course it wasn't quite enough for me so I got the lace out too. 

I added lace to the top and bottom, again with the hot glue gun. And then to finish it off I added some small clear gem strips down each piece of ribbon. 

It looks lovely at the side of Mum's bed.

History Book

In just four short weeks, Jen and I are heading off for a holiday in Sardinia, and I can't wait!!  Until then we are trying to complete as many projects as possible so we have something to schedule while we are away.

One of the things we are keen to do is some altered art style projects.  I've started quite simply, with this note book.  This is used to keep notes from my other hobby - genealogy.  What do you think?

The image is obviously Denise from SC (again!) but she just seemed right for this project.

The letters are from Studio Calico and the papers are all from the Vintage Notes collection.

These flowers were bought at a craft fair a while back and are all wired together.  Normally I split these up but I decided to go for impact with these.

So that's it.  Something pretty to make my notes in.  Hope you like it.

For you

Good morning all, hope you are all well today and managing to get in some craft time this week. I got a little bit of time in the craft room last night and today's post is the result of that lol. 

Another non fussy card but I really like them like that sometimes. 

I started with the heart which is an Indigo Blu stamp and stamped it with a Big and Juicy ink pad in Mountain Meadow. I then cut it out with a Sizzix heart die and inked around the edges with Tattered Rose Distress Ink. 

I used papers from the Vintage Notes collection and matted them with a pink silk card. 

I added some vintage rose ribbon across the middle panel and then made a little bow for the top of the heart. 

I finished the card with some matching corners and a simple sentiment.

Monday 6th January

Monday morning and back to work for me - booooo! I know I've been off since Christmas Eve but I feel like I need longer, MUCH longer lol.
Anyway this is the last of the parents anniversary cards.  This is the one I sent them. 

I took a 6 x 6 kraft card blank and added 2 papers from the Vintage Notes collection. 

 

I die cut a heart from centura pearl after stamping the sentiment, and cut out a tag from the papers which I added the date to. 

 A few matching pearls and the flowers (which I love and really must buy more of) and the card was complete.

Happy Birthday from hAnglar

Morning all.  Hope you are a bit drier than we are.  It hasn't stopped raining all week!

My niece has asked Jen and I to make a couple of birthday cards for her to send.  Jen has a gorgeous creation to share with you later in the week, but I thought I'd show you the one I have made.

This is another hÄnglar image which I thought was perfect for a young woman.  It has the right amount of playfulness without being too childish.  I coloured the image with Promarkers, cut her out with a spellbinders die and inked through this with Tattered rose distress ink.

I then layered the image on to some pink coredinations card over two papers from my stash.  I chose a sentiment from the Vintage Notes collection, and added a simple knotted piece of ribbon. 

I also added a few pearls to accent the corners of the papers.

Vintage Friend

Morning folks and happy Sunday.  I can't believe I'm back to work tomorrow!!  It was such a busy week and I was looking forward to a nice quiet weekend, but we spent most of yesterday walking round a local shopping centre with my niece.

Today we are off to visit Joe as he is actually having a weekend at home for a change lol.  Apparently his TV has broken down so we are going to see if we can fix it.

I did manage to get a little crafty time last night though and made this card using the Docrafts Papermania Vintage Notes set.  I had some scraps left over from other projects and didn't want to throw them out, so I laid them as strips on a DL card blank.

The paper roses were bought on a recent scouting trip Jen and I did round the craft stores of Rotherham (jet setters or what?)  I really like the combination of the two pinks and cream with these vintage feel papers.

The sentiments were inked with my usual scattered straw distress ink and I added few pink pearls to finish.

A nice little card which can be put together quite quickly.  TTFN Jude xx

Vintage Notes

Welcome to Friday again ;)

 

We have almost finished with the family birthdays now until December, so hopefully we will be able to crack on with the Christmas cards.  Before then I have one last card for our Aunt who is 66 this weekend. 

I decided to use the Docrafts Papermania Vintage Notes Collection with a little washi tape, and this is what I came up with.

I took two of the linen feel papers, inked the edges with scattered straw distress ink, and layered them on a 5x7 card blank.  The heart topper and sentiment were matted on green card and the edges distressed and inked also.

The collection has matching flowers so I took four different ones and layered them to create this bloom.  The centre is silicone glue covered in dark flower soft and glitter.

I am pleased with the end result and hope Sheila will like it too.
