To someone special

Good morning folks, another weekend is here, do you have any crafty plans? I aim to spend as much time in the craft room as possible this weekend to try and catch up a bit. But we'll have to see how that goes lol.

Today's card is a quick make using some bits of card and paper from my scrap box.

I punched out 12 hearts using a Woodware small punch and then arranged them in three rows on a 6 x 6 card blank.

I raised all of the hearts on foam pads and backed them with white and pink card.

Then I used a stamp from a Molly Moo set for the sentiment and inked it with Elderberry Memento dye ink.

A really quick and simple card, but still cute. Hope you like it. Take care and I'll see you soon.

Bird-day 2

Hello again.

Today I wanted to show you a different take on the Bird Day card I shared on Sunday.

This is obviously the same layout, just a different colour way.

This time though I have used an 8 x 8 card blank and layered bright papers underneath the image.

I thought this would be suitable for younger girls birthday.  What do you think?

That's all for today.  Short and sweet!

I Ruff You

Good morning all, hope you are having a good week.

Today's card is made using a new Lawn Fawn stamp and die set. I fell in love with these little fellas when we were at the Ross Papercraft show a couple of weeks ago. So they had to come home with us lol.

They are called 'Critters at the dog park' stamp set and coordinating dies.

I love this sentiment stamp lol.

I used 2 of the dogs for the front cut from plain Kraft card,

and then two more for the inside, but this time I used a patterned paper.

The papers are from a new 6 x 6 pad called 'Suits You Sir', by Craftwork Cards.

This was again another purchase from the papercraft show, as I think we struggle when it comes to papers for male cards, but these are fun and lovely colours.

I finished this little duo off with a couple of diamante collars made from tiny gems.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

New Home

My daughter and her husband are due to move in to their new house in the next few weeks.  Consequently I need to get some new home cards made.

This is the first using this weeks Mojo Monday sketch.

I followed it pretty faithfully and I think it works really well with this image.

The stamp was one of the free ones with issue 22 of Creative Stamping.

The sentiment is from a Lili if the Valley pad we've had for ages.  I cut it with a 1.5 in circle punch and used a 1.75 in punch for the backing.

These are new EK Success punches and they are fabulous!

So that's one off the list.  Hope you like it.

Big books

Good morning all, hope you are well and having a good week. I have eventually made a card after about a week. With being under the weather last week and then away over the weekend, it seems like ages ago since I last got a bit crafty.

So when I got home from work last night I decided to get straight on with something and make a simple card.

I remembered this stamp set from a recent Simon Says Stamp kit and thought that would make a nice easy card.

Well I think it turned out nice but it wasn't exactly quick and easy lol.

Once I had got the shelves stamped with black Archival ink, I then had to stamp all the books and boxes separately, to line them up on the shelves and get some colour change in.

So in the end, with keep changing little stamps, and then heat embossing them all, the card took me about an hour lol.

But I do like it and I'm glad I persevered as I love the little pop of green from the plant.

I used a sentiment from the same set and then a couple of strips of washi tape across the bottom to finish it off. Then I backed it with brown and deep red card and put it all on a 7 x 5 card blank.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Merry Christmas?!

Monday again and no I haven't gone mad, I do know it's February ;)

After Christmas I resolved to never be making cards at the last minute again.  That hasn't gone too well so far but I am going to try to remember to make a few of this year's Christmas cards each month.  I don't know how long it will last but every one I do make is one less to do in December lol.
This is the first!

This is a Jade Dragonne image called Winter and is available from Deviant Art (here)

I used papers from a free set that came with Crafts Beautiful magazine back in 2012!  These were all matted on dark green card and added to a 6 x 6 card blank.

I have loads of cards to make between now and December, but it's a start, right?

Bird-day card

Happy  February everyone.  I hope you are having a peaceful Sunday.

The eagle-eyed amongst you may have noticed that Jen blogged the last 2 days.  There was a VERY good reason for that - I was being lazy! LOL!
Anyway Jen is away for the weekend so wouldn't have time to do anything new for tomorrow so I will be doing that one to pay her back.

With Jen being away I have been left in the craft room unsupervised :0  I have free rein to do what ever I want, so what have I done?  Browsed Pinterest looking for wedding card ideas and bought new digi stamps from Digi Stamp Boutique:)  I then used said stamps to make this very simple card.

What do you think??

I coloured the birdies quite simply without too much shading as I wanted to keep the crispness of the image.

I think it works.  How about you?

I'll see you again tomorrow.  TTFN Jude xx
