Steampunk

Yesterday was Jen's daughter's 27th birthday.  It doesn't seem two minutes since Jen was waving me off on the train to London, without telling me she was in labour!  She knew I wouldn't have gone back to work if I'd known lol.

Happy birthday Kayleigh!

For my card I used a blank and matching card stock to highlight the teal blue in the image.   I coloured her with Copics ages ago but have only just got around to putting her on a card.

This is a La La Land Crafts image called Steampunk Marci.

The sentiment is from a My Favourite Things set called Happy Everything.

One stamp, one image and you have an easy card.  Hope you like it.

Paper Doll

Hello again and welcome to Tuesday.

I have another very simple card using a La La Land image to share with you today.

This is Paper Doll Marci - she's such a sweetie.  I coloured her entirely with Copics.  I'm really enjoying using these and I'm finding my colouring has improved greatly.

I didn't feel the image needed a lot of fuss, so I used one paper, some ribbon, a paper heart, a crochet flower and a ribbon flower.

P.S I've entered this into a challenge at http://papermakeupstamps.blogspot.co.uk

Mod Marci

Hello peeps.  Hope you've had a good weekend.

Last week Jen won a prize of $5 to spend at La La Land Crafts.  We didn't need any encouragement and ended up spending a bit more than $5 lol!

One of the digis we bought was Mod Marci, who we both loved.  When we saw they did it as a scene with her dog, we had to have it.  What do you think?

The picture is a bit harsh for some reason but you can see her better here.

I layered several papers and distressed them with scissors, before using Picked Raspberry Distress Ink on the edges.

I love the look of frantage but don't use it very often.  I saw a card recently which used some white and that inspired me to do the same on this one.  Mine is from Stampendous and is called Shabby Pink. It has hints of gold, which you can just make out - lush!

A card of mine usually has flowers and this one is no different, however I did add a couple of hat pins for a change.

So that's Mod Marci.  I can see this being used a lot!

Beret Marci

Good morning all and happy Saturday. Well I have finally made a card. 1st one in 10 days! I know just not like me at all. But even though the will to get crafty has returned, the old Mojo hasn't, so this card has been a bit of an effort lol.

The image is Beret Marci from La La Land Crafts. I do love these images, they are very cute.

I have coloured her with my Spectrum's and then cut her out by hand.

The papers are a mixture of a random piece from the stash combined with a piece of one of the Santoro 12 x 12 pieces. They really are too lovely to cut up but we are making ourselves use them more lol. Then I used a couple of different shades of teal/blue Coredinations card to sit Marci on.

I added the picket fence and lamp post, then the banner die in the corner all cut from DCWV self adhesive border strips.

Then I finished her off with one of the sentiments that comes with the La La Land digi stamps and a little blue pearl.

Hope you like it, see you soon.

Take care.

Happy Birthday K

Good morning everyone, hope you are well. Today is my daughter K's 26th birthday. (Gosh that makes me feel old lol). So happy birthday love, hope you have a great day xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

As we aren't seeing K until later, I can't share her birthday cards yet. So today's card is one I made for Jude's birthday a couple of weeks ago.

The image is Faerie Marci from La La Land Crafts. I coloured her with Spectrum Noirs and then cut her out and rounded the corners.

The papers are from the stash but I'm not sure what range they are from.

The stamp is one I have had for ages and this time I stamped it with Teal Stazon ink. Then I cut around the sentiment by hand and added it to the side of the card mounted on foam pads.

The I just finished it off with a few pink pearls.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Thursday 10th July - Homeward bound

Good morning all, well today sees our return home, and I'm quite sure that by now I will be itching to get home. I love going on holiday but when it's time to come home I just want to get there. And seen as how I've been without my hubby this time, I'm pretty sure I'll be very much looking forward to getting back lol.

Today's card is another that I made for Jude's birthday last week.

This one has the Awareness Ribbon Marci digi stamp by La La Land Crafts. I coloured her with Promarkers and cut her out by hand.

The papers are a mixture from the stash, matted with blue and pink card.

The little flowers are some that my son and his girlfriend got me from Thailand last year. I only use them very occasionally as I don't want to use them all up lol.

I stamped the sentiment with black Archival ink and matted it with more blue card. Then I added it to the card on a large foam pad and added a small paper clip to the top.

I finished the card with a little pink ribbon and a couple of enamel dots.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Faerie Marci

Hello everyone.  The eagle-eyed amongst you may have noticed that this is the 600th post on our little blog!  That's a lot of waffling on, isn't it?

So as it's such a momentous occasion you would think I have something extra special to share with you, wouldn't you?  Think again, lol ;)

I was stuck for a layout, so I used a sketch I like from I {heart} sketches.

Using this I made a card for a colleague who has just got a promotion and a new job.

I coloured the image with Promarkers and she turned out really well.

This is Faerie Marci from LaLa Land crafts.

This is a close up of the Dear Lizzy and 5th Avenue papers I used.

I added a simple bow and ribbon to the bottom to finish it off.

Hope you like it.  TTFN Jude xx
