Upcycled pot...

Good morning all, yes I have been very ambitious and changed a plain old roasted nuts tub in to a shabby chic masterpiece! ROFL hahaha....

OK then I have decorated it to sit on my desk and hold little bits of stash. lol. But I do think it looks very pretty :o))

Like I said it's an empty tub that held honey roast nuts, from a well known nut manufacturer, but I'm sure others do them too lol. I used my cosmic shimmer to stick paper all around it. As I used 6x6 sheets it took 3 of them but that's just because I liked that paper.  This is part of the Botanical collection, it came free with a mag sometime last year.

I added a matching tag from the same range and then decorated the tub with some flowers that I had cut on my silhouette.  The little butterfly is just punched from paper but then I used my new melt pot to give it a thick embossing glaze. I love it lol.

I covered the top of the lid with the same paper and then added more flowers and a couple of leaves that I also dipped in the melt pot.

I really like how it turned out. I finished it by just adding a touch of treasure gold around the top and bottom edges to take away a bit of the silver shine.

Hope you like it, that's all from me today. Thanks for stopping by. See you soon

Male birthday card...

Good morning everyone, hope you are all well today.

I thought I'd show you another male birthday card that I made today. It's a really simple one too.
I started with a plain A5 card blank in a nice soft gold colour, and then embossed a piece of white card to fit just leaving a narrow edge.

Next I stamped randomly all over the card with a fancy flourish stamp and a 'Happy Birthday' stamp using a couple of different colours of distress inks.

The toppers are from Kanban and I just matted them with two different shades of brown Core-dinations cardstock. One cut with a labels tag and the other with wavy rectangles.

I inked the edges of everything using Gathered Twigs distress ink and then added a sentiment by stamping the 'Happy Birthday' stamp in clear medium and then embossing with copper embossing powder.

A few metallic pearls here and there finished it off nicely.

I thought it looked masculine without being too plain. What do you think?

Anyways that's all from me today, thanks ever so much for stopping by, see you soon.

Card with 1st ATC....

Good morning everyone, hope you have all had a nice and crafty weekend. What's the weather like for you? we've had snow again! in March??? with more tipped for this week. Can't remember the last time we had snow during March ;-] think the weather app has gone a bit mad lol.

Today's offering is a card I made for Jude for Mother's day from her youngest son Joe. So not a typical girly card, but one I thought she would like.

I started with the cream A5 card blank and stamped a script stamp all over it using Brushed Corduroy distress ink. I then aged down the card with Old Paper DI. I added a doily and used the same ink to age this a bit.

I just had the one small sheet of the bright orange Core-dinations card, so I ran it through a butterfly embossing folder and sanded the top back. Then I cut a frame from some brown card and the smaller version for the sentiment. This card is already embossed so I sanded that back a bit too. I stamped the sentiment using black Archival ink. This is one of my favourite stamps.

I then added some flowers cut from the same card and stamped a few little birds, here and there.

Next I made the ATC and the matching little envelope. I started with a blank Kraft ATC and covered it with a piece of book page from an old Atlas. This one had a pic of Westminster Abbey on it, and as Jude lived in London for a few years prior to children, I knew she would approve of the image lol. I then ran it through a diamond embossing folder.

Next I used the scraped paint technique with sand and vermilion acrylic paints. Once dry I added a smidge of gold acrylic here and there and then spritzed it with Mango Blush Cosmic Shimmer spray.

I used part of a brass stencil for the little bird, and using a palette knife I scraped Eisen Ferro through it. I heat set it to speed things up and then gave him a covering of Treasure Gold.

I had the little bird cage in my jewellery stash and thought it would finish the piece nicely. I just attached it with a little star brad and then added Mum using my tiny alphabet punches. Then put this into the little envelope to finish the card.

What do you think?

Anyway that's all from me today, thanks for stopping by, see you soon.

New beads...

Good morning all, hope you are all well today.

I'm blogging again as the fool that is my sister has had a bit of an accident ! She only went and fell and has damaged her Achilles, so is now hobbling about on crutches, when she has strict instructions from the hospital to stay off the foot for 48 hours! What's she like? I think she'll do anything to get out of housework lol :o))

So today I have a bit more of the new jewellery for you.

Some nice brown shades for me :-)

Oh and a little orange number for me too lol

And then some more of the black, white and silver, this time for Mum.

Hope you like them, that's all from me today. Thanks for stopping by.

See you soon

Happy Birthday....

Good morning all, and a very happy birthday to my stepson Chris :o)) Whatever you do today hope you enjoy it.

So today I thought I would show some of the cards I made for Chris. This first one is from me and his dad. I started with the blank A5 card  and added a piece of paper from the Docrafts Chronology range, matted on to green cardstock.

Next I stamped one of the matching stamps on to white card stock using cocoa brown memento ink. I added a couple of the toppers from the Chronology set too, all matted on to the green cardstock.

To finish it, I added 3D gloss to some of the clock faces and added son to the smallest topper.

This next one is dead simple. A cut out image and a computer made sentiment on to a blank 5x7 cream card.

With a little bit of coloured washi tape down the edge.

It's really simple but still a nice fun card.

Anyways that's all from me today, I'm full of cold so it's a perfect excuse to stay nice and cosy warm in the craft room and play :o))

Thanks for stopping by.

See you soon

TGI Friday

Hello and welcome to Friday lol!

I've been a bit sickly this week so haven't done any cards but I have done a watercolour piece. I was thinking of doing this style on a canvas so wanted to try out the idea first.

This is a piece of watercolour paper and I've used acrylics to paint some simple flowers. The white centres and veins are a Sakura gel pen.
The idea was good in my head but not sure it has translated well on to paper. What do you think?

I don't think this will end up on canvas after all but I'll let it live in the craft cave for a while and see if it grows on me.
Well that's all I have today so TTFN Jude x

A little bit girly...

Good morning all, yes today's card is definitely a little bit girly. Well quite a lot girly actually!

I made this for a friends mum for mothers day, I thoroughly enjoyed making it and I know she loved it :-))

I started with an A5 card blank and covered it with a piece of patterned Hunky Dory Adorable Scorable card stock.

Next I added a layer of a subtle gold pearl card. Then 2 paper doilies. The journal paper and sentiment are from the Vintage Notes collection from Docrafts. I really like these, very vintage.

The dress form is a Kanban topper as are the die cut flowers, I just loved all the colours. I think they all work really well together.

Then next came the bracelet. I knew I wanted to make something to go on the card, and I was going to make a bag charm and clip it on. But once I got the beads out I just couldn't resist this pretty little pink and pearl number.

I secured it to the card just using a few glue dots, so it was easy to remove when the card was given.

And what card and gift would be complete without a pretty matching box lol.

Anyway that's all today, thanks for stopping by.

See you soon
