Dainty bouquet

Welcome!  Today is my Mum's birthday and this is the card I made her.

Happy 71st birthday Mum xx

I again used the Dainty Bouquet set from Altenew.  I hope you aren't sick of seeing this yet, lol.

This time I stamped the base layer in unicorn white ink on to purple card stock.  This gave me a base to add the shades of purple inks from Altenew, over the top.  For the leaves I used the green fields set.

I love how this looks against the dark card.

For the sentiment I took a strip of matching card and added my greeting.  I then fussy cut around the leaves so that my sentiment strip would tuck in under them.

For a finishing touch I added the panel to a white card base and scattered Nuvo dream drops in supernova across the design.

Spot the dog

Good morning all, I hope you are having a good week so far.

Today's card is another that I made for my granddaughter's birthday last week, this time using a Spot the Dog Stamp Set called Hello Spot. This set came free with Issue 68 of Creative Stamping Magazine.

I arranged the images and sentiment on to plain white card, and then stamped them using Versafine Onyx Black ink, and then heat embossed them with clear embossing powder.

I coloured the images with Copic and Spectrum Noir markers, and then covered them with a ton of Aqua Shimmer Glitter Gloss Pen from Nuvo. Apologies for the awful picture, but I was trying to capture just how sparkly this shimmer pen is lol. 

Then I used an Avery Elle Wonky Stitched Ellements die to cut the panel to size, and added it to a lilac shimmer note card to finish.

Arts and Crafts Cards

Good morning crafty friends, I hope you have had a great weekend. We haven't been up to much this weekend, but we have a busy couple of weeks ahead with birthdays lol.

Today's cards are a couple that I made from the Hero Arts, My Monthly Hero Kit, for May 2019. It features lots of different crafty images, sentiments and coordinating dies, and while I was making the yellow version for my granddaughter's 7th birthday last week, I decided to make another version and keep it for later on in the year for my niece.

I arranged the different stamps around one of the sentiments using the Misti stamping tool. Then I stamped them with Onyx Black Versafine Ink, and heat embossed them with clear embossing powder.

I coloured the images with Copic markers, and then cut the panels to fit A2 size cards by using an Avery Elle Wonky Stitched Ellements die for the yellow version and an MFT Stitched Rectangle die for the red one.

Then I added one to a yellow note card and one to a red note card, and voila all finished. 

I really must do this more often, make more than one card at once, as it really doesn't take that much longer once you have the idea and set-up.

Grey silhouette

Hi folks.

I have a really quick and simple card for you today.

I used the Dainty Bouquet set (again) and stamped a background using industrial diamond ink, both from Altenew.

I used the MISTI to make sure I got good impressions on the card panel - multi stamping when necessary.

I then cut this panel down to fit a silver grey card base. 

I used a strip of matching card to create a banner and white heat embossed a simple sentiment.

I think this is a really versatile stamp set and I love how it looks stamped with just the base layer.

Always be yourself

Hello again.

Today's card is another made for Izzy's 7th birthday last week.

For this underwater scene I combined two sets from Simon Says Stamp and Hero Arts.

For the background I blended stormy sky and tumbled glass distress oxides on to smooth white card. I then used stormy sky to stamp the background silhouettes.

I used Copic markers to colour the mermaid, added loads of Nuvo aqua shimmer pen, then fussy cut her leaving a thin white border.

The rocks and foliage were stamped using a selection of Wendy Vecchi blendable dye inks.  These stamped really well over the distress ink.

I cut my panel down and added it to a white card base.  I used a simple sentiment and then inside stamped, "Always be yourself, unless you can be a mermaid."

Birthday Numbers

 Good morning all, I hope you are having a good week so far.

Today's card was made for my niece's husband's 30th birthday a couple of weeks ago. I started by cutting the Happy Birthday Circle Die from Simon Says Stamp from plain white card. I used three die-cuts and stacked them together for dimension.

Then I used Copic and Nuvo Alcohol Markers to colour the  letters in different shades of blue and beige.

For the background I used stamps from a Lawn Fawn set called Owen's ABC's , and stamped these with some of the paler shades from Altenew's Crisp Dye Ink Collection.

Then I stamped a large number 30 on to a circle of white card, using a Creative Stamping Stamp Set and heat embossed in with navy blue embossing powder.

Then I added it all to a bright blue note card.

Flower Silhouette

Hello friends. I'm back with another silhouette card, again using the Altenew Dainty Bouquet set.

I masked off an area using post-it tape and used distress oxides to blend the panel.  The colours are worn lipstick, tea dye, tattered rose.

I stamped the rose image using Versafine onyx black ink.  Although this is an excellent ink, I did have to stamp several times.  I'm very thankful for the MISTI to be able to do this.

I added a generic sentiment from the stash then trimmed the panel down.

I added a black matt before adhering to a white card base.

I love the classy look of this card.  Hope you do too.
