Oriental flavour

Hello again.  I'm back to making but don't seem to have much enthusiasm!  I must still be in holiday mode lol.

The design for this card came from a sketch I found on Pinterest by freshlymadesketches.blogspot.com

My interpretation of the above sketch.  What do you think?

I had some Oriental feel papers in my stash and really liked the colours, so they became the basis of my colour scheme.  The papers are from the Bo Bunny Serenity collection.

I used a stamp and die set we've had for a while and coloured the flowers with Distress Markers.  I layered them over a vine swirl cut from another of the matching papers.

I added a button and twine as per the sketch.

The sentiment stamp came from a set on one of the last Get Stamping magazines.  I was quite disappointed when the magazine was closed as I really enjoyed the free stamps and different techniques in each issue.

That's all from me.  TTFN Jude xx

Running Tilda

Hello bloggers, are you having a good week?

Jen and I have been playing with some Tilda Magnolia stamps she bought a few weeks ago.  She went a bit mad and bought 9 in a few days!! This one is Running Tilda.

After colouring I thought that she needed a bit more interest so I used the Cherry Blossom stamp from the last Get Stamping magazine with Distress Markers.  I think it worked really well.

The background paper is from the Fairy Belle collection.  The picket fence is a die Jen has had for ages but this is the first time I've used it.

I love this sentiment stamp!  It also came with the Get Stamping magazine.

That's all for me.  Speak soon!  TTFN Jude xx

Cuddle

Morning all.  Thankfully it is Friday and after work I can put my feet up for a while.  I hope ;)  Although as it is less that 5 weeks to Christmas I may have to do some shopping instead!

Todays card is inspired by one of the ideas in Get Stamping issue 05.  The free stamps which come with the magazine have been used for quite a few cards lately, in particular Jen's chalet card.

This one uses the words stamp as the centre piece.  The words were stamped in Aged Mahogany distress ink onto a small piece of white stamping card and the edges inked with the same colour.
The words were then layered on to a piece of pre-embossed card which I sanded to reveal a little of the core.
Once these were added to the 9 x 10.5cm the whole thing was wrapped with a deep red twine.  I then used a red/brown cabochon that Jen had made in the melt pot to finish it off.
This is a card that could be reproduced in bulk quite quickly.  We are debating taking a stall at the local village Christmas Fete, so cards like this would be easy to make en masse.
Enjoy your weekend.  TTFN Jude xx

Snow is falling......

all around..... are you singing yet???? Lol, Good morning all, hope you are well today, and the snow is only on the card thank goodness, we haven't got any of the real stuff just yet.

Anyway, today's card is one I have made following a card layout in this months Get Stamping magazine. I loved how they have combined the different stamps together to make a scene, so did one with my own take on it.

I started by stamping the background and trees and then stamped the cottage on to a piece of separate card.

I coloured the cottage with pencils for a change and I really like the softness to the colours.

I added the cottage raised up with foam tape and then put the whole scene inside a blue ready made frame card.

To finish I added drops of snow flake and then heat embossed them and then added the sentiment printed using the Dymo.

Hope you like it. Thanks for stopping by again.

Take care
