History Book

In just four short weeks, Jen and I are heading off for a holiday in Sardinia, and I can't wait!!  Until then we are trying to complete as many projects as possible so we have something to schedule while we are away.

One of the things we are keen to do is some altered art style projects.  I've started quite simply, with this note book.  This is used to keep notes from my other hobby - genealogy.  What do you think?

The image is obviously Denise from SC (again!) but she just seemed right for this project.

The letters are from Studio Calico and the papers are all from the Vintage Notes collection.

These flowers were bought at a craft fair a while back and are all wired together.  Normally I split these up but I decided to go for impact with these.

So that's it.  Something pretty to make my notes in.  Hope you like it.

Isabelle and Denise

Happy Friday! Almost the weekend again and the start of another new month!

I have the second of Isabelle's birthday cards to show you today.

This is the card I made for my brother, John, to send and uses the Denise image from Saturated Canary.  I coloured this as one of my practice pieces last week.

I bought a new numbers stamp and matching die set from The Range a few weeks ago and finally got to use them.  I stamped the 2 then embossed with pink/gold frontage, before cutting with the corresponding die.

The 'Today' is from another set and is two layers decoupaged together for depth.

The paper is from Lili of the Valley, Bonnets and Bowties paper pad.

Denise

Today I thought I'd share with you a colouring I did using promarkers.  This style of colouring is a little outside my comfort zone, so the fact it turned out ok means I'm happy to show you (otherwise it would be in the bin!!)

This is Denise.  She is a new image from Saturated Canary (again lol).  I've coloured her once and she turned out ok BUT I've seen some fantastic versions where the shading was a bit more obvious.  I thought I'd try and if I can do it YOU certainly can :)

First add in the darkest parts of the image.  Yes this is VERY scary but not impossible.

Start adding in your hair colours............orange.............

....red................

.........and brown.  The hardest part for me is knowing when to stop lol.  

Anyway once I was happy with the hair I moved on to her boots and stockings.

Then her clothes and bag.

 Finally the hat and coat, and any small details that got missed first time ;)
