Special Aunty

Good morning, I hope you have all had a lovely weekend. We celebrated my daughter's birthday yesterday, with a BBQ for family and friends, and had a really lovely day in the sunshine.

Today's card is a bit of a change for me, I used a ready made topper, something I haven't used for quite some time. But as we have boxes of them, I thought I really should try and make at least one card with them lol.

This sweet little image is from a Forever Friends range, and it was on a sheet along with all the little extras. So I decided to use these and keep the rest of the card very simple.

I wrote the sentiment on the PC and printed it on to linen card using the Laser printer. Then I ran it through the Minc machine with some silver Deco Foil.

I decided to use a 7 x 5 card blank for a change, so I cut the linen card to size and then added a piece of smooth silver glitter card over the top half, for the topper to sit on.

Then to finish it off I added a strip of grey lace and some tiny pearl brooch sliders across the middle.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Happy 30th Birthday

Good morning folks, I hope you are having a good start to the week.  Today's card is one I made a couple of weeks ago when it was my daughter-in-law's 30th Birthday.

I took inspiration from a card I saw on Pinterest but then changed it to fit with the supplies I had. I love this dark blue/grey shimmery card. No idea where it came from or how long we've had it, but there was just a piece laying around in one of the scrap card boxes, that was big enough for what I needed.

I wrote the sentiments on the PC and printed them on the laser printer. Then I ran them through my Minc machine using some Platinum foil. I do like to do this every now and again, as I think the foil gives a really professional finish to a simple card.

I used a white linen card for the background and then found an odd piece of a dark blue linen ribbon for the centre. Then started the hunt for the brooch slide! I knew I had one left somewhere, but could I find it??? erm no, I had that craft room upside down looking for it.

Eventually Jude came home and started helping, then just when we thought that we had both covered every single hiding place possible, did she find it in a really logical place. With the bows of course 😲😕. Yep with the bows, not with the ribbon, or twine, or charms, or any of the other 300 places that I'd thought to look, but with the bows. I really do wonder sometimes about my 'logical' brain. Lol 😜

Anyway, after all that, I fixed the brooch slider in place and backed the panel with some silver card and then added it all to a 6 x 6 card blank.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

30th Birthday Girl

Good morning all and Happy Thursday. Hope you are all well and having a good week.

Today's card is one I made for a friend of my son and daughter-in-law, who turned 30 a couple of weeks ago. I wanted something girly but grown-up, so I dug through our stamp selection and came up with this very old stamp that we got free in a magazine.

I coloured her with Copic markers and then mounted her on to some gold and black card. I used a corner chomper to round off all the corners.

I made the rosette using three different sizes of round punch, and then added a 30 to the centre cut from MFT Bright Light Number dies. Then I used a couple of pieces of ribbon and stuck them together, then stuck them to the back of the circles.

The Happy and Birthday dies are from Frantic Stamper and are the Happy Birthday Layer Makers.

I added a little message to the inside using a Simon Says Stamp set called Happy and Smile.

Then I finished it off with some sparkly sequins and stars.

Because the girls were having a weekend away to celebrate, Staci asked me to make some stickers for champagne flutes for the train. So I used Safmat, and printed out these with the girls names on, then cut them out with oval dies.

Then as a little gift for the birthday girl, I made her a badge using a wooden heart, a brooch back, Safmat and a gold pen.

Hope you like them all, thanks for stopping by, take care and I'll see you soon.
