Happy Giraffes

Good morning all, hope you are enjoying your weekend. We haven't been up to much this weekend, just trying to get the craftroom finished off and organised. So this is one of the cards I made last week for my grand daughter's birthday.

I used the MFT Stamps Wild Things stamp and die set for the giraffes. I stamped then in Rich Cocoa Memento Ink on white card. I was then going to colour them but I liked them like this.

The paper is from the stash and I matted it with a dark orange/brown Coredinations card.

I also stamped the little giraffe again on the inside for a bit of interest.

The number 3 is cut with the MFT Stamps Bright Lights Numbers and Symbols set.

I stamped the sentiment on to white card and then cut it out with Spellbinders Labels 24. Then I cut a mat for it by hand.

The sentiment is made up with a Molly Moo set and the 'Niece' from a Crafters Companion Sentimentals set.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Molly

Saturday at last!  I wish the weekend could last longer though lol.

Today is a very special day as we celebrate the 5th birthday of a very special lady - our Molly Moo!

I have made her a sweet little card using the Lawn Fawn stamp and die set called Critters at the Dog Park.

I chose two characters who look like they could be Molly's friends :)

For the sentiment I used my favourite 'scripty sayings' set.

I then went a bit overboard with sequins lol.

I'm very happy with this and I'm sure Molly loves it!!

Happy Happy Happy Happy Birthday

Good morning all, hope you are having a good week and looking forward to the weekend.

Today's card is one I made for my granddaughter Isabelle who was 3 yesterday. This one was from my Mum to send.

I used the stamps and die from the MFT Stamps Wild Things set for the elephant. Which I stamped with black Memento ink on to soft grey card.

For the sentiment stamp I used a new set from Studio Calico, which has a few different circles and sentiments in, so you can make up your own.

The balloons are made with the WPlus9 Whole Lotta Happy die set, I cut two with the bright pink card and then the third with white vellum.

The number 3 is cut with the MFT Stamps Bright Lights Numbers and Symbols set.

Then I drew the balloon strings in by hand with a silver sparkle pen.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Happy birthday Izzy Lou

Today Jen's youngest grandchild, Isabelle, celebrates her third birthday.  This is one of the cards I made for her.

I used an image from a Lili of the Valley Art Pad and cut it with a Spellbinder die.  I then cut several shapes from coloured card for decoration.

I allowed the shapes to hang over the edge and then trimmed off the excess.

I'm quite happy with how this turned out and it took very little time.  Hope you like it.

Craft room update

Good morning all, hope you are having a good week. Today I thought I would show you the progress we are making on updating our craftroom.

The room isn't huge, about 12' by 10', but not small either, but with two of us occupying the space it was starting to feel really overcrowded and cluttered.

So we decided to have a little makeover, which turned into a not so little makeover, but we did resist the temptation to take down the wall and extend into the kitchen lol.

As you can see it was just sort of gathered together before, nothing matched and we just used what we had for desks and furniture.

And squeezed as much as we could into the space lol. But we decided it was time for a change so chose some plain white cabinets and a walnut block worktop.

New cabinets going in
We spent most of last weekend emptying the room, building and fitting new cabinets and then putting everything back in.

two new workspaces, one each ;o)
As you can see the main DIY work is completed, but not the organising of everything into their new homes.

Lovely big cabinets to house all of our goodies.
But it is amazing that by just changing the colour of the furniture, how much lighter and brighter the room feels.

shelves in desperate need of sorting!
We seriously need a sort out of some of the craft stuff, especially all those magazines that are just stored on top of the Ikea unit! But we will get there, a little at a time lol.

Thank goodness for Ikea cabinets, they hold loads.
And yes, we do have a Bigshot, and an Ebosser, and a Grand Calibur and a Cuttlebug!!!! lol, well we did combine two craftrooms into one lol.

Starting to take shape
It's still very much a work in progress, but we are enjoying seeing it take shape.

Oh - more cluttered shelves, but we do have the odd couple of soft toys to look at too :o))
Hope you have enjoyed this little tour of our room. We will update the pics once it's completed.

Take care and I'll see you soon.

All that glitters

Hello again crafty friends :)
I promise that these are the last wedding anniversary cards!!

This one is so simple, just 2 circle dies, an alphabet die, and some high gloss gold card.

I used a simple stamped sentiment and matted that with more of the gold.

For this one I used a piece of decorative paper and embossed a stamp with liquid platinum embossing powder.

I then used some gold peel-offs for the message at the bottom.

Two quick and easy cards, but very effective.

Anniversary

Good morning, hope you are all enjoying a nice long weekend. We have been super busy fitting new cabinets in the craftroom so no crafting has been done, but I'm hoping to get to some later today.

Today's card is the one I made for my hubby for our 14th wedding anniversary last week. I used paper and washi tape from the May Simon Says Stamp kit.

Then I used Sizzix scalloped hearts in 2 sizes and an MFT Stamps stripes coverup for some interest.

I used a small tag and a Mama Elephant stamp for the sentiment. I stamped it with Versamark ink and then heat embossed with white embossing powder.

I made the 'To My Husband' and 'Happy Anniversary' stamps up from different words in a Molly Moo set and stamped them with Jet Black Archival ink on to white card stock.

Then I finished it off with a couple of gold star brads and stuck it all to a 7 x 7 card blank.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Birthday memories

I don't have a card to share with you today.  Instead I want to show you a picture of me and Jen with our parents and brother. This was taken at my grand daughters christening, just a few months before Dad was taken ill.

Today would have been his 67th birthday, the second since his passing, and it still doesn't feel right that we can't share it with him.
We are going to have a family meal at his favourite restaurant and laugh and tell jokes at his expense, just like he would want.

So happy birthday Dad, you old fart.  We miss you tons and love you more.  Until we meet again xx

Craft Artist Frame

Good morning all, today's is a very quick and easy project.  Our cousin's little boy was one last week, so as well as I few gifts I made him this frame for his birthday.

The frame is an 8 x 8 deep box frame from The Range, and I used Craft Artist Software to produce an 8 x 8 scrapbook sheet.

I used the BFG (Big Friendly Giant) digikit for the background and the image in the corner. Then I used a letter from another kit for the 'S'. I made it really big and changed it to black so it would really stand out. Then I printed the page on to white card.

Then I used scrabble tiles for the rest of his name and stuck them down with Cosmic Shimmer glue.

A really quick and easy piece, but will still look lovely on his bedroom wall.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.
