Charlotte Rose

Yesterday was my youngest granddaughter's christening.  

This is her in her beautiful dress before the ceremony.  

She was very well behaved and didn't cry at all during the service.

For her christening card I made a very simple white on white card with a silver charm. I used 2 different papers and embossed the linen centre layer. 

I used the Concorde & 9th Sophisticated Script stamp set to add her name.

I found a verse I really liked on Pinterest and decided to print it for the inside of the card.

Reflection die cut

Good morning all, I hope you have had a good week. We are celebrating a birthday a Christening and an Anniversary in the next few days, so It's going to be a busy weekend lol.

I needed another male card a few weeks ago so while looking for inspiration I found this card on Pinterest. I really liked the colours and the use of the large word so I set about to make something along those lines, only I don't really do CAS so mine is much fussier !

I used some dark grey card for the background and then cut the MFT Skyline from a pale silver card and the background die from black card. I had to cut the background one back to front so that I could use it as a mirror image. 

I then die cut the Birthday die from the Happy Birthday Layer Makers by Frantic Stamper, and covered it with Versamark ink and heat embossed it with Ranger Fine Detail Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder.

I placed this across the middle of the panel and then went over the black silhouette with a Clear Wink of Stella pen, to give it some shimmer.

To finish the card off I stamped a Happy sentiment from a Simon Says Stamp set and added some clear Gems and sequin stars.

Sunshine

Hello again.  The weather may not be brilliant but at least my card is sunny :)

I wanted a small but bright card for my granddaughters to send to their uncle next week.  This is just 4 x 4 and fits the bill nicely.

I used a stamp from Simon Says Stamp for the sun and coloured it with Copic markers.  The sentiment is by My Favorite Things.  Both were stamped in black and clear heat embossed.

I cut a mask for the sun and inked over with Caribbean Blue and Persian Sky from Altenew.

I added a bright yellow matt to a navy blue card base to tie it all together.

The finishing touch was a few yellow enamel dots.  What do you think?

Dahlia blossoms

Good morning all, and happy Hump day. I hope you are all having a good week. It's my short work week this week so I'm now off for the rest of the week, but I have lots of baking to do before a family Christening on Sunday. 

Today's card was one I made for a friend of mum's. She wanted one to send from the line dancing group that her friend runs, so I thought this sentiment was appropriate.

I used the Altenew Dahlia Blossoms set and Altenew Crisp Dye inks. I started by stamping a background using the bud stamp from the set. I stamped it randomly on a piece of white card using Blush ink.

Then I stamped up three of the larger flowers using Blush, Rouge, Velvet and Crimson inks and cut them out with their matching dies.

For the leaves I used Memento Dew Drop inks in Pistachio and Olive grove and then cut them out too.

I arranged the flowers to one side of the background panel and raised two of them with foam pads, then I arranged the leaves around them.

I used a sentiment from the Altenew set called Sentiments and Quotes. I inked it with Versamark ink onto a piece of Vellum and then heat embossed it with Simon Says Stamp, Rose Gold embossing powder. Then I cut it out with an MFT Stitched Banner Die.

Dots and spots

Hello and thank you for visiting today.

The card I have to share is a very simple design but very effective.  This idea was copied from Yana Smakula using the Simon Says Stamp September 2016 Card Kit – Scratch Off Cards.  I haven't used a scratch off on mine but they are really useful for making interactive cards, especially for youngsters.

Depending on the colours used this card is suitable for men or women, young or old.  It is so versatile.

I used Caribbean Sky ink from Altenew; double stamping some circles and leaving others as single for the texture.

The sentiment stamp from the set is a great size to be the focal element of the card.  To add interest I hand drew the letters in a teal blue ink.  This is a Koi colouring brush pen in veridian.

I then added some dots using the lovely Nuvo crystal drops in silver moonlight.  These add some sparkle and interest to an otherwise single layer card.

Fishing friends

Good morning all, I hope you have had a good weekend. We had a lovely wet walk along a bit of the Trans Pennine Trail on Saturday with my son and the dogs. It wasn't raining when we left but the heavens opened as we set off, luckily we had jackets with us and the dogs really don't mind the rain lol.

Anyway, today's card is one I made for a friend of my son's who's birthday was at the end of August. Col loves to fish, so I dug out this old but never before used stamp from Crafter's Companion.

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then coloured it with Copic Markers.

I used one of the sentiments that comes with the stamp, as this really does apply to Col :)

I trimmed the panel down to fit on a 4 x 6 card blank and then matted it with a soft silver card.

Then I just added a few clear droplets to finish it off.

Birthday photo

Friday at last.  I'm looking forward to the weekend.  What about you?

Today I have a male birthday card to share.  This lovely image is from Lily of the Valley and just reminded me of a photograph.

To enhance this idea I made the card to be like an old photo album or scrapbook.  I've got some really old family albums that have black pages and photos held down with little triangle corners, so replicated the idea here.

The corners were cut from a die in one of the MFT Blueprint sets, but I can't remember which number ;)  The sentiment is white embossed using the Clearly Besotted Happy Birthday set.

I like how this turned out.  Hope you do too.
