Sew Special...

Good morning all,

Hope you have all had a good week and are now looking forward to the weekend. I do hope the weather is nice for us all this weekend, it's bitterly cold here today and I'm definitely in need of some warmer weather soon.

I thought I'd show you a card today that I made for my mum to give to a friend. She does a lot of sewing so the theme was quite simple.

I started with a plain white A5 fancy shaped card blank. I added a few different colours of distress ink and blended them all together to create the background. Then I used my sewing themed stamp set and added some background stamps in purple (dusty concord) and green (old paper) inks.

I cut the large dress form on my Silhouette Cameo and then used some material scraps to fashion an outfit.

I used the same stamps to stamp the cotton reels, scissors and ruler on to Kraft card and then cut these out by hand.

I wrapped 3 cotton reels with different coloured threads and then added these to the card.

I arranged the other items and then added a couple of extra pieces of material as swatches and put two coloured head pins through them.

I finished the card off with the Sew Special sentiment stamped on to white card and then distressed with the same blend of inks as the background.

Mum really likes the card so hope her friend does too.

I am entering this in to the Docrafts cardmakers challenge - Fabric.

That's all from me today, take care and thanks for stopping by.

See you soon
Jen
