Craft Artist Frame

Good morning all, today's is a very quick and easy project.  Our cousin's little boy was one last week, so as well as I few gifts I made him this frame for his birthday. 

The frame is an 8 x 8 deep box frame from The Range, and I used Craft Artist Software to produce an 8 x 8 scrapbook sheet.

I used the BFG (Big Friendly Giant) digikit for the background and the image in the corner. Then I used a letter from another kit for the 'S'. I made it really big and changed it to black so it would really stand out. Then I printed the page on to white card. 

Then I used scrabble tiles for the rest of his name and stuck them down with Cosmic Shimmer glue. 

A really quick and easy piece, but will still look lovely on his bedroom wall.

Upcycled place mats

Good morning all, hope you are well and enjoying a crafty weekend. Jude and I are off for a little crafty retail therapy today, just down to our local Hobbycraft and The Range. It's been a while since we went out shopping so we thought we would have a little 'look' today lol. 

Anyway today's project is a little bit of up-cycling. I had these old place mats that we have had forever and they have definitely seen better days. So someone suggested putting new pictures on them. 

I decided to try and do them for the grand kids, so I used my Craftartist software to design their names and then printed them out on to lightweight card. 

Once they were printed I ran them through my laminator to seal the pages.

Then I glued them on to the place mats with spray adhesive. 

Then Jude came up with the idea to decorate the edges with washi tape. 

So I gave her that job to do lol. 

Then I ran around the edge with a black marker pen to fill in any wear and tear. 

I ended up making 6, one each for our grandkids and one with all the family names on. They are now sat on my kitchen table ready for the next time the kids eat at ours. 

They have turned out really well, but I think when I do some more, I will look for a spray varnish and just put the card on and not laminate it. Then I might get a better seal around the edges.

70th Birthday Card

Good morning everyone, hope you are well. 

Today's card is one I have made for Mum's friend who is 70 tomorrow. She asked me to make a card and incorporate an old photograph in to it, so this is what I came up with. 

I used CraftArtist for the background and to add the photo and text. Then I printed in on to white linen card. 

The flowers are a mixture of paper ones and Tim Holtz Tattered Florals. They are held together with brads and I also added a silver flower to the large one. 

I used black card to frame the design and then used some black ribbon across the middle. 

Then I added hearts and gems and a die cut heart topped with a little wooden heart to finish it off. Mum likes it so lets hope Hazel does too.

Photos at last

Yay, Mr blogger has finally allowed me to add some photo's.

So this is the card I made for a chap at work last year. 

I did it on the Serif Craft Artist package and them printed it on to leather look card.

It gives the picture a bit of an aged look.

Before I gave it to him I attached a key ring I had made to go with it but I forgot to photograph that ! Lol

With Love

Good morning folks, it's Jen back again today. I'm holding the fort while Jude is on her sick bed! There are so many bugs around at the moment and between the family we seem to be getting them all. So yesterday was Jude's turn. Hopefully she will be feeling better today and will be back to blog again tomorrow.

 

Today's card is one made from my Serif Craft Software again. This time using a bird theme.

 

 

I made up the layout using different elements and then printed them on to good quality cardstock. I printed an extra copy so that I could decoupage a couple of the pieces to give the card some depth.

 

 

I then added it to an A5 card blank and added some flowers and ribbon from the stash.

 

 

 

I kept the sentiment very simple as I was using this as an anniversary card, but it could be used for lots of other occasions, just by changing the sentiment.
