Red, white and black

Hello again.  I'm back with another card using left overs, although this one is just the flower!  

I stamped and coloured this to add to another card but then didn't need it, so it has sat unused for months waiting for the right project.

Last week Jen and I had a bit of a crafty splurge and one of the items we purchased was this cover plate.  Of course I had to cut a couple to test it out and then tried it against different coloured backgrounds.  

When I saw it on the black I thought of this little flower and a red, black and white card came to mind.

I stamped a simple sentiment on black card and white embossed it before adding it to the panel.

I added some shimmer pen over the flower for a bit of interest and raised it above the sentiment strip with foam squares.

A couple of drops of liquid pearls in ruby red finished it off.

Simon Says Stamp August kit

Hello friends

Jen is away at a wedding so you have me again today - aren't you lucky? 😆

My card was made using two stamps from the SSS card kit for August.  This set is called 'Best Ever'.

I stamped using Memento Nautical Blue ink on to pale blue textured card to create the bottom banners.  I used the MISTI as I knew I would need to multi stamp to get a crisp image on the textured card.

I have some cuddly critter images stamped, coloured and cut in my stash ready for when I need one.  All I had to do was add black liquid pearls to the eyes, nose and paws, then give him a light coat of shimmer pen.

The parcel image was cut twice in dark blue and twice in light.  This way I could mix up the colours and layer them for dimension.  To finish I added a coat of shimmer pen to this too.

I added a dark blue matt behind the panel then adhered it to a standard 5.5 x 4.25 card blank.

Heading North to Scotland

Morning all.  We are off on our holibobs today and are very excited.  The cases do contain some crafty items to fill the quiet times, but don't expect there will be too many of them lol.  There are 6 adults and 2 dogs staying in a four bed cottage on the coast below Dumfries in Scotland.  It is right by the beach so may be a bit blowy but I don't think we will mind too much.  Anywhere which is away from work and our usual routine has to be good for us.

 

As I have been in London for work this week I haven't had any crafting time :(  It was made worse by two awful train journeys and a foul up with my hotel booking which saw me staying at Heathrow when I should have been in Kensington!! Still last night I took half an hour and put together a little birthday card.  Back to one for the girlies :)

 

This is a 5x7 card blank inked with tattered rose DI and matted with a pink shimmery paper and a polka dot.  I also inked the edge of the spotty paper but it doesn't show too well on the photo.

 I think you can see it a little better in this one.

The sentiment is from a freebie set received with one of our crafty magazines. 

The dress form is from a set of Kanban toppers I bought ages ago, as are the little roses.  The topper was raised on foam pads to give a little dimension to the card.

Down the left hand side I stuck two pieces of redline.  On this I added a pink ribbon and some lace, lightly coloured with the tattered rose.
