Always be a mermaid!

Good morning folks, hope you are having a good week so far. Today's card is the only card I have made in 3 weeks!!! and that's only because Jude's latest copy of Creative Stamping magazine landed on the doormat last week, and it included this stamp set.

It's a nautical themed set this time, and it included this lovely mermaid image and sentiment. It's a good job it came when it did as I needed something to give me a kick up the rear, and get me back in to crafting lol.

I used plain smooth white card and stamped the image with Versamark ink. Then I heat embossed it with Rainbow Sparkle embossing powder that came with a Simon Says Stamp kit last year.

The pics don't really do it justice as it really does sparkle with lots of different colours.

I wasn't sure what to put with it at first, but decided on the simple black sentiment and nothing else. Which for me is as close to CAS as I get lol.

I did decide to give it a bit of a frame though with black card and then made a Matt silver card blank for it to sit on.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Dance in the rain

Good morning all, hope you are well and having a good weekend.

Today's card is about as simple as it gets. This beautiful piece of card came in a set that Jude got at Christmas, and until now we haven't cut in to them. But I thought it was about time lol.

I was going to use it as the background to another image, but when I put it on the card base I thought it really didn't need any more decoration than it already has.

So I stamped one of my favourite quotes from an MFT Stamps set called Blue Skies Ahead. I used Jet Black Archival ink and then just layered this on to a piece of silver card and raised it on foam tape.

Done and dusted! hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

CAS - Fail!

Good morning crafty friends. Hope this Friday finds you well. Are you looking forward to the weekend? Lets hope the weather is kind to us all.

Well as you can tell from the title I tried to do a really clean and simple card today! And as you probably know by now this is not my style at all. So what started out CAS, turned into, well not so CAS lol ;o)) But I still like it.

I started by using a couple of new embossing folders that came free on a recent craft mag.

The little birds on a branch one at the top and Happy Birthday at the bottom.

Then it was supposed to be a simple piece of ribbon between and all finished. But of course I couldn't leave it like that, so out came the shimmer chalks to go over the embossed patterns. They don't show up well in the photos but they are lovely and shimmery IRL.

Then it still looked too plain for me so I added Washi tape to the middle and a row of gems.

Then I tied a piece of ribbon around the edge and finished it off with a few tiny gems.

Hope you like it too.

Take care, and I'll see you soon.

CAS Card

Good morning all, a very quick post today as I'm off for an interview for another job - so wish me luck lol.

I had a go at a very clean and simple card and this is the result.

I coloured the rubber stamp with Distress Markers, using Dusty Concord and Peeled Paint. Then gave the stamp a bit of a spritz with water and stamped straight on to the card front.

Then I used a couple of sentiment stamps again with the Dusty Concord colour to stamp on the top and inside of the card.

Not perfect but I really like it. Hope you do too.

Take care, see you soon.

Simply the best.

Good morning everyone, the start of another week is here already. These weekends just seem to flash by now lol. Hope you managed to get in some crafty time.

Jude and I managed a little trip to Hobbycraft on Saturday to stock up on a few essentials, and I was really, really good. The only extra we got was the new goody bag from Docrafts. ;o))

Anyway a nice clean and simple card today.

I love this stamp. It's one that Jude has had for a while but I've never used it before.

I stamped it with a natural pigment ink and then heat embossed with copper embossing powder. Then I cut it out using Spellbinders labels 29.

I used a stamp from a Creative Expressions set for the sentiment and stamped it with the same ink and heat embossed with the same colour embossing powder.

I added two little metallic pearls to finish the card and that was it.

Hope you like it. See you soon, take care.
