Spanish greetings

Good morning all, tomorrow my baby boy will be 27! I can not believe how quickly time really does pass lol. As he's headed to Germany for a few days with his beautiful wife, I have already given him his cards etc. so it's OK to share this one today.

I used the Hero Arts, April 2018 My Monthly Hero kit for the images. These were perfect for a card for D, as they have a Mexican/Spanish feel to me, and D has travelled to both Spain and Mexico a few times, and he speaks Spanish.

I stamped them with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and then coloured them with Copic Markers.

For the background, I cut a panel using a stitched rectangle die, and then softly blended some Distress Oxide inks, to give it a bit of a dessert look.

Then I stamped one of the sentiments from the set, which translates to Happy Birthday, and popped it on a dark orange card blank.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Sail away on your birthday

Good morning, hopefully this post is going live on Friday 22nd July while we are away lol.

Today's card is one I made for my son a few weeks ago. I used a Studio Calico map piece of card and then distress inked it with Tim Holtz inks.

I used a couple of circle dies to create the porthole window and cut the top layer with a wood effect paper from the stash. Then I wrapped a white string twine around it.

The little sailing boat is cut with a Simon Says Stamp die from one of their older kits and the wavey paper is from the same set.

I used the circle from the centre of the porthole plus a smaller stitched circle for the sentiment and stamped it with a sentiment from the coordinating stamp set.

Then I added a smaller sentiment in the top corner from a Mamae Elephant set called Mini Messages.

I inked everything with the same distress inks to make it look a bit aged and then added it all to a 6 x 6 Kraft card blank.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

25th Birthday Balloons

Good morning all, I hope you are having a good week. Today is my son's 25th birthday and this is one of the cards I made for him. I really can't believe that my baby is now 25, and currently away with his wife lol. He really can't be old enough!!!!! but anyway, happy birthday D, I really hope you have a lovely day xxxx

For this card I used the Avery Elle Wonky Stitched Frame for the background and then cut some balloons using the WPlus 9 Whole Lotta Happy dies. I used bits and pieces of paper from my scrap box for this.

I raised the balloons on foam tape and then added silver embroidery satin thread to each of them. I tied  a bow around the threads and then stuck these on to the card front.

For the sentiment I used the MFT Stamps Happy Everything die, and cut it from plain white card. Then I used some Copic markers with similar colours to the balloons to dot all over the word. I wanted the word to tone in but didn't want a solid colour and this seemed to work.

Then I used a birthday stamp from the Clearly Besotted Happy Birthday set to finish it off.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

The Worlds Best Uncle

Good morning all, today's card was made for my granddaughters to send to their uncle for his birthday last week.

It's a really simple card, I picked three different scraps of card from the stash and cut them into balloon shapes using the WPlus9 Whole Lotta Happy dies.

I raised some of them on foam pads and stuck some of them direct to the card front. Then I drew in the strings by hand. I had seen the little dots done on another card on Pinterest so I gave it a try and I really like the effect.

The Happy Birthday stamp is from a Nit Wit Collection and is stamped in Jet Black Archival ink.

I made the bottom banner by stamping a couple of sentiments from the Crafters Companion Sentimentals - Male set, again with Jet Black Archival ink.

Then I matted it all on to three pieces of card and put it all on to a 7 x 7 card blank.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Out of this world

Good morning all, hope you have all had a good weekend. We celebrated a couple of birthdays this weekend. One of them was my sons, and this is the card that I made for me and his dad to send.

I used the paper out of a Studio Calico paper pad, it was already printed with all of the little sayings around the earth. So I just added the main sentiment using Safmat.

I typed it on the computer and added the star around it then printed it on to Safmat and cut it out by hand.

I really like this product as it's transparent so you don't lose the image behind. I just forget we have it lol.

Then I used a Britannia die to cut the Son. I cut it twice from bright red card and layered it together. Then I covered it with Glossy Accents and left it to dry.

Once it was dry I added it to the front. Then I layered the main image on to some bright red card and put it all on a 7 x 7 card blank.

Then I used another Studio Calico paper for the inside. This one shows all of the constellations. I added a small arrow cut with an MFT Blueprints set and stamped his birthday date in the bottom corner.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Engagement Cards

Good morning all and welcome to the weekend.

Today's cards are two that I have made for my son and his girlfriend who recently got engaged.

For this first one I used an Anita's background stamp and stamped it with Danube Blue Memento Ink.

I cut the panel out and rounded the corners and then backed it with blue Coredinations card.

Then I used alphabet stamps to stamp their initials.

I wrote a sentiment for the inside on the PC and then printed this in a matching blue ink.

I used some paper from the stash and then some lace from the Vintage Notes collection.

I finished the card with some pearl trim that Staci bought me at Christmas. Then I cut a couple of the single pearls off to put inside the O's on the stamped panel.

This next one is very similar to one I have made before, but this time for an engagement.

I used a matching heart embossing folder and stamp set on to a Kraft 6 x 6 card blank.

I stamped the heart and sentiment using Cocoa Brown Memento ink. I then stamped this again on a piece of paper for inside the card, but this time I didn't ink the With Love sentiment so it was a plain box in the middle.

I tried a few different stamps in the centre but couldn't find one I liked, so I ended up using some dry rub on lettering on to some Kraft card and then sticking this in the centre.

Hope you like them, take care and I'll see you soon.

Graduation Day

Good morning all, yes today is my son D's graduation. I may have mentioned that back in the summer he passed his final exams and got a 1st Class Honours Degree in Engineering.

As you can imagine we are incredibly proud of him and what he has achieved. Especially since he has done this while working full time. From the day he left school he was determined that this is what he would do and although it's taken 7 years and an awful lot of hard work, he has done it. So today I get to dress up a bit and go and beam with pride while he receives his certificate. If he will let me I will post a pic of him in cap and gown soon lol.

Anyway after all that waffling, today's cards are some I made for D, for today.

I love this little Owl from Digi Stamp Boutique, he looks a bit frazzled lol.

I coloured him with Copics and cut him out with a circle die.

The papers are from Simon Says Stamp and the Stamp is a Clear Choice stamp that we've had for ages.

This next card is very simple.

I used a little stamp set that came free with a magazine last year.

I just liked the sentiment that came with it, as this one is from Mum and she is very proud of him.

The next one is all about the die's. I used Spellbinders Grand Decorative Labels One for the background.

Then I used the Sizzix/Tim Holtz Rosette die for the centre.

I used a number die to add the 1st to the centre and then added a small tag with class stamped on to it.

And finally, this card is made using another free set that came with a magazine.

This time it's a star embossing stencil, which I used on Centura Pearl card and then inked through the stencil with Faded Jeans Distress Ink.

I added Blue ribbon across the centre and then stamped the sentiment with the Distress Ink and heat set it with clear embossing powder.

I used the coordinating stamp to stamp over the large star, and then added Congratulations to the inside sheet.

Hope you like it, thanks for dropping by again, take care and I'll see you soon.
