Believe

On Sunday I coloured a sweet little image from Saturated Canary called Believe.  Last night she made it on to a card.

I stuck to a limited palette of soft tones when colouring her and continued this through to the papers.

I used one paper to cut two bitty blossoms which were rolled to make this flower.

A plain and simple card, but I like it.  Hope you do too.

Quick Christmas Card

Good morning , hope you are all well. The start of another week, they don't half come round quick these days lol.

Anyway today's card is a really quick and simple Christmas card. Or it would be for anyone else! but as my mojo is on walk about it took me ages lol. But the design should be very quick and simple.

I used a shaped 5 x 5 card and ran it through a diamond pattern embossing folder. Then I found a piece of pale green glittery card and ran this through the embossing folder too. I wasn't sure how it would look on the glittery card but it is really effective. 

(Apologies for the shadow in this photo, that would be an Ebony cat lol ;o)) she came to nosy while I was taking the photos)

I cut the card to size and matted it with some silver mirror card. Then I found a couple of pieces of ribbon that matched and added these across the middle.

I cut the snowflakes from some more glitter card, this time in black and green. I stuck these down using a wet glue to stick to the glitter card and added a little clear gem in the middle.

To finish it off I found out a very tiny Merry Christmas stamp, which I have no idea where it came from, and stamped this on to white card and matted it with a small piece of silver card. Then I just added three more gems across the ribbon.

Dabble Day make

Morning everyone.  Happy Sunday!

Jen and I had a great day again at the Busy Bees Crafts Dabble Day.  We took part in three workshops and today I am sharing the tag I made with the very lovely (and ever so slightly batty!) Hels Sheridan of Ink On My Fingers.  

Hels is a Ranger certified instructor so we always get to play with lots of lovely Tim Holtz inks, stamps and stencils.

As usual we got super inky but that is the best part of any Hels workshop and is so much fun :)

We started with a #12 tag and inked the whole surface, adding deeper colour around the edges.  I used Old Paper and Vintage Photo.  Water was the flicked over the surface to react with the ink and create some faded areas.  We then stencilled randomly across the surface with a third colour.  In this case it was Peeled Paint.

We tore strips of a stunning Kaiser craft paper and inked all the edges before laying them across the tag.  Once all the base was complete we got to the embellishing stage.

The sentiment was inked and watered the same as the tag then attached with a display pin.

The flowers are Spellbinders rolled blossoms.  I rolled them quite loosely and then once I was back home I filled the centres with silicone and sprinkled with black glitter.  The leaves were inked with Peeled Paint and crinkled up to give some extra texture.

The ribbon started as cream, but with some Vintage Photo and water I dyed it this richer shade.

So that's my completed tag.  I love it but what do you think?

1st Christmas card of the year

Good morning all, hope you are well. I am finally feeling better so hope I am over all the infections now lol. Jude and I are off on a dabble day today, organised by Busy Bees Crafts. We get to play with different products while being with some lovely crafty folk. We have 3 tutors for the day and so do three different projects. I can't wait, I am very excited to even get out of the house lol.

Anyway on to today's card, I decided to have a go at making a Christmas card with non-traditional colours. So I went looking for an image to use and colour, and came across this Saturated Canary one called Spooked. She isn't really a Christmas image but I thought she would work.

I coloured her with Spectrum Noirs and Copics and then cut her out and rounded the top corners. 

I used papers from a Melissa Francis paper pad call Classic Elegance, and teamed them with pink and turquoise Coredinations card. 

I wrote the sentiment on the PC and then printed it on to card and cut it out with a label die. I cut the snowflakes from plain white card and then gave them a bit of shabby silver embossing. 

I love this die (It's a new one, shush don't tell anyone lol). It's Precious Snowflakes from memory Box.

Gorgo

Hurrah for Friday!  

Jen and I are out on a Dabble Day tomorrow.  We get to spend all day with other like-minded folk and take 3 crafty workshops.  It's always fun!  It also means we will have several things to blog over the next week, lol :)

A few weeks ago Krista Smith of Saturated Canary released a new digi image called Gorgo - http://saturated-canary.myshopify.com/products/gorgo

I bought her immediately but only got around to colouring her this week.

Isn't she lovely?

I felt she needed a very simple layout so I used one paper, a piece of vellum, a length of ribbon and a rub on quote.  I thought the quote fit her so well.

Panda Hug

Good morning all, I have finally made a card. First one in 11 days lol. My mojo seems to have gone on holiday so they are really taking some time! But never mind I will keep trying. 

The image is Panda Hug from Saturated Canary - available here. But I decided to colour him brown like a teddy bear instead of black and white. 

I coloured the image with Copics, Promarkers and Flexmarkers and then cut it out with a circle die. 

The papers are from a paper pad called Pippi's Garden Collection, this came free with a recent craft mag, and I teamed it with some pale blue Coredinations card. 

I made a bow using a bow template, and now this has really made we want a bow die. The template worked fine but it is very fiddly lol.

Then I finished the card off with a simple sentiment and a couple of gems, then decided to give the bear some googly eyes lol.

A bit bright?

Hello everyone.  Can you believe it is October already?  Time is really flying by.

One of the cards I made for the wedding turned out much brighter than I originally intended.  Do you do that?  Start with one idea and end up with something totally different.

I started with a pre-coloured Lili of the Valley image which I recoloured to blend with my chosen colour scheme.

Once the colours dried they were more intense than I thought they would be so I chose papers to match.

As it was for a wedding I thought this little sentiment was perfect.

Here is the finished card.  As I said it's brighter than I wanted but I sent it anyway, lol.
