Cheers

Good morning all, Friday at last, and today is our last day of blogging, for now anyway. We will still continue to follow the blogs we love, and still use Pinterest to share our cards, and for lots of crafty ideas. You can follow us here: pinterest

Today is my son's 28th birthday, and as he is partial to the odd glass of a well known stout, as we all are!!! I thought I would make him this card.

The idea came from the little Toucan included in the June 2019 My Monthly Hero Kit, from Hero Arts. As soon as I saw him, I remembered the Guinness adverts with the toucan, so decided to give it a go.

I stamped him with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and then coloured him with Copic markers, then I cut him out with his matching die.

For the glass, I used one of the coffee cups from the August 2018 Hero Arts Kit, I cut this from black card, and then again from white card, then cut the white one down to just sit at the top of the glass.

I wrote my sentiment on the laptop, and printed a harp image using the Laser jet printer, then foiled them with the Minc Machine and Rose Gold Foil. I cut the sentiment with an MFT Fishtail Banner Die, and added the rest of the sentiment in black card using M & C Boutique Alphabet Dies.

I hope you like it, take care and have a great weekend.

Flamingo sunset

Hello and welcome.
My card today uses another image from the June My Monthly Hero kit.

I don't know what it is about flamingos but they make me smile! When I saw this image in the kit I knew I wanted to make something with it.

I stamped, coloured and cut two flamingos.  To be honest these are my second attempt as I tried to watercolour the first ones and they did not turn out nicely at all!!

I masked a strip across the centre of my card panel and added a circle die cut with temporary adhesive.  I then blended a sunset using wild honey. fired brick and wilted violet distress oxide inks.

I glued my two flamingos to the panel and added a sentiment before adhering the whole piece to a standard size card base.
Hope you like it. TTFN Jude xx

Dainty Bouquet - Amazing Day

Good morning all, and happy hump day, I hope you are having a great week so far. Today's card is one I made for mum's birthday, using the Dainty Bouquet stamp set from Altenew.

I loved this set as soon as I saw it, so just had to have it lol, I also loved the examples that they give in the guide that comes with the set, so I tried my best to copy one of them for this card.

I used Altenew Crisp Dye Inks in the following colours, Morning Frost, Coral Berry, Ruby Red, Volcano Lake and Emerald.

I layered the images as per the instructions which makes it so easy to follow, then I cut my panel down to fit an A2 card base using an MFT Stamps Stitched Rectangle die.

I used a sentiment from another Altenew set, and stamped this with Jet Black ink, then I added a few pink and clear gems which came with a Simon Says Stamp kit last year, before popping it on to a pink card base.

I hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Stay wild

Hello and thank you for joining us.

This weekend I have been playing with the June My Monthly Hero kit, which has lots of jungle themed images.
I love this little monkey and had to make something with him.

I stamped, coloured and die cut the image along with a tree branch for him to sit on.
For the background I used the stencil from the kit and applied some wild honey distress oxide with a brush.

I used a square die to cut the background and added a yellow border.  I then glued the branch and monkey across the square panel.

To finish off I added a sentiment from the kit and attached the panel to a 4x4 card base.
Hope you like it.

Happy Birthday Sunshine

Good morning crafty friends, I hope you have had a good weekend.

Jude and I have made the decision to stop blogging as of this Friday the 28th June 2019. To be honest it's been more of a chore than a pleasure this year, so as hard as it is to say goodbye after almost seven years, we will give it a rest and hopefully will feel like coming back to it at a later date. I hope you understand xxx.

Today's card is one I made for my granddaughter's birthday last week. This one uses the Sunny Days set from Clearly Besotted, stamped with Altenew inks from the Pocketful of Sunshine and Tropical Forest sets.

I used an MFT Stamps Horizontal Stripes background die, and cut this from a white linen card, then I used various ink sprays to splatter a random pattern over it.

I placed my inked piece over a plain white piece of card and then stamped a simple Happy Birthday into one of the spaces.

