As I mentioned last weekend, our parents celebrated 46 years of marital bliss(!) on New Year's Eve. I made them a card in my favourite style - soft, vintage and muted.
This is definitely the style I am most comfortable with but I do like to try other things. This card uses papers from the Grace Taylor Vintage Elegance scrapbook kit, a Kaisercraft rub on sentiment and feathers I bought from Hobbycraft - all of them new items purchased in the post Christmas sales - To Me Love Me xx
I'm entering this into 4 challenges:
1. Papertake Weekly Challenge - Anything Goes
2. Totally Gorjuss Challenge 164 - New
3. Simon Says Stamp Challenge - Something New
4. Sunday Stamper Week 238 - Every Day I Write The Book
Wish me luck. TTFN Jude x

Weekend challenges
One of my resolutions was to enter some of the challenges I see on various blogs. Jen entered her first earlier in the week so I thought I'd use this weekend to make a start on mine.
OK I thinks, lets start slowly with a really simple one - Less is More always have loads of really inspirational cards with lots of white space. Ha! doesn't scare me I says, I can do that - think again!! This was one of the hardest cards ever! After several hours of playing, thinking and playing some more, I eventually had a card I was happy with (not ecstatic, but content enough).
The theme is Drinks and this stamp is all I had that remotely fit - she's holding a wine glass lol.

I got the stamp free on a magazine (Creativity I think) and embossed it with sea foam white embossing powder on navy card stock. I cut the shape with a Spellbinders Labels 28 die, added "Party!" from the same stamp set in blue ink and a few bits of blue bling. This is about as minimal as I get at present but I'll persevere.
I'm going to try a few more challenges so I'll let you know how they turn out. TTFN, Jude x
Happy Friday everyone.....
Good morning,
What are you all up to today? It's tidying up and cleaning for me today :( I'm not looking forward to it, I would much rather spend the day in my craft room lol, but it's not to be. Someone has to do it, and the tree and decorations do need to come down and be packed away for next year. Hopefully once the house is done Ill be able to fit in some crafting time, fingers crossed.
I'm working on my first piece of altered art? I think that's what it's called anyway lol. To me it's just a plain chipboard tissue box which I'm trying to jazz up a bit! I don't have any pics yet as it's still a work in progress but as soon as it's finished Ill get some posted.
Now for today's card. A card for a little boy who loves Ben 10.

This one was very easy to make. I got the image on line, printed it out a few times, and then decoupaged it. I mounted it on to white card and layered it with a green sparkly card and then added it to an A5 card blank. A few stickers and a peel-off Happy Birthday were all it needed to finish it off.
I know he loved it, hope you like it too.
See you all tomorrow.
Thanks

A new year, a new flower....
on my orchid! I can't believe that after 3 years of no flowers at all it has finally come back to life lol
Isn't it lovely? I've had this plant in just about every position I could in my house to try and find somewhere it liked but nothing worked, until I moved it into the little bathroom! now together with my peace lily it is quite happy on the windowsill with a bit of dappled light and where no-one can ever see it lol. Oh well at least we get to see it and it is lovely, I am a bit of a lover of orchids.
Anyway for today's cards I thought I'd show you the parents anniversary cards that I couldn't show before.
They both really liked them, and the pressies lol and had a lovely day.
Hope your days are good ones.
See you tomorrow
Thanks

Bee happy....
Good morning all,
How are you all today? I hope you have all recovered from the New Years Eve celebrations and the New Years Day over-eating lol. I'm getting there I think! Now I'm itching to get the tree and decorations down and give the house a good clean again (well, aren't my dreams exciting????) but you know what I mean, it won't feel right now until they come down and the house can get back to normal again.
I have made a start on the study/craft room/cats den, tidied away all the Christmas stash and made a bit of room for the new goodies lol. I do like it when everything is in it's place, but as you all know it doesn't stay that way for long!
I picked something nice and bright for today's card, I know it's a bit early to be thinking about spring, but this card does make me think of it.
This was one I made for Jude last year for her birthday, It was one of my attempts at adding handwriting to a card. I'm not very good at writing, never had the patience for neatness lol, Jude is the one that got the nice handwriting from Dad out of the three of us, mine and my brothers are a bit like spiders have been crawling across the page with pens lol. But this one wasn't too bad, and I do love the little bee die (although I think it looks more like a wasp lol).
Anyway that's all from me today, hope you are up to something crafty.
I would like to enter this in to the http://papertakeweekly.blogspot.co.uk/ challenge, Anything Goes.
See you tomorrow
Thanks

Happy New Year 2013
Good morning all and happy new year. I hope you all had a good time last night and managed to see the new year in with friends and loved ones. I don't know about you but I can't believe it's a new year already! I know I'm getting old but they do seem to flash by now lol.
Today I thought I'd show you a couple of the pieces of jewellery I've made lately.
The first one is a ring for me, It was just an experiment to see what it would end up like but I really like it.
The second one is a set I made for Jude, A matching earrings, necklace and bracelet all in her favourite colour, purple. None of the pieces I have made are very fancy but I do enjoy making them, and the gifts have been well received so far lol.
Anyway hope you all have a good day and a brilliant start to 2013.
See you tomorrow

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
That's all I wanted to say really. I shall be spending the evening with 14 of my family to see in 2013, and then January 1st will be a quiet day at home cleaning the pit I call a house and hopefully playing in the cave.
I hope 2013 brings you the very best of health and happiness!
