Turquoise and orange - why not!

Good morning, hope you are all having a good start to the week. Let's hope this nice weather keeps going its been lovely to have a bit of sunshine over the weekend.

For today's card I have tried a new colour combo (for me that is lol) turquoise and orange! Yes I am the one that is daft enough to give it a go and do you know what? I kinda like it lol.

I was looking for a colour to co-ordinate with the turquoise and I came across this orange paper in my stash and just though why not? I knew I had some other orange bits and pieces so I went for it and this is how it ended up.

The image is Jules from Saturated Canary coloured with Spectrum Noirs. I cut her out using Spellbinders Labels 29 and inked through the die with some Broken China Distress Stain. I embossed a couple of pieces of Coredinations card one in a dark turquoise and the other in a deep orange with a butterfly embossing folder, then I cut them out with the smaller version of the same die and used these to mat behind the image. The orange flowery paper I cut using my brand new dies :o)) I love them lol. They are the Spellbinders Grand Decorative Labels One! this is the next to biggest size. I also used it to draw around and cut out the turquoise backing card by hand.

I added the little bird cut with the Sizzix Tim Holtz Caged Bird die and some fretwork from my stash. The flowers I cut out of some orange organza with the Sizzix Tattered Florals die. I held the layers together with tiny brads and then gave them a blast with the heat gun to shape the petals a bit.

I finished the card with a little metal tag and some orange striped ribbon from my stash and inked around the edge with Ripe Persimmon Distress Ink.

What do you think? Hope you like it too, thanks for stopping by today.

See you soon