I added my sunflower and leaves to the front, and then added in a white leaf branch from an M & Co Boutique die set. Then to finish it off I die cut the word Sunshine 3 times from gold card, using a Simon Says Stamp die, I stacked these together for dimension and then stamped a smiley face onto my sunflower.

Hope you like it and thank you for stopping by today.

Take care and I'll see you soon.

Pandamonium

Welcome back.

Today I have another card made for Charlotte's fourth birthday.
This card uses images from the Pandamonium set by Mama Elephant.

I stamped and cut out several of the pandas which I added to the windows in my card panel.  I added several of the sentiments in the set, along with the two heart stamps.

Behind each window I inked a piece of white card with Distress Oxide inks and added some Nuvo Aqua Shimmer glimmer gloss.

I added the panel to a lime green card base and finished off with some Nuvo jewel drops in strawberry coulis, limoncello and key lime.

Hope you like it as much as I do.

Love you more than Ice Cream

Good morning all, I hope you are having a good week and are looking forward to a crafty weekend.

Today's card is one I made for my eldest granddaughter's 11th birthday last Friday. I used an older Simon Says Stamp set called Ice Cream Dream, and even dug out some coordinating paper from the stash!!!

I apologise for the shadows on the pictures, but we had awful rain here all last week, and so the natural 'daylight' was a bit sparse, so I had to take some photo's with artificial lighting, and they never look as good. I was trying to capture the shine and glitter on the lollipops and ice-cream but it kept leaving a shadow from my phone lol.

Anyway, I stamped one of the sentiments from the set onto plain white card, then I stamped the ice cream cone right above it using Versafine Onyx Black ink, and heat embossed them with clear embossing powder. I stamped the lollipops using the same method on another piece of card and then coloured them all with Nuvo Alcohol Pens, and cut the lollipops out by hand.

I cut the main image and sentiment using an Shaped Tag MFT Die from Blueprints 13 Dienamics dies, and added this to a pink note card using the patterned paper as a mat.

I added the lollipops using tiny foam strips, then covered them and the cone with Nuvo Crystal Glaze, and dropped a bit of Plasma Purple Pure Sheen Glitter along with a little Rock Candy Distress Glitter on to the top of the ice cream.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

The birthday chick

Hello and welcome.

Tomorrow my youngest granddaughter, Charlotte Rose, will be four years old.  This is one of the cards I have made for her.

I used the fabulous birthday chicks from My Favourite Things.  I love these little birdies.

I stamped, coloured and cut out all the images in the set, then chose several to add to my card.

For a bit of interest I added a frame to surround the sentiment, and placed my chicks around it.

I love the fun colours and playful imagery.  Hope you do too.

Alcohol Ink Background

Good morning all, I hope you have had a great weekend and are having a good week so far. Today's card is one I made for mum's birthday last week.

I blended different shades of blue Alcohol Pearl Inks on to Yupo paper, and before it was completely dry, I pressed gold foil randomly over it, and just let it stick where it wanted.

I cut a panel of white card with an MFT Stitched Rectangle die to fit an A2 card base, and then I used a large circle die to cut a window in the front.

I placed my Yupo paper behind the aperture and then cut a few leaves and berry stems from plain white card, using M & C Boutiques dies.

I arranged the stems behind the window and then glued them into place before snipping off the ends. I also added a die-cut Mum sentiment using a Cut and Make die and the same white card.

Then I heat embossed a simple Happy Birthday Sentiment with Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder, and added this to the front using foam tape, before I added it all to a plain blue note card.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Beautiful fussy cut florals

Hello again.
My card today is very easy to make but not quick.

I took one of the fabulous papers from the last Simon Says Stamp monthly card kit, and fussy cut the images from it.

I got 6 partial images and one full. I arranged these to create 2 large bouquets on the top and bottom of my card base.

I had to sacrifice a few leaves and berries to get the images to fit together, but I think it was worth it.

I added a birthday sentiment, also from SSS, to finish off.
